We exchanged our HGVC points to book through RCI at this property. We were made to feel somewhat special when an RCI rep sought us out and said he was our personal concierge. That translated to - he can book meals for us but he'd appreciate us going to a Melia resorts timeshare presentation. We had a week at the property, so we did - and had our 7 yr old in tow for it. We actually considered buying into it, but said we needed a night to think it over. And the representatives couldn't have gotten out of there faster and said they could not be reached by phone the next day? Our "concierge" promised us a resort credit for listening to the timeshare pres but we could NEVER find him again in order to get it! That really bothered us.

The property itself was really nice, however, and very spread out with a phenomenal beach and view. We didn't like the way the restaurant reservation system worked (kind of a racket and who wants to work that hard while on vacation) and we felt there needed to be more "take away" food to go back to your room. There wasn't much! The language barrier was difficult at times. Horrible WiFi - it worked in the lobby and that was about it.

Overall we were very satisfied. The service was great and food was actually very good. The dinner reservation system is a hassle as mentioned in other reviews. Also made mistake with room reservation. Our biggest complaint would be the smoking everywhere.

Paradisus Palma Real truly was the best family vacation ever! We stay for 1 week in July. My wife, kids and I looked forward to this summer vacation and were not disappointed. The service was exceptional, the resort had lots of activities for adults and children, food and service experience were excellent! I recommend to try the Passion restaurant and asked for Yeaudy (sp). My wife and I felt like royalty. it is a fine dinning romantic experience you cannot miss. I cannot wait to go back to this hotel again!

Very good hotel with all the amenities you can imagine for a family vacations. Very good service with some pockets of opportunities in some areas. Good food quality and variety of restaurants (9 Restaurants in total) all inclusive. Some of the Restaurants charge an extra cost but definitively worth it (Passion Restaurant by Martin Berazategui - 7 Michelin Starts Chef ) - JUst avoid Gabi Beach Restaurant, not worth to pay extra. Better repeat Market Grill to eat lobster or other Asian restaurant
Concierge service is excellent and they take care of all your needs during your stay, reservations, hotel tour, additional activities outside the hotel (Golf, fishing, other tours, Dolphin tour, etc

Some opportunities:
- Very poor or no internet in the room and swiming pool area. Mentioned that was under maintenance but could not use during my 10 days in the hotel. Only in the Business center it was ok
- Swiming pool bar: Only 1 Bar for a gigantic pool and only 1 or 2 people attending it. Too slow and poor service. Not as friendly as all other people in other areas.
- Kids Club is excellent but it is in other Hotel so need to take a Golf Cart to go to leave the Kid and then go back to pick it up. Not ideal...
- Show in the night are mix. Some are good some others are really poor...
- Watch out with the Shampoo in the room that it is really bad and it does not make any foam. Take yours or buy another in the Hotel store.
- Opportunity to have a person with more Golf Knowledge and information about golfing in other Golf Courses. All info need to get personally in the Gold Academy of Cocotal Golf Course

Room Tip: Has Free WI Fi however it was not working. Ask for a room close to the Lobby and in the ground floor.

We were at Paradisus for * nights staying in Royal Services we Loved the service, food and in particular our butler, Manuel. He was unobtrusive but very helpful checking in with us daily . A nice variety of restaurants. Every restaurant we ate at was very good, and the 2 mile beach, and multiple pools were gorgeous. Used the spa as well, very nice prefer the beach massage to the hut style service as it was quite hot and not as enjoyable if they use sheets rather then towels to cover you with it would have been more comfortable. from the moment you arrive you feel like it's a special vacation. The disappointment was one restaurant was close also the casino was closed for remodeling. I know these things need to be done to keep a property nice but feel our travel agent should have known and mentioned it to us while decided where to stay. Housekeeping was wonderful, Juice bar on the beach so nice Jourge as creating a fun drink. No problem wit getting reservations for restaurants always able to get the time we wanted for our schedule. However getting times so do the snorkeling, and sail boat reservations were hard to get since they only have them timed for once a day and you can't reserve more than a day ahead. I don't think without the help of our butler we could have taken advantage of these things. The boat doesn't go out very far but you will see a nice variety of fish. Better than a paid for trip we took for $110 each!
The opportunity to upgrade, and the 300 dollar upgrade credit was a bit of a farce because there was no availability to upgrade at any point. Don't get to excited about the coupons that are part of a package you may get most have so many restrictions is real has little true value and if you are in royal service the restaurant are already included so you don't need the coupon any. We would stay here again but Royal service was defiantly the way to go.

Room Tip: Beach view was great didn't feel the need for the ocean front
