We visited IL Cappuccino as part of 7 day trip to Punta Cana from March 27 to April 3, 2012. Dinner at IL Cappuccino was not planned. Our visit to the restaurant literally began out of a wrong after our cab driver got lost inside the Cap Cana area. What began with confusion ended as one of our favorite evenings from our trip. We dined on the portico and were treated to a fantastic view of the marina.
For starters we had cream of lobster soup which bisque like ($10) and a salad of tomatoes and Burrata mozzarella ($15), both were full of flavor and fresh ingredients. Our main course consisted of a mixed seafood grill ($25) and homemade Gnocchi with Bolognese sauce ($13). Dessert was creamy gelato from their takeout area near the main entrance. Tax, tip and beverages brought our total to about $120 USD.
From the moment we entered the restaurant we experienced five star attentive service in an upscale atmosphere that was not overly ostentatious. Most of the diners wore resort casual clothing and were more than welcomed despite the formal attired wait staff. Water glasses were never empty and the servers was prompt and knowledgeable. IL Cappuccino will definitely be on our future itineraries to Punta Cana. The service, picturesque vistas and great tasting food are certainly worth expense and the time to take a trip off the resort.
