I went for a concert and shared a room with 2 friends for the night. This kind of hotel is normally WAY out of my budget, but split 3 ways, made it more affordable. It is very beautiful, almost gives the feeling of walking around your own palace. The staff was very friendly when an outlet in the bathroom blew, they had a maintenance person in our room within minutes. I never had a chance to see the beach view or pool as I left only there for the concert and left 12 hrs later. The main court yard has fabulous fountains and shops. The room and very lovely furniture and was laid out in a usable manner with a walk through bathroom from the hallway and the master bedroom.

Recently, my significant other and I and two other couples traveled to the Dominican Republic and booked this resort. We booked our trip through Expedia and purchased the hotel transport through Blue Travel. Upon landing at the airport and getting our bags we went to the Blue Travel desk and were immediately taken to our hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, the bellman took our bags and we were introduced to Franklin who showed us around the hotel. He was so nice and knowledgeable and helpful! We were blown away by the beauty of this resort. It was clean, it was inviting, it felt like our home away from home! The people in the Dominican are so incredibly nice and we felt like we were royalty. From the time we got there to the time we left I would say there was not one thing that went wrong. We did not upgrade to the Royal Service, and I don't know that it was really worth it to upgrade as we were able to get into any restaurants we wanted to and if you ask for the better alcohol in the non-royal service areas you can get it. The restaurants were all great with plenty of options. We also took the yoga class at the Yhi Spa and it was amazing! Plenty of things to do, day or night, and plenty of options for food. The resort had performances of some sort every night and we were always very entertained. I highly recommend going to this resort - it was simply perfect and wonderful! We will be back, for sure! This resort exceeded our expectations by many, many miles!

Room Tip: We didn't spend much time in our room, so honestly I wouldn't worry about what kind of "...

After an excruciatingly long winter in Connecticut, we could have not asked for a better getaway. The resort is breathtakingly beautiful and meticulously maintained. The Royal Service option is definitely worth the splurge. Our butler, Johnfi Rivera, was extremely attentive and went out of his way to make sure that our vacation was relaxing, fun, and stress-free. The entire staff was friendly and made you feel immediately at home. Our favorite restaurants were Palazzo and Passion. Passion is a once in a lifetime dining experience. It does cost a bit extra, but your taste buds will never be the same. We chose the tasting menu option with the wine pairings. The sommelier, Santo Salazar, presented five wines that will blow your mind. Our waiter, Jorge Luis Rivera was also outstanding and fun. The waitstaff at both Passion and Palazzo were top notch. The Royal Service breakfast at Palazzo is to die for. The egg/pancake/crepe chef cooks anything you want like a boss. We also had fun talking to the Royal Service juice/smoothie chef, Jorge, who not only made incredible smoothies, but helped us a lot with our Spanish. You'll have a blast talking to him! To work up an appetite/fit in our bathing suits, we took advantage of the many aerobics/dance classes. Francisco Macdonna "Big Mac," Angel, and Dariyana were our favorite instructors and also put on great shows at night in the theater or in front of the Avenue Bar. The rooms were clean, we slept like babies, and we cried when we returned home to our lives without caviar and butlers. Go here!!!

Room Tip: Choose Royal Service and everything will be amazing!

I was a guest in the Royal Service area of the property. Johnfi was our butler. He was amazing. I highly recommend this hotel and the Royal Service. If you are fortunate enough to get Johnfi, all the better.

My wife and I along with some close friends stayed at the resort for seven days. It was an amazing place. I will break down my experience using pros and cons:

PROS:
*The food is excellent, especially at Palazzo; we went there twice. You may have to pay an additional fee ($25) to eat there depending on your package, but it was well worth it! Overall, all the included restaurants were absolutely delicious! PLEASE by all means, make your dinner reservations when you arrive at the resort.

*Freddy Lopez, bartender at the Sky Bar was the best. He kept the drinks flowing and always provided service with a smile!

* The room was beautiful and equipped with everything we needed to enjoy a stress-free vacation. Our room even had a washer and dryer.

*The staff would always check to see if things were fine and were there to lend a helping hand.

*Room service and housekeeping was awesome. They turn your sheets down at night and place chocolates on your bed...nice touch.

CONS:
*One of the restaurants was recently involved in a fire and there was construction taking place. We could hear the noise of the construction from our room.

*Poor internet/Wi-Fi connection in the room. I had to go the resort lobby and/or the breakfast buffet area in order to get any type of connection.

*Beware of the "store vendors" that walk along the beach asking you to visit their stores (Dominican Wal-Mart, Macys, Payless, etc). It is not worth your time as these vendors sell souvenirs and other useless items. Many of these items are located in the resort's store.

-------WE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN TO THIS RESORT-------
