I wanted to take the time to THANKS the staff from Los Altos Club for their hospitality during our stay last weekend; capturing the time, I can say that we live an excellent service experience from the moment we arrived until our departure.

The fine detail of a welcome cake with the name of my son, Gabriel Alejandro, was fantastic and caused a super nice feeling to my son, which is "priceless". Really that kindness in dealing, the constant care and the attention were exceptional.

In summary our family time turned into one experience that left us wanting to come back soon.

Again THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS on your dedication and service. This is definitely a place I would trustily advise people to go.

Best Regards,

When you see the pictures the first thing that come to your mind is "too good to be real" and the fact is: is too good and is way better than you are thinking. The place is absolutely perfect, wonderful pools, the apartments are modern and very comfortable. Los Altos are the best option for those who are seeking for a quite place and enjoy a exclusive and personalized service. Highly reccomended for couples and families.

As I always disclosure I am a travel agent. First about Los Altos Club, followed by Casa de Campo logistics.

Los Altos Club Casa de Campo is a collection of 1-3 bedroom condominiums/flats located at the southeastern section of Casa de Campo(CdC), adjacent to the Dye Fore Golf Course (for golf buffs, the course was designed by Pete Dye). The location is unique as it is somewhat removed from the majority of the CdC development yet also offers the luxury of a location within walking distance of the Altos De Chavon Village area, a collection of shops and restaurants.

Our unit was rented by Los Altos Club Casa de Campo. Check-in is in their offices adjacent to the development during business hours or at the unit if requested. Even though the units are condominiums, the lead concierge, Arianna is a resource from dinner suggestions to procuring groceries to hiring a cook or nanny if needed. Of course she can secure golf tee-times.

The units within Los Altos Club are spread among a group of buildings, the majority facing the golf course all accessible via one private road with a gated entry. Due to the design and layout one’s view is never obstructed by another building.

Within the confines of Los Altos Club, there are multiple pools with hot tubs (from eyeballing, each building has a pool and hot tub) as well as an outdoor grilling area (propane) and seating if one wishes to dine by the pool. In addition there is a well-equipped workout facility which is staffed and only available to those within the Los Altos Club at no extra fee.

Our unit was a 2 bedroom/2.5 bathroom on two-levels. Upon entry the first level opens into an entry foyer, including a guest ½ bathroom, washer/dryer hidden in a closet followed by a large dining area seating eight (8) and a large kitchen fully equipped including a blender, sandwich press and upscale stainless-steel appliances including a gas cooktop w/ 6 burners/stove. Beyond is an expansive living room with double height ceilings (easily 25 feet), Off the living room there is a large patio with casual seating and dining area. The sliding glass between the living room and the patio open fully allowing true indoor/outdoor comfort. Flooring on the first level was dominated by marble and sisal area rugs. Furniture comfortable and inviting, large pieces which work in the expansive living room. There is designer lighting, a large flat-screen, and enhanced audio system including Ipod dock and reading material.

Up the stairs from the foyer there is a hallway and two split bedrooms. The master bedroom is a loft setting above the living room. Beautifully appointed with a California King bed, flat screen TV, large closets and an en-suite bathroom. The view from the mater bedroom looks onto the golf course due to the double-height windows in the living room. Not to worry the area can be made private with sheer and blackout shades and the view is south. Flooring was teak with tile in the bathroom and an individual thermostat for the central air.

The second bedroom offered a queen bed, flat-screen and a larger en-suite bathroom and a walk-in closet. There is an individual thermostat as well. Thus both bedrooms could truly be considered “Master Bedrooms” and two couples would have no issues sharing the unit. Ceiling heights in both bedrooms exceed 10 feet. Both bedrooms had Ipod docks, a nice touch both for charging and playing an IPod or in our situation an IPhone.

The building does have an elevator as there is a single level of units above ours as well as garage parking below the building.

Los Altos Club’s location is unique within CdC. There is a sense of isolation and serenity which is not usually experienced in such a large development. However with this luxury, one must consider a car as if one desires to partake in the many amenities within CdC, most are a drive distance away as there are few sidewalks.

Logistics: As mentioned, The Los Altos Club is somewhat isolated from the majority of the CdC development yet is within walking distance of Altos De Chavon which is a charming village area with about 5 restaurants, a mini-market (which sells food as well as wine and spirits) and boutiques as well as a museum. Within CdC, the highest concentration of restaurants is in this area as well as the Marina area, about a 5-7 minute drive north.

If you enjoy golf, a better location cannot be had coupled with a modern clean design. Due to the low density, lounge chairs are always available by the pool(s) and the outdoor grills are a nice amenity, perfect for al-fresco dining.

The unit we stayed in is for “adults” due to the design i.e. the loft bedroom. However there are units designed for families as well.

Getting There: The airport of choice is La Romana which is close by and The Los Altos Club can with prior arrangement pick you up. Avis does have car rental on site within CdC or pick up a rental car at La Romana. The secondary airport would be Punta Cana. One can fly into Santo Domingo; however it is a longer drive.

Once inside CdC there is little reason to leave. All amenities are on-site. While Los Altos is a great option for golfers as guests can walk to the club house of the Dye Fore course, there are so many other amenities from horseback riding to boat excursions to tennis, spa and so forth. Arianna, the on-site concierge can assist with all reservations and information. Not sure if this is standard practice, Arianna provided us with a cellphone to call her if we needed any assistance.

If you are looking to visit CdC yet desire to be away from the hustle and bustle especially in season, Los Altos Club should be at the top of your list. Concerning value, I found Los Altos Club Casa de Campo rates to be on par with the standard hotel rooms at CdC yet you receive so much more in terms of space, value and comfort.

Room Tip: Each unit is unique. Be sure to advise if traveling with children as some units are designed more for adults i.e. open loft areas to level below. 1st Floor offers doube-height ceiling however top floor units have expansive views of the golf course and beyond.

Great staff. Clean and luxury apartments. Great views. Went on a boat to Palmilla island , one of the most beautifull beaches I've ever been and play golf in world famous "Dye Fore" and "Teeth of the Dog" . Excelent restaurants.
