We needed a place to stay for 2 nights upon arriving in Punta Cana. We aren't all-inclusive travelers and found El Cortecito Inn. It was $100 for two nights. The room was dirty when we got there, stains in the tub, dirt on the floor etc. The bed was really uncomfortable/hard, I was sore from sleeping on it for two days. We didn't see any bugs. Breakfast was coffee, eggs and bacon. I asked for fruit but they didn't have any-weird for DR. The parking was private and guarded which was nice. There are men all over Punta Cana with shot guns to guard things: parking lots, restaurants etc. We didn't have a problem at all with security. It wasn't a terrible place to stay, it's what you get for the money. It was right in town and across the street is a great restaurant named "Captain Cook" great seafood. Not many people were around...then again most of the people staying in Punta Cana are at all inclusive resorts.
