Excellent relaxing beach side resort. Beautiful gardens, stunning pools and a beach to die for! Dining was mostly self service, although there are serviced restaurants as well, but these are very popular and you'll need to queue. The service we recieved was also first class and a special thanks goes out to Yolanda Martinez, who kept our room beautiful, with bath towels, oregami folded into swans and bouganvillea petals around our whirlpool bath; Pilhirils Feliz, our wine & drinks waiter who never let our glasses get emptyand who could not stop smiling and joking throughout all our dinners and finally to Anna Maria, serving the crepes and impressing us with tossing the pancakes! If I had any negatives, it would be the mad rush to reserve your sun lounger with your beach towel (especially if you want to be in the shade of the palm trees) and secondly, the air con struggled against the 30 degree heat (perhaps because we'd come from freezing weather in the UK). All in all, definitely a resort we'd return to!

I loved my first trip in Punta Cana/Grand Palladium! It was amazing! I want say thank you for your beautiful service! Thank you to Sunwing too!!! You're so cheerful and dinamic! The hotel is always clean. I always saw people cleaning! I want say thank you to Margarita Jimenez for your service and your beautiful smile! You were so sweat with us! I want say good luck to Marisol who is expecting a baby! For finish, I say hello to Juan Miguel!! You're funny haha! I will never forget you! I have a picture of you and me hihi! We wanted to get away from the snow and ice to see if the sun still existed. The complex is extensive and the activities are numerous. No matter what you like to eat or do, there is something for everyone. The pools are huge with activities each day. Then the ocean was absolutely sparkling. The temperature was in the eighties every day!!!
Our room/building was just right and always clean. If nothing else, the spacious grounds are excellent for getting in a good walk each day.
With the fourteen different restaurants, one could eat all day and still not cover them all.

The resort is set in a beautiful location. The staff are very helpful, welcoming and friendly. There's plenty of entertainment during day and night, creating a really good atmosphere and there's plenty of leisure activities to do during the day as well! The food and drink quality is great, with a good variety. The rooms and the resort in general are very clean and tidy.

My Wife and I decided it was time for a fun family getaway and got a great deal thru apple vacation. We were so happy. The weather was wonderful the whole time we were there.
My Kids ages 6 and 10 Had a blast. We were all in the Pool and in the Morning we took some strolls on the Beach. The Beach is so nice. The sand so soft. I got my wife a spa treatment she got Deep tissue massage which she loved.
The Staff in the Resort are very nice and helpful especially in the front desk Elvira Hervas, Zoila and Ester.
A BIG SHOUT OUT TO OUR APPLE REP {REGGIE THE MAIN MAN}.
I would definitely come back here again with the whole family.

We were very excited to be going on our honeymoon and staying at what believed to be a 5 star resort. We booked to stay at the Grand Palladium Bavaro. On our arrival we were told that we were infact staying in the Punta Cana section of the resort. This was a disappointment from the word go. We booked this resort on the recommendation of a travel agent, explaining what we wanted from our honeymoon (lots of activities but also time at the pool/beach to relax). Our booking conformation specified Bavaro but we told on arrival that the Bavaro only housed suites but we booked a standard room. In a 5 star resort you expact to have a confortable clean room even if it is a standard room! It took us over an hour to check in during this time there was only another two couples in front of us in the que. Once checked in we were shown to our first room (7515) which was a very unpleasant. There was a strong smell of damp, the room was dirty, an ant infestation in the bathroom, and a sewage smell outside of the buliding. However, we tried to look on the bright side and get on with our honeymoon. On day four we woke to water dripping through the bathroom ceiling. At this point we went to complain to reception, we were told to hand in out luggage at 10 o'clock and return at 3 o'clock to be allocated another room (We informed our Holiday Advisor). We did so and the receptionist then tried to give a room which was on the complaints list! After another wait we were shown to another room (6422) which was an "upgrade". This room was a disaster! Again, the room was dirty and everything seemed to be broken/hanging off the walls. The shower screen looked like it had never seen a cleaning product, the shower drain was broken and someone could easliy cut themselves on it, I tilted the shower head to find the whole wall mount to come off in my hand. The bath was stained and covered in limescale, the shower head wasn't attached to the hose just placed in the holder and the vent on the side of the bath hanging off and also broken. The hairdrier was hanging off the wall, along with other light fittings in the room. The rceiling was covered in what looked like cola which had been sprayed everywhere. We went back to complain and were told we had to stay in that room tonight since it was now too late to move rooms again that day (after 5 o'clock). Next day, same story another wasted day waiting to change rooms. Eventually after being told to return at 3 o'clock and waiting to atleast 4:30 pm we were shown to another upgraded room (2212). This was the block/rooms shown to us by the Travel Agent on booking, and what we thought to be standard but were infact named "Duluxe". This room was also dirty and tired looking but better than our previous two rooms. However, everything appeared to work (hairdryer,tv etc). Fed up with moving and wasting days of our honeymoon we accepted this room. Now for the food: horrific! The food was no way 5 star. In my opinion the food halls were very unsafe to anyone who have allergies because there didn't seem to be any procautions inplace when using high risk foods. When being prepared everything was done in the same used bowls as the previous guest request (meats,cheese etc). The sevice in the food hall was less than satisfactory also. Tables were never clean and on the rare occasion the table cloth was changed you then had to wait for someone else to bring you cutlery which was a timely action (staff would never give you cutlery if you went and asked for it, had to place on tables themselves). You then had to wait for someone to take your drink order, if they ever came to ask. On numerous occassions we had eaten our food and left without even being asked! If you decided to have a dessert you then had to chance someone down to get a spoon which then took ages to make its way to the table. We found the staff extreamly rude and difficult to communicate with. As for the A La Cart resturtants there wasn't any point in standing waiting hours for a table as they were a huge let down too! We went as a party of six to the Steak house on the last night, it took 15 minutes to get a drink, then someone took our order. Onother person brought the starters, mine was wrong so sent it back. I waited another 15 minutes for mine (wasn't a difficult dish). Someone else then brought 5 of the main courses. I waited 25 minutes form this point to get my main course. After complaining to 3 different members of staff someone eventually brought my main course. I had ordered the chicken sandwhich which had 1 tiny piece of chicken on it (smaller than my pinky finger). This was then sent back to the kitchen with my complaints and then after 35 minutes in total I eventually got what I ordered. Everyone else in the party had ordered steak cooked to different orders but when the waiter was asked which was which he could respond and placed any steak down. I should also mention that as we were in the Punta Cana section we could not make A La Cart bookings but on one eveing we had enquired with out Holiday Advisor if it might be possible for my husband and I along with another honeymoon couple make a reservation. My husband was told there was no bookings available but Guest Services. The other couple also asked and were told by GUEST SEVICES TO OPEN A TRIP ADVISOR ACCOUNT, MAKE A GOOD REVIEW AND THEN GUEST SERVICES WOULD TRY AND MAKE A RESERVATION FOR A LA CART. This is bribary! Now for the facilites: The Travel Agent informed us that the beach was private, this is untrue Bavaro is a pulic beach which is cramed with loungers and "looky looky" men. You are constantly harrassed by people trying to sell you things (this also happened in the resort). During our stay a dead body washed up on the beach on week one of our honeymoon. The pools are average, we found that in 2 different pools there was light fittings floating about with wires in the water. The shops on the resort were very expensive with a box of Pringles costing $6. The mini golf didn't have the putting holes cut out the astrograss. The entertainment didn't start until 10pm by which point we felt was too late. I would never recomend this hotel to anyone, our honeymoon was a total disaster and waste of money! To top it all off we were delaid 24 hours on our way home and hadto spend an extra night in this hell hole! Never again will we return to the Dominica Republic or stay with this hotel chain. Useless!

This was the second time we have been to this resort and it was wonderful. We plan on returning at least once a year.
The beach is gorgeous!!!! Best one I have ever seen.
Food is good, drinks are good. Can not find anything bad to say.

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor facing the pool and it has a nice view.
