I got married at this resort on April 21, 2014. This place is absolutely amazing! We were 48 people in our gang and everyone had the time of their lives! For anyone thinking about getting married at this resort I highly suggest the beach party for your reception. This was so fun, beautiful and well organized. A special thank you to the wedding coordinator Kiara! She made our special day so stress free and perfect! I have been to several resorts in Cuba and Punta Cana and I was very impressed with everything at this resort. The food is very good, the beach is beautiful and the Casino/discoteque is fantastic at night! The staff are all very friendly! I will definitely be returning!

Room Tip: I suggest the Junior suits that are close to the beach. They are just as beautiful as the honeymoon...

girlfriend and i stayed May 18-24, 2014 for a girls getaway. my first time there and it was awesome. i love bavaro princess (BP)!! Most important go platinum at this resort worth the extra money.

the staff was super friendly, always smiling and extremely helpful. we got confused when the bus dropped us off, because we were platinum (private check in...way better) and they drive you to another area of the resort were all platinum guests stay. anyway the staff was really kind to try and explain to you to go in the truck to other side of the resort. they bell boy waits for you to check in and carries your bags with you to the room. he checked the AC and asked if we needed anything. good job on the service.

i wanted a drink in a fresh coconut and right away one of staff dressed in green climbed up a ladder and cut it down fresh. there was also other maintenance people offering carts full of coconuts. housekeeping was extremely nice and patient. there were a few days my gf and i were late leaving and they happily nodded and came back.
we went platinum (absolutely must) and the front desk guys are amazing. we were served drinks immediately. ask for francisco he is the most polite, warmest, funny and attention orientated employee. he is also there to help you! we asked for extra towels and the next morning he called to make sure our towels were ok and if we needed more. HELLO!!! primo service there. we were at the beach regularly and there was one bartender- carlos and the server- claudio. both awesome friendly guys. i prefer claudio he was so dedicated running around bringing people drinks in the 40 degrees weather. honestly, the staff was smiling all day every day.

our room was really nice and literally 10 feet away from the beach. another reason to go platinum. you want your room in the high 700s. we were in room 775. our suite was close to everything. my gf and i both agreed we would return to this section again no exceptions.

the AC was nice and blasting when we checked in. our room was really clean we had no complaints what so ever. the fridge is stocked up everyday. although our room didn't have a bottle opener (soda is no twist cap) and our security box did not work. we locked everything in our suitcases. honestly we felt our stuff was safe here. we didn't leave ipods or ipads out. the resorts pride their selves and business on reputations, so if there are incidents of theft or sickness no one will ever come back. i think the staff here try it their all for tourist to have the best relaxing vacation ever. the bed was mucho comfortable. i was surprised read some reviews before saying the pillows were hard as rocks. our pillows were so comfortable.

beach is amazing. huge, water is clear and disgustingly salty...lol. water is so refreshing. the sand is nice and clean. the staff clean off the beach beds daily. remember to go early before breakfast and put your towel out, because the beds reserved in platinum section go fast. don't forget to ask for this delicious drink called "coco loco" aka crazy coconut. it this delicious coconut icy smoothie with chocolate sauce. OMG so good....ask for rum in it :)

food at restaurants were ok. the japanese teppanyaki is really good, italian was disappointing and the salad bar was nasty, seafood across from italian was ok as well, the licey restaurant (french cuisine) was average and the steakhouse was good. we only went to the buffet at breakfast and it was ok. the fresh fruit smoothies are delicious (i love the watermelon i drank one everyday), i had an omelette every morning (which i was sick of when i returned to toronto), because the eggs at the buffet counter looked sketchy. everything else was ok there.
the best is lunch time at the steakhouse restaurant which they transform into a lunch buffet. i didn't eat anything from the outside grill buffet, but a lot of people did and no one was sick. i didn't hear of anyone getting sick there. but as a fair warning be careful of what you eat, because in the end it was a 3rd world country. forget about ketchup at buffet doesn't exist they give you hot sauce??? the burgers at the grill by the beach is nasty. i swear it is not cow beef. but the fries are terrific i should have just eaten plates of fries they fresh, hot, crispy on outside and fluffy in the middle.
don't forget to make reservations at restaurants. trust me after a long day at beach and pool you're hungry and don't want to wait. i noticed when we were leaving a lot of people had to wait till 9 or 10 to eat at restaurants. that can ruin your trip.

don't forget to tip the staff. the appreciate it so much. a lot of people forgot the servers and the one guy who makes your eggs every morning and sushi.
i packed 5 ziploc bags of goodies from dollar store for housekeepers. just leave it out for them. here are suggestions to put in baggies. tooth brushes and paste, hair clips, stickers, note books, pencils, erasers, candies (not too many because they cannot afford dental plans). i made 3 bags for boys and 2 for girls and 1 unisex.

no need to bring too much clothing but a nice beach hat is very convenient. lot's of SPF and tanning oil. don't forget to check out all the animals- peacocks, giant rabbits, monkeys, cranes, cats, crabs (we had 2 living in our bush), etc.

i would totally return with my boyfriend next year. i think he would love it. the resort has a lot of couples and groups. check BP out and i think you'll really like it there. so much fun!
love you BP can't wait to return. amazing first time experience!!!!

Room Tip: you want your room in the high 700s. we were in room 775. on bottom suite. close to platinum front d...

We visited last November and what a treat it was. The room was fabulous and really spacious with a jacuzzi in the room and you could see the TV when sat in it (my boyfriend thought this was great)
The grounds of the hotel are absolutely stunning. Palm trees with coconuts everywhere, beautiful bright flowers and peacocks walking around. I love turtles and especially loved that the hotel had turtles everywhere! There is a pond in reception which is displayed lovely which has fish and turtles swimming around as well as the parrots. There is also a nature reserve at the back of the hotel which has ponds full of turtles! We used to feed them every day after breakfast.
The beach is beautiful, I would rather lie on the beach than by the pool as the view is gorgeous.
We really enjoyed all of the restaurants there too, our favourite was definitely the Argentinian you MUST try fillet minion as it was amazing.
For some reason, there weren't many English people staying at the hotel but that didn't really bother us it was just a shame as it was such a beautiful hotel that others were not having the pleasure of enjoying it like us.
The only downside to our holiday was that we were invited to our welcome meeting and our rep never turned up (I'm guessing as we were the only ones he thought it wasn't worth it) he was also not there for the whole 2 weeks. This didn't really matter as all of the other reps in the hotel were very helpful so we didn't really need our own. Obviously he had NOTHING to do with the hotel at all and our issue was only with Thomson not the hotel. Everyone there was brilliant.
I would love to return and would definitely return back to this hotel. I would really recommend the English (and anyone else)to go there and experience this top hotel.

We were 10 of us travelling to bavaro.. I heard great things about it and yes they were right. Ingrid from guest service was amazing love you! Johnny from front desk was great, very helpful. The food was great especially the a la carte Japanese tanuki, Diego our chef was awesome..... The beach is beautiful the rooms are clean and roomy, the food good, service was great there always there to help. I would go back in a heart beat....we stayed near pool in the 100's. The train was shuttle was on time. The resort very big but beautiful, we'll kept grounds. If you travel with sunwing there's no non motorized sports on beach as it says in brochure only what the resort has to offer on beach...Ronald,Miguel, Jose, tony from customer service thank you for a great and memorable trip....see you soon.

Room Tip: Stay close to beach resort is huge...food is great bring a mug for drinks. It's hot so make sure...

My husband and I took our first trip to the Dominican from 5/28-6/2. We were hoping for a really great trip. We have many friends who have been there (different resorts) and loved it. First of all let me start out with the few things we did like. The resort, grounds, and beach were beautiful. The beach couldn't have been nicer. Very big beach and very pretty nature and wildlife at the resort. There was always workers working on the grounds. The drinks and beer were very good. Also, they had nightly shows and music. I really enjoyed that. The band was very good and had great singers. The shows were great with all the dancing and costumes. That takes a lot of hard work and practice. Now for the not so good. We got to the Bavaro Princess and checked in and they took our bags and told us they would bring them to the room. Our room was close to the beach which is a good walk from the lobby. We waited for the train for several minutes and got tired of waiting for the train so we ended up walking to our room. We get there and luggage was not there. We had to call the front desk twice before they showed up. This took over an hour. This was really frustrating to us as we were tired, hot and sweaty and just wanted to change. We could have brought them to our room with us when we walked if we knew it would have taken that long. We had a bungalow suite. It was nice but it could have been cleaner. We did not feel it was the cleanest. There were many little ants on the night stand and they were getting in our bed. That is just gross. We heard other guests had ants in their room as well. They need to take care of that issue. The food was not very good at all. There was different food at the buffets that we had no idea what it was. The did not have a big selection. Of the a la carte restaurants, at least one was closed every night. Then on our last night there they had 3 closed. Yes 3!! That is ridiculous. That does not leave many options. We ended up eating at the Italian 3 nights in a row. The Italian was one of the only things we found that was edible. It wasn't great but it was ok. Which leads me to the next thing.........service!!! The service at almost everywhere in the resort was bad. The workers are very slow moving and not friendly. To get a cup of coffee every morning took at least 15 minutes. We didn't understand why they didn't have coffee out at the buffet with all the juices. Instead we had to wait. Most them time by the time we got it, we were about done eating. There were a few nice workers but again, most of them not friendly. We did see a few of the waiters at the Italian Restaurants running around like crazy. We were sure to tip them. There are 2 bars close to the beach. One was the swim-up bar and the other by the beach. That was great except they both close at 6pm. So if you want any drinks after 6 you have to go all the way up front to the lobby which is really inconvenient for the people at that end of the resort. They really need to have one of those bars open later or have another one by the beach that stays open until dark. The train was nice but most of the time it took forever and you could have walked sooner than it would come around. Then a lot of times people would just cut in front of us after we had been waiting. The other tourists there were very rude. That was very irritating. Before we left we tried to exchange some pesos for American money at the exchange booth. They will not exchange anything less than $10. So we felt that exchange booth was kind of useless. They kept saying 250 more pesos. We didn't have any more that is why we wanted to exchange. There are annoying Royal Holiday People everywhere trying to get you to go to a timeshare presentation. We must have got ask at least 6 times a day. That gets real old after about the 3rd time. The people on the beach that try to get you to buy their stuff are annoying as well. All day everyday on the beach are people coming up to you asking if you want to buy cigars, sunglasses, etc. Lastly, for us we think this resort it just too spread out. We prefer being right on the beach with oceanfront view from our room and everything being close. We have been to Mexico several times and we had nothing but great service and great food. We will not be going back to the Bavaro Princess. We were really disappointed because we do not get to go on vacation very much and did not feel we had a great experience. We will go back to Mexico where the resorts are very clean and the workers are so friendly and deserve tips!! I would not recommend going to Bavaro Princess or any of the sister hotels as the Bavaro Princess is supposed to be the nicest one.

Room Tip: We were in the 600's which is only a 2 minute walk to the beach. We had 3 restaurants close to o...

Stayed at Bavaro Princess with a large group of people for a wedding and had a wonderful time. The staff at the resort are very friendly and helpful, got to know our entire group by names.

This was my first time in Punta Cana and the hotel made a great impression. The rooms are spacious with a lot of storage and different window views, ours was facing out into the park which made for a very quiet stay. All rooms have a mini patio with chairs and tables as well and the fridge is refreshed with various drinks daily.

There is pool-side entertainment (by the poolbar) almost every day, an all night buffet, and a handful of a la Carte restaurants that you need to make reservations for (most of them are worth the wait). The drinks are very sweet, almost all of them (accept beer) and the margaritas come out of a machine so don't get your hopes up for an authentic cocktail.

There is no WiFi in the rooms and the paid internet in the lobby is pretty slow but there is complimentary WiFi at the casino just outside the hotel gates.

Room Tip: Rooms not facing the yard are quieter.
