We booked this holiday a year before to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. The hotel was immaculate so spotlessly clean, you almost didn't want to wash your hands in the bathroom for fear of leaving a water mark on the basin! Even the beach was spotless. The staff were very happy and couldn't do enough for you, we were made to feel very special every day, especially the birthday day when our room was decorated with banners and balloons and we had fruit and champagne, the evening meal was in the steak restaurant, which was fabulous, we ate the 3 times, we had a birthday cake especially made and a fanfare of singing and bongo drums, a .lovely touch! The beds were so comfy, and huge, the shower was powerful, can't fault the room.
I've read other reviews about the pressure of selling (like timeshares) our front of house Rodney, did offer this to us he told us about the free gifts but was very honest and there was no pressure at all from him, we declined the offer and he was still as attentive to us as on day 1.
I would highly recommend this hotel it's the best hotel for me so far, I had a fantastic holiday everything was perfect!

We stayed at the Royalton Punta Cana May 13th through the 20th with 2 of our kids aged 13 and 10. After reading several reviews I wasn't sure if we picked the right resort, but I can assure you we did! One of the complaints was there was not enough English speaking people. That couldn't be farther from the truth. But having said that if you want all English speaking people stay in the US. This is their country and it is a Spanish speaking country. If you want to complain either learn spanish or stay in America. There were no issues as most of them speak multiple languages. Another complaint was the lounge chairs being taken early. Easy fix: get up early and save yours. What I learned was the people that complain about this are the ones that want to sleep in late then expect everyone to leave them chairs open. Play the game and get up and save your chairs and there isn't any problems. Another was the shows not being good. This is not Branson or Las Vegas… If you expect top notch entertainment go to one of those spots. The shows were very entertaining especially the Michael Jackson show. Yes they do lip sync… the king of pop is no longer with us. What do you expect. The shows were all great and if you don't like them then don't watch. Now with the review… we arrived with cool wet towels and a welcome drink. They treat you like royalty from the moment you arrive until the minute you leave. Check in was a breeze and we were in our rooms and out on the beach in 30 minutes. The food was excellent at all places. Our personal favorite was Hunters, the buffet, the Sushi bar and the Italian restaurant. Service is great at all. We brought several ones and fives for tips as they work very hard and are very friendly people. Although they do not expect tips, please don't be a jerk. You tip when you go out to eat in the US so tip there too. The buffet changes every day so you have different varieties. The breakfast buffet has every fresh juice imaginable. We usually ate lunch on the beach as they cook hamburgers and fries by the pool area you can get and take anywhere. They were very good. The bars we're great. I brought my own big cup and wold recommend you do the same. They gladly fill it up with El Presidente beer or any mixed drink you could want. There are activities everywhere if you are willing to get up and go find them (pool volleyball, beach volleyball, horseshoes, ring toss, beach soccer, zumba, ect) If you participate they will come find you to play other games. Makes it much more enjoyable if you get active. The ocean and beach are fabulous! Clear turquoise blue water and white powder sand. Only negatives... I would watch f the main guy at the activities center as he is shady. Watch him! I had a couple of issues with him when we booked our scuba diving. However Robert (the sales rep) is awesome and does everything he can to inform you of the activities and makes sure you are taken care of. Also when you get off the airplane you are bombarded with people wanting you to buy this or pay for that. If you don't keep your head about you, you will spend 200 before you realize what you just did. You do have to buy a tourist pass for 10 usd a piece. You do NOT have to convert any money to pesos as the american dollar is accepted everywhere. Don't let them fool you into thinking you have to like they did us. If you do they keep a large percentage for themselves. Frankie at the photoshop is very good. He isn't pushy and he does a very good job taking pictures. Highly recommend him. He was a lot of fun to talk to. And finally Junior at Dips pool/beach bar is unbelievable. He made our 2 girls feel like family. Everytime they went up there he fixed them whatever they wanted and by the end of the first day he knew there names and what they liked to drink. He would find us on the beach and bring us drinks. He went above and beyond! Royalton has a keeper in all these guys. If your thinking about going do so without thinking twice! It is well worth it!! The complaints you read are 95% from people that couldn't be pleased no matter what you do. I mean they expect a country to change their language to English for them and think there staying at the Ritz. They expect things that they wouldn't be willing to do. This resort is very well worth the money and you have access to Memories restaurants and waterpark which is awesome. We spent a couple hours everyday over there. Book it and you will not be sorry. We have been to Mexico, the Bahamas, and several other places and this ranks in the top. We are definitely going to go back. Finally a big shout out to Robert, Frankie, Jose (at the other bar) and especially Junior! Thank you guys for making this a vacation to remember.

My family of 6, 2 grandparents, 2 mom and dad and 2 young kids stayed for 7 nights in late May.
Here are things we liked:
-the size of resort- very manageable especially kids. Not too big, not too small
-Food at the buffet- I don't know why I bothered to book restaurants(except maybe the steak house). Love the pasta station, spagetti with meat sauce is liked by my 2 yr old through out the trip. Tons of varieties and higher quality food for buffet. There were roasted duck and freshly grilled beef and fish. High quality cheese and smoked salmon and caviar(well, the 'cheap' kind).
Lots of fresh fruits.
-Comfortable bed- Loved their mattresses and the pullout couch and full size crib were very good and comfortable.

Now the negatives..mostly minor.
-Bathroom! Who designed their bathrooms??? The most annoying hotel bathroom I've dealt with. Faucet is too short so the water splashes everywhere. The shower had opening on top of the door so the water'd spalsh everywhere..the whole bathroom turned into a pool.
- Services at buffet. Not sure if it's because they don't have enough staff or because they are more concerned about taking away dirty plates but most of the time, I had to get my own drinks and water. Sometimes, servers forgot to pour water unless I track them down.
- Shows at night. (this may not bother everyone) for whatever reason, they were not using the theater space they had so every night at 9:30, they would have an outdoor show with music blasting. Something to think about famiilies with kids who go to sleep early. Music can be heard loudly inside the room.
- Lounge chairs and umbrella...can't stand those people who just leave towels at the prime spots and never come to use them. I think the hotel can use more lounge chairs and umbrella around the main pool area as they were always full.
- Those photo people at the photo shop. part my fault but basically paid $150 for one CD containing 15 lousy photos.

I spent the week at Royalton Punta Cana on a trip that was half business, half pleasure and I must say that it is one of the best resorts I have stayed at in the Caribbean and Mexico. Palatial and sumptuous but also chic and modern, the hotel boasts impressive view from the Lobby area, fine dinning with a la carte Restaurants that range from Japanese to a Steak House and even a Tapas Bar, which became one of my favorites. The food quality and variety was superb and the entertainment was awesome. A live band plays live almost every evening in the central courtyard, right on platform over a water feature that resembles a large boat sail. I love the staff service and friendliness. Always meeting you and greeting you with a smile on their face and a ¨Buenos Dias¨ I absolutely recommend this hotel to those looking for a relaxing, top-notch vacations and wanting to be pampered from beginning to end.

Room Tip: The splunge pool romos are the absolute best.

When booking this hotel i was completely sure that i made the right decision, my 6 year old dauther and i went from May 26 to May 30, i thought that i would get born, being that it was the first time her and i went along to a resort, well think again, there were so many activies to do that we wanted to stay one more day and did. Where to start, the waterpark, amazing, well kept and fun for all, the kids area of the waterpark was perfect, safe and clean, we had a blast, all througout the resort there was something to do, they make it a point to make everything possible, did not hear the word no ever, the food was amazing, ussually all inclusive food in not as good, the free wifi througt the entire hotel, even at the beach, a plus for my 6 year old and her Ipad for when ever i wanted to just sit and relax. Planning on going back soon, will recommend, very family oriented hotel, and at the same time quite areas for people that don't like too much noise.

one thing would recommend, was the night show at the plaza, good shown, but there was not sitting, it would be nice if at night, they had some sort of confortable seating at the Plaza area or something so that people don't have to sit on the floor, everything esle was just perfect. Best vacation ever.....

I have payed allot more money and didn't get what this resort offers. A great value! go ahead and book it. Rooms great. Food great. Beach great, Diamond Club beach bar great. We will return and will look into staying at other royalton resorts in the the future.

Must visit this resort. Well staffed, clean rooms and excellent food, top notch chefs! Must do the Marinarium while there, see Nelson on board he really is a delight! A must is Punta Cana Mike! You have to book in advanced. You will not be disappointed, he will take you to visit the most wonderful kids at their school, also look him up, they really need school supplies and it's on his web site.

Room Tip: I would recommend no more than 2 people to a room, we had 1028 bottom floor and loved the access to...
