“Great Family Vacations”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2013

We vacationed at The Reserve only for a few days in November. My husband did not even want to go. He kept saying that the short stay was not worth going through all the trouble of getting there. Boy did he change his tune now. He loved the place and so did my daughter. The weather was perfect, temperature was in upper 80' and it only rained once. The beach was great, clean and inviting. (Special thanks to "Crazy Mike" who always made sure that we had a good spot to sit in and plenty of towels and drinks.). Our hotel room was clean and spacious and the whirpool tub was unforgettable. People working at the Gaby buffet were exceptional, Candida Pacheco and Juanilin Figuera in particular. They made us feel very special every day with their above and beyond service. I would also like to issue special thanks to Sandra Cedeno who helped me find my husband when we got separated by accident. In conclusion the place is exceptional and very friendly (even ground keepers are welcoming, Patricio whose last name escapes me especially). They are very kids oriented and have great child play facilities. This was one of our best vacations yet. We are making plans to go there again.

We are heading into Day 3 at the Punta Cana Paradisus Reserve and FULLY wow'ed by the experience so far and I must declare that we have VERY high expectations. At check in, we were greeted by the Reserve Manager, Silvio and our Family Concierge "Ovi" and provided with an incredible personalized warm greeting which made our arrival fabulous. The resort is just incredible; the grounds are immaculate; the beach beautiful and fun to play in the surf/waves and pools galore. The rooms beyond gorgeous and comfortable. Overall, we are super happy with the experience and look forward to it to continue. I just wanted to share this for those of you in the process of making a quick decision for your December/January get away. You will be very happy with this choice. More to come from us!

My family( two boys age 10 and 8) and I had one of our best thanksgivings ever relaxing at The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana. After an exhaustive search of Internet reviews we settled on The Reserve at Paradisus and we were not disappointed. On arrival we upgraded to the larger family concierge room although in retrospect for the four of us the smaller room would've been fine since we spent very little time in the room.
The reserve is a very family oriented resort with excellent staff who know how to treat kids and their families very well. It all began with Nikel our Family Concierge who we met after checking in. He made it extremely low stress by planning our entire week, reserving meals at the restaurants for my family and also reserving our cabana at the beach daily. He also reserved bicycles, which are free, for us to use for the week which made getting around the campus quick and fun. He also provided us a cell phone which we could use to contact him 24 hours a day. All we had to do is relax and enjoy ourselves.
The people at this resort are what make it truly wonderful. They are so helpful and friendly and always smiling. I would like to mention several employees who truly stood out as being exceptional. In addition to Nikel, Julio Garcia, Henry Montero, and Jose David at the Gabi Club bar were terrific. They were so much fun to be around and made us feel like family. Mikey Mike( "My Family, My Family!) at the Family Concierege beach area knew his families by name and made his rounds taking orders for drinks and snacks so you could just relax in the waves or in the sun.
The staff made it very easy to just be with my kids and my wife and spend wonderful family time together without having to worry about much of anything.
If you're looking for a low stress, relaxing, fun vacation then you can't go wrong with The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana.

Me and my husband stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and we couldn't have made a better choice. Everything is fabulous and really clean. Our room had a pool view and it was really comfortable, and near from Gabi Club, where we had an amazing breakfast everyday.
Throughout the hotel have a lot of green areas with absolutely gorgeous gardens and, unlike what we could expect, we weren't surprised by any kind of bugs, anywhere...
We had the chance to see other hotels' beaches and, in comparison, The Reserve offers the best service and accommodations. The employees are very polite and effortless to please you.
Sandra Cedeño, a really nice concierge, offered us a 5* service and made our stay memorable.
About the restaurants, Acqua definitely exceeded our expectations but Fuego does not stays behind. If there were anything to improve, it would be the restaurants vegetarian friendliness, although, they still win for the effort.

The resort is wonderfull. Huge are but well structured to allow for both the Family & Adults to enjoy and have a great vacation. Beach is beautiful, pristine clear blue water, nice, smooth white sand. Sandra, Ovido and Lusia at the The Reserve are excellent host. They do care and make sure the stay is comfortable so you do not have to worry about anything but just relax, enjoy and have fun. The guys at Hydro Grill at the Gabi Pool - Melvin and Romoe are awesome. Rafeal & Alisia at the Club Melia were great too! Food at some of the restaurant was average but the service was good.

Room Tip: The room at the Reserve are great. Close to all Main looby, Gabi Pool and Kids Zone.

Just came back from the Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana and it was truly a five-star resort within the larger Paradisus Punta Cana complex. They really do cater to families especially those with younger children as my boys were ages 3 and 2.

Pros: The resort is as stunning as the reviews and pictures state. Its clearly has a modern zen-type vibe and the grounds, buildings, décor, vegetation are all reflective of this. The staff are outgoing, friendly and eager to please and this applies to the building concierge, the groundskeepers, housekeeping, wait staff, hostesses, everybody who works there. We stayed in building 42 and were blessed to have Iris Soriano as our primary family concierge. She is out of this world phenomenal at her job, she loves it and is well deserving of a management position so she can share, mentor and teach others the art of service. This resort is all about the extras, the kids had a surprise bubble bath filled with balloons waiting for them in the room after a day at the pool and beach. We had chocolates and little cakes delivered to us after dinner without having to ask. They are just so eager to please you. Rooms were exactly what you see in the pictures. We had a one-bedroom master suite and we definitely not on top of other another. Lots of space and room to relax. Room service was 24/7 and super decent so feel free to opt for this if you have young kids and getting them to sit at dinner is a challenge. We had a separate dining room and living room so it was like a condo without a full kitchen. Beds are huge, soft and comfy as are the pillows. Getting drinks was never an issue, finding a spot by the kids pool under a huge lounger or a tiki hut was super easy and the Reserve beach was gorgeous and well equipped with lots of towels, lounge chairs, shade and palm trees. The kids zone is out of this world, something for all ages from babies to teens. They had a huge play enclosure that kids could climb in and slide down. Activities galore, even a spa for older girls to enjoy. The YHI spa is pretty good but somewhat steep price wise so be sure you know the cost before the service. The food is really good, typically you would expect to come back from a trip having gained 10 pounds because the food is gross however because there is such an emphasis on health and wellbeing you'll find the food is healthy and inventive. Sure you can eat junky if that's your thing but if you are offered and suggested healthier alternatives why not? The Grill and Bana are very good as is the Gabi Club and the Hydro Grill. Beach and pools are gorgeous, clean and super family friendly. You wont find any supermodels here or guys who clearly spend their days in the gym. Its just average, everyday people, hanging out and playing with their kids. What more could you ask for? Is it expensive yes but its not as expensive as the other rated, over priced Beaches resorts. It is value added and you get what you pay for.

Is there room for improvement sure, nothing is perfect and my only suggestion would be that some, not all, but some employees who deal directly with guests need to improve their understanding of English as it was difficult to communicate basic things. In particular those who work in the restaurants, other concierges (not Iris~she's perfect) and housekeeping. I'm just suggesting that staff be offered English courses, at the expense of Melia resorts, so that they may improve their conversational English and thus provide better customer service. Another suggestion would be to add more trolleys, we went at the end of low season i.e. Nov 23-28th and it still took a while to get a trolley, can't imagine how long the wait is during high season.

Will definitely return to the Reserve although I might try the one at the Palma Real just so I can see what its like. I've heard its directly on the beach with no obstructive views and is pretty breathtaking.

Room Tip: If you are a family with young kids book a one-bedroom master suite so you will have enough room for...

As someone who stayed at the paradisus before -in 2000- I though I knew what to expect. The most memorable thing was the beauty of the resort. What wasn't quite as impressive was the food or service. Niether was bad, just average. So when I booked this vacation as part of my wife's birthday celebration I simply expected a beautiful beach vacation to share with family and friends. What I found , however, was even more beauty plus great food and excellent service. With the addition of the Reserve, the rooms and facilities are luxurious to match the stunning grounds. The food was never less than good and in many cases excellent. We particularly enjoyed Fuego, Mole and the Grill. Service at these restaurants was again excellent with constant attention, prompt service, and special accommodations when needed(think kids). Finally, special praise for the building concierge feature at the Reserve and particularly ours Yenifer Vaidero. Of course they did the usual such as make restaurant reservations, but with my wife's birthday I had special requests. Our concierge, Yennifer dedicated several hours making sure every detail was perfect including ones I didnt specifically request. She even set some decorations herself and then attended the event to orchestrate a team of servers to make sure it ran smoothly. I definitely recommend paradisus and the Reserve is worth it.
