My friends and I booked a package from Expedia.com at Barcelo Naiboa Caribe Resort for 5 nights and 6 days. We just got back this Monday (Feb. 2nd)

The all inclusive package was really great! - all you can eat and drink! And food and drinks were all very good.

Our room was a good size room with balcony. It came with a beautiful view of the beach. There was enough warm water. You should drink or brush teeth from the faucet water, so we brought bottled water to our trip. Our beds were made every day and our bathroom was cleaned everyday by the maid. We had enough closet space for three people.

In the day time, you can stay at the resort and play water volleyball or basketball, get a sun tan by the private beach or swimming pool, learn new dance moves, or play beach volleyball. Or, you can take a local bus to Boca Chica beach, Juan Dolio, San Pedro, or Santo Domingo for less than a dollar. They have night live stage shows every night at 10pm. They have a disco from 11pm-2am, but not that many people are there though..

The place is bit far from big tourists' attractions, but take the local bus for about 25 dominican pesos (50 cents) to the big beach nearby, Boca Chica or go to the capital city, Santo Domingo for 45 dominican pesos (a little less than $1). The beach at this resort is small, but it is private.

Not all the staffs speak English fluently, but there's at least one or two always around that speaks well. If you're going to Dominican Republic, you should learn some phrases in Spanish. We can't expect everyone in the world to speak English fluently!
>>Every staffs were so friendly and were always reaching out to help you.

Our complaint would be that they had a "jacuzzi," but I guess their definition of jacuzzi was different from ours. There were bubbles in "jacuzzi," but the water never became hot like the ones in the US.

We really enjoy the trip to Naiboa Caribe!

We went Dec. 2003. Unless your a local and speak fluent Spanish, don't go here. The room are horribly decorated and old. No hot water and the water is not safe to drink. The food is terrible. Both me and my friend got sick and we were not the only ones. The resort is not close to anything so you will pay lots of money for Taxi. After we got over being sick, We got on the local bus (this is cheapest way) and spent most our time at Boca Chica Beach and found restuarant to eat at. They rate this a 4-star. I have been many places and this by no means is a 4-star...it should not be listed. This is where the locals go for their vacation, by their standard of living (very poor country) I guess they would consider it a 4-star. Don't waste your money..they are too many nicer places to visit. I will never go back!

We went to barcelo naiboa on feb 2003 and never go back again, you beter pay a little more and get a place where you can enjoy your stay.
This hotel is nice but have some problems with water flowing from the toilet, the biggest thing is the horrible beach. However, the food is ok, the staff is nice but the emplacement is bad, you get what you pay for.

When we arrived we were not given a Welcome Cocktail as advertised. We checked into our room, to find out that the main light did not work, the bathroom from above was leaking into ours, which formed an inch deep puddle of water on our bathroom floor! The TV had 8 fuzzie spanish channels. The room doors could be opened with any key.
We then went to the beach which was only 100 meters long and half belonged to locals. The beach was enclosed by sharp rocks, which caused large waves, not good for swimming. There was no beach bar, long walk to the swimming pool bar.
The games room was located under the pool bar, hidden with the exercise room.
No one spoke english (staff and guests).
The bartenders had no idea what they were doing. The food was horrible. It took 1 hour to get 2 salads in the a la carte restaurant. The pasta was not fully cooked.
The water dripping made it hard to sleep.
It was a terrible experience and we transfered to the Decameron!
