“Groupon Girl Trip”
Reviewed 28 March 2013

Traveled with girlfriends for a quick getaway....and a steal via Groupon. Considering the price paid for the four nights at an all-inclusive --I really cannot complain. You get what you pay for essentially... and we certainly enjoyed ourselves in the sun.
The Pros:
-The staff were helpful and friendly.
-No issues with check-in or out.
-Plenty of Pools to choose from
-Decent entertainment near the pool/beach
I've had plenty experience at higher-end all-inclusives, so believe the following is a fair assessment of the cons:
-Alcohol selection is far from top shelf. Those who enjoy abundant cocktails may be disappointed.
-No poolside/beachside waiter service (none that I saw).
-No true adult only spaces (beware those who like to sunbathe topless)
-Beds in my room were not hotel-quality comfy

VIP sections (Lifestyle Vacations) are far superior. We took the tour and witnessed how it is a different world by comparison. I'm glad I got to see for myself. Be prepared for the sales pitches. Could be a good deal for you.

Room Tip: may be best to request a room closer to the main bldg, front desk. Tons of walking up and down sta...

Ok first off I'm from Canada been all over! I was a little scared going into this because of the reviews but you just have to experience it for your self! We had an amazing stay here! We stayed at cofresi palm beach resort. The only thing I would complain about is the rooms. We were noliplus but given the out dated rooms! So upgrade before u go if you can because they dont let u there. But we really didn't mind we made the best of it & they were always clean & had a huge deck. Fridge u have to leave money in it or ask for it to be stalked. The buffets were so, so! Something for everyone! You won't starve! Lol if you like omelettes make sure to ask for well done. A couple times mine were not cooked. A le carte were good!! My favorite was the Mexican! Wish I could have ate there every night! Pools were awesome , beaches were nice. Sometimes a bit of weeds but who cares your in the ocean! VIP areas you can't get into but didn't bother us. It's a huge resort so lots of places to go. We did meet someone who told us the VIP password for wifi so that helped I just sat close to the VIP beach area & ran off there wifi it's march for user name & march for password prob the same for each month. But u can also buy wifi packages & we did the 24hr one & would just shut it off after every time we used it. It lasted us the entire week this way! All & all it was a fantastic trip. Would def go back! I suggest renting a scooter. That was the highlight of my week. We did it 2xs once by ourselves & once with the guy we rented from. He took us shopping & to the top of this hill where the million dollar homes are. The view was breath taking. Hope this helps & enjoy if you are going!

Beach and property are beautiful. Great food and service. Never a boring moment Tino and Bon Jovi keep the fun going from the minute you to step on the beach until you leave the show each night. Great vacation and wonderful time guaranteed !

I've been to many all-inclusive resorts throughout the Caribbean, and this was by far the absolute worst! Just got back home last night, and I can honestly say that I would never go back. It's quite possibly the only all-inclusive vacation where I've actually lost weight due to the horrible food. The rooms you see online are NOT what you get if you booked with Groupon. Be prepared for an old run down cockroach infested, freezing cold room (a/c is not adjustable) with no blankets, sliding glass doors that don't lock, mosquitoes that somehow find their way in, filthy floors and bathrooms, and only occasionally hot water in your shower. Also, the walls are paper thin, so be prepared to do all your sleeping on the beach. The beach is rocky and full of seaweed. The staff is mediocre at best. Also, skip the VIP party - the food was terrible. The drinks however at this party were top shelf, but that's not the norm elsewhere in the resort. It was mostly a teaser to get you to join their timeshare.

Room Tip: Upgrade your room is this is the only resort you can afford - or stay at Iberostar.

I recently went to this resort during the month of February, my overall stay was wonderful. People are mostly from Canada and the age range is from young and old couples all the way to families with children.

The staff was nice and weren't too pushy which was great. The only critique is that it is very much a place that places there value on those visitors who are members of the Lifestyle Vacations and you can notice that.

The overall resort was gorgeous -- beautiful pools and the weather was great.

The food was decent -- however don't expect to be able to make reservations or make changes to yours. It doesn't happen.

My room was alright -- the junior sweets are a little bit extra but it's worth it for sure. My sister had one and I was so jealous.

Bartering was a little more difficult then say, Cuba, but it is very local which is nice.

The excursion was the best part for sure -- I highly recommend the waterfall excursion.

LOTS of stairs but boohoo!

Would I go back .... ABSOLUTELY just a beautiful beautiful place!

Room Tip: Junior Sweet room selection. The 40000 section however the 30000 is in a good walking distance.

Price was very reasonable. Hotel staff and pool entertainment staff were great! "Sexy Blacky" of the pool staff crew was very personable, provided great entertainment and activities to do around the pool area. Pool and beach locations were all very clean and well kept. Numerous bar locations to enjoy your all inclusive drinks. Food was nothing special but you certainly get what you pay for at this resort.

When I read reviews for this place i got so scared to go. But the truth is, anybody who says something negative about this place is crazy! The property is so gorgeous and the staff is so friendly and nice. There are so many pools and we got lucky with our room because we were in room 2073 and it was close to the beach but also close to the main lobby where we liked to swim in one pool with the waterfall in it. We had a pool right in front of our room and we had a balcony as well.

Me and my boyfriend booked this trip through groupon and it went as smooth as ever. We flew into Santiago airport ( Do not recommend you do that unless you want to spend $100 each way). We came to the resort around 7pm and we checked in. They couldnt find our reservation at first but they quickly fixed that and gave us our bracelets, room cards and a cute hotel booklet with the map of the hotel and all it's amenities and buffets etc. The staff takes your luggage and drives you to your room with a shuttle since the grounds are so huge.

Our room was big, spacious and clean. The only problem was that when taking a shower the water would leak out onto the bathroom floor creating a puddle because the shower curtain wasn't good but nothing to ruin our trip like some people state. The room had great balcony where we would dry all our bathing suits and wet towels. The AC works amazing and you can adjust the cooling temperature on it. It was a bit loud but I liked it like that. We had a TV with so many channels with movies and a telephone. We barely spent time in the room anyways, since we had so much to do on the resort.

The beach isn't crystal clear water but it's still nice. They have vendors with souvenirs on the beach and people selling some peanuts. The water is so clean, warm and fun. They have a banana boat and some kayak boats u could take out. You will receive a towel card if you want a towel for the pool or beach.

My favorite part of this trip were the pools. They have so many with swim up bars and waterfalls and hammocks. The options are endless :) We swam for hours on end and sunbathed a little and it was just so calming. The pools are never crowded because the selection is so big people don't all cram up on one.

There is a buffet that is open almost all day right by beach with great service and yummy food. The other buffet was good too, nothing special but good enough. They had fries, rice, hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta, ommelett station, cereal, orange juice, pancakes and much more.

For dinner you can make a reservation at one of their restaurants (Dominican, italian, brazilian, asian,etc.). You have to go to guest services between 3-4 and ask if anything is open and you will get a receipt with your reservation. We did the italian restaurant and the dominican restaurant. They were both amazing. We had pasta alfredo with grilled chicken and pastelon (dominican dish). They serve you wine and at the dominican restaurant you can take a fun shot of mamajuana with the staff :)

The grounds are big, so be prepared for stairs and walking but nothing serious. It's probably good to get in some excercise while eating and drinking all day.

They have some night shows that they do. Me and boyfriend got into a dance competition and won a bottle of rum and coffee. The winning couple got horseback riding. They made us dance merengue and stuff on stage and the crowd voted.

The Sunday VIP party was amazing. Anybody can go and the buffet was huge and delicious. They served lobster, grilled pork, steak on the grill and so much more. It was outdoors and it was simply beautiful.

We booked a trip to Paradise Island (will review) and it was amazing too.

Anybody who says this place isn't nice is either a snob or should just stay home because you are unpleasable lol

My trip ended up good with a few quirks here and there but that happens everywhere.

If you have a booking here, do not worry what so ever. it's great, especially for the price I paid! :)

Loved it! I have plenty of pics to prove it :)
