“Great Condo Rental G301”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

This condo was in a secure gated complex, with private access to the beach. Contrary to a previous review we read about this condo, we had a great stay. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, professional, communicative and responsive. Completing the rental transaction was smooth and efficient.

The complex is about 8 years old but well maintained and clean. Pool area was large and landscaped beautifully. Nearing the end of the tourist high season, we appreciated the tranquil, peaceful surroundings around the complex without the noise, hustle and bustle of the big resorts nearby. We were travelling with our grown teenagers and they enjoyed the stay as well..

Our condo overlooked the pool area and had a partial view of the ocean from the large walkout balcony. The condo itself was spacious, with a large kitchen and living room. Good, comfortable beds and pillows. A programmable safety box vault for valuables. Bathrooms were clean with plenty of towels.Kitchen had all the amenities of home. A large water cooler with a complementary bottle of water was sufficient for the 5 days spent here with an option to purchase more along with ice from the front office for a nominal fee. Availability of beach towels and a small cooler in our condo to take with us to the beach was convenient.

Laundry is done from a central location for a fee, but they do wash and fold all your clothes, you drop off and pick up. Vicente and Linda, the property managers for this condo were very helpful and answered all our questions.

A private beach for Stanza Mare guests with lounge chairs, shady areas and cabanas available free of charge. Stanza Mare is adjacent to the Pirate ship and other excursion opportunities but far enough away from the complex.

Within a short walking distance, were small supermarkets, fruit and vegetable stands, and restaurants with a good selection of foods. We enjoyed Brazilian, Italian, Eclectic and wood fired pizza for very reasonable prices.

Overall, a great trip to Bavaro Beach and Punta Cana, look forward to the next time!

This is a decent fairly new condominium complex located not far from the nightmare that is the Punta Cana all-inclusives located a mile or two down the beach. This place is pretty well maintained consisting of maybe ten buildings arranged in a U-shape around a large pool/bar complex. There's a large private beach out front.
Security is good with a full time daytime beach guard. There's at least a couple of guys at night. Some good restaurants are within close walking distance.

Room Tip: The pirate show next door is hysterical. We watched the show every afternoon.

The Stanza Mare complex has a very clean and safe environment, right on the beach. The entire complex and garden area are very well maintained and we feel in total security with security guards 24/7 on the site. All the current employees are very helpful and friendly, especially Carlos, the security guard on the beach who takes care of us.

Our stay at the condo K-101 is enjoyable and the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. Most importantly is the fact that the Condo owner (Mr. Santiago) is very honest and easy to deal with because he is very helpful and quickly replies to any questions we have. Everything he told us about the place is as he described it.

The condo is very well kept and very warmly decorated. We saw other condos in the complex and this one is by far the nicest one. We have a wired High speed internet and telephone service inside the condo. The swimming pool has been newly remodeled and close to our unit.

The grounds are very well maintained and fumigated twice a week. For the shade on the beach and pool, there are several palapas and parasols with many long beach chairs with cousins. We walk for miles on the beach in both directions and the beach in front of the complex is one of the nicest.

At a walking distance on the street, there are many good restaurants: Balicana, D’Angelos, Troncos, Danny’s bar & grill, Le petit jardin and 3 beach restaurants/bars (Bamboo, Soles and Huracan Cafe) within a 2 minute walk on the beach.

The 3 grocery stores (OSA, Ciccolella and BAM), the fresh fruits & vegetable market, the bakery and the pharmacy are at a walking distance from the complex for our basic needs but for larger shopping or groceries, we have choice to go to 2 shopping centre (Plaza Lama at the Palma Real and the Super Pola at the San Juan Shopping Centre) within a 20-30 minutes by local bus ride for 30 pesos ($0.75) each and come back in taxi for 500 pesos ($12.50).

We absolutely love the condo K-101 and appreciate how close everything is.

I was debating on writing a review. The owners are nice and we enjoyed our stay. There just is not a lot to say. It is a typical condo. Has all the provisions of home. I loved that the beach towels were included. Saved us from packing wet towels.
We got picked up from the airport and had the grocery stop. The grocery store is jammed packed and we used most of our 25 minutes waiting in line. The taxi driver bagged groceries to help move things along. Buy a lot of groceries as the small store close by the condo has very little.
Sharkies(the pool restaurant)and the beach bar we closed for good .
we settled our bill first off. I was glad to get rid of that wad of cash I had to carry. would use a secure site to pay on line next time. You pay for $75.00 of electricity. We are VERY conservative and only turned on the bed room airconditioners at night and still used $75.00. so budget well.
The pesos are about 40 pesos to 1.00 usd. We gave Carlos 500 pesos the first day and told him it was for the week.He is a wonderful and happy worker. He had our chairs for us every day.and he will help you with anything. I bought a raft and he found a friend to blow it up for me. Buy a raft at walmart and bring it if you want it. You can float in the ocean in the same spot for a long time.
We took a few days to feel comfortable with the area.We realized it was not that no one ate at certain restaurants but we ate early. Some restaurants dont open till 7PM.
Going out to the beach if you go left by the excursion for the pirate ship there is a restaurant called the Hurricane. We liked that a lot. (opens at 7:00 PM) You can Walk the beach that way for the nicer shops with less harassment. The Russians own those shops and they are happy if you just take a look at their stuff. Things are priced in USD and they take Credit cards..
Going right down the beach are the shops that you have to bargin at and they confuse you until you don,t know what you just bought. If you walk for about 1/2 hour to the right ,my other favorite restaurant is the Jelly fish. Very cool atmosphere.Either go early to all restaurants (like 6:00) or make reservations. Its small but cute and well run. Its a 15 dollar cab ride so we walked the beach to the restaurant and took a cab back.
There is the hard rock and outback at the mall. Nice classy mall.$ 10.00 cab ride.
Find out what unit you have and ask for specifics. We did not have a hair dryer DVD player or an oven and we bought 2 frozen pizza for the kids. They do not all have what is listed.
All in all a good location, with adequate provisions.just make sure you know what you are getting. Oh and we washed dish's with tap water and its fine.
We did the day trip by catamaran to Samana island. Booked through Vincent. Great trip.
Also did the pirate ship on New Yeard eve. Good if the kids are like 10 otherwise just fair.
Hope these tips helped !!!!!

Room Tip: I think they are all good. None are far from the beach and all close to the pool. Unit F had little...

We were there for a week in December. We were 8 people total. We rented 3 different condos
from Linda & Vicente. Our condos were Every thing we could ask for and more. The views from the terrace were awesome. Our condos very clean, stocked with plenty of towels and beach towels. We were taken care of the moment we stepped into the van arranged by Linda with a market stop. The pool is so big with a waterfall that lights up at night and not many people around at all. The Stanza Mare beach is always so clean and I found out how. The gardeners are there very early in at morning and do a great job every day to keep it that way.
The grounds are very well kept and clean. We did the Saona trip recommended by Vicente and had the best time ever. I loved the boat ride. We ate out every night at the restaurants recommended by Linda. I will be back here in a heart beat. I plan on making this my regular yearly vacation. I couldent ask for more. Loved love loved it.

Room Tip: The second, third and forth floors in the G building and F building have the best views of beach, oc...

First the good:
-condo development has a very beautiful, secure beachfront location with shade palapas.

-Good selection of restaurants, bakery, and convenience grocery in easy walking distance.

-LARGE attractive pool (NOT HEATED) that's beautifully lit at nite.

-Well maintained attractive grounds.

-Good wifi linkup in our unit, other people we talked to weren't as lucky so probably unit specific; also available poolside.

-3 nice flat screens.

-Having an end unit gives better ventilation and light.

The uneven:
-2BR unit advertised as sleeping up to 6 -- no way. There is one queen, 2 twins only. Couch does not make bed.

-When the water mains ruptured and we were without water for 2 days, the owner acknowledged promptly (from Miami), but offered no compensation for us having to lug buckets of pool water up 3 flights of stairs to flush toilets. Pool toilet nasty filled with feces left for 2-3 days. Managers said just swim in pool to bathe..... Understand unforeseeable situation, but should have been more helpful during (supply extra bottled water, have workers bring up pool water for toilet flushes, pass to beach clubs for showers) and/or partial refund or free dinners or something!

-The 2nd BR w twins is not comfy for 6 ft adults, plus very noisy due to proximity of water plant, and loud motorcycles zooming around adjacent public street. I suspect a location deeper into the project would solve this problem, but for this specific unit I wouldn't use that 2nd BR for anyone other than children. We were 2 couples traveling, so switched off to split the time in the yuck BR evenly. The window placement is also problematic as casements open inward over the beds, but need to stay open for ventilation, so you're dodging that in your sleep. It also precludes pushing twins together, which owner promised to do, but didn't, and now I know why.

-The master BR has nice direct balcony access. The dresser however is placed only 18 inches from footboard so can't effectively use drawers, and protruding pulls make bruises when traversed to access balcony.

- Frig door opens onto deadend wall of kitchen, awkward, and could easily be switched.

-Bath Towels thin and stingy quantity (1 set per person per week), similar beach towel allotment w better quality. Sheets fair-average quality.

-Pillows poor/cheap and only one per person (not counting 1 ea decor pillow not for sleeping)

-Funky bath faucets using kitchen model in sinks; small aged bathrooms adequate but far below average at this price point.

-Several doors, including MBR door onto living room, won't stay closed due to sloppy construction, so had to brace shut with carry on luggage nitely.

-unit managers arranged airport pickup (extra charge) as promised for one of the couples, but totally dropped ball with second couple, leaving them to punt own way here, with difficulty. Managers shrugged off the mistake.

Room Tip: 3rd or 4th fl w ocean view is great if u can manage the stairs (no elevator), corner unit, farther i...
