Las Palmas sits in the heart of Puerto Plata, back from the road within a walled garden is this refurbished, old-fashioned colonial house. We sat outside on the porch in the tranquility of the garden sheltered from the noise of Puerto Plata's vibrancy.
Las Palmas is famed for its Pizza's. I chose a medium Cappriciosa but the waitress suggested that a small one would be more than ample......she was right....I struggled to eat it all......and it was delicious. There is, however, much more on the menu including local specialities (eg Dominican Goat dishes).
Service is relaxed and informal but that suits the place over formality. Always a smile and good humour from the waitresses.
Excellent yet inexpensive lunch in this quiet haven.
