Recommended length of visit: More than 3 hours
Owner description: This excursion is available for guests of the Bayahibe, Dominicus and La Romana hotels and Punta Cana resorts. The Catalina & Chavon tour is a half day snorkel excursion to the island Catalina. The excursion combines the sea and the jungle, nature and culture, and poor and rich. This is a perfect tour for when you want a lot of variation and diversity in your outing. We will snorkel at the Living Museum of the Sea, where in 2007 the wreck of captain William Kidd was discovered. Followed by snorkeling of the beach of Catalina in the aquarium. We will peek at the rich along the coat of Casa de Campo. You will experience a jungle cruise through the breathtaking gorge of the Chavon River...This all-encompassing tour is ideal for children and offers great value as a family excursion (not a “booze cruise”). Tortuga Cruise again offers a fully jam-packed fun half day emphasizing ecology and the preservation of nature while creating memories of a lifetime.

“Wonderful beach day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2013

If you like a great beach with good facilities, you should try this one. We recently stopped for the day during our cruise on the Seabourn Sojourn - what fun! Great water, soft sand and helpful staff.

“Tips”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2013

Be prepared to pour a bucket of water to flush the island toilet.

Beware - you are not at the safe resort - be careful with food (anything left out for hours), drink (draft beer/water) and boat safety.

Lobsters - $25-$30 USD but can be had for less.

Can get hair braided on the beach by the locals.

Nice, hard working locals.

Your hotel beach may be nicer and cleaner.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

Went to Isla Catalina for a diving adventure which it truly was. I booked the trip through Scuba Quatic who were very professional and knowledgeable. My divemaster was "Waldo" who was very helpful. The scenery on the first dive "wall" was beautiful but the "aquarium" dive was amazing! Beautiful fish and coral abound. Saw spotted rays on the dive. Lunch was good and plentiful complete with soda, beer and rum. The only downside was the travel time was close to 2 hours to get there. But I would do it again in a heartbeat and look forward to diving there when I return again - this time taking my camera on the second dive and not leaving it on the boat. This is an all day adventure and a must see even if you only snorkel!!

Booked with Iberostar services and felt like an exclusive beach with barbeque lunch. We also had all drinks included on the boat .
