My cousin and I spent a week at the Zoetry Agua in September and the only down side was having to return home to England.

On arrival we were greeted with welcome drinks and a hot towel to freshen up. The staff were attentive and friendly at all times and nothing you asked for was made to seem like it was to too much of a chore.

The resort is a very quiet and although the majority of the guest were couples/honey mooners, we were not made to feel out of place.

Unlike some of the other hotels Zotery is very relaxing and allows you to escapre from the chaos.

The staff are what made this holdiay for my cousin and I. They are most certainy the best team that I have come across and I like to travel alot.

I would recommend this hotel (and have done) to anybody who is looking for something very special. It really is a trip of a lifetime and you will not be dissapointed.

The views are amazing, the rooms were lovely the food is delicious. If you want a trip of a life time then this is the place to be.

The only thing I should point out is that it is not really suitable for Children and there is no childrens entertainment at the resort.

Alain, we would just like to say you have a wonderful team and thank you for the wine pairing evening it was very interesting. You along with your team always greeted us wth a smile.

Maggi, by the time you have read this, you may be a mother. Congratulations, you were always smiling and for a lady about to give birth you did a fantastic job.

Anny, Miguel, Roberto, Eddie,Oscar and Juan, the front of house team simply amazing and always ready to help with any enquries, Thank you

Pedro and Francisco, thank you for the amazing cocktails, I will try and recreate The Bob Marley at home.

Fernado, Flor, Yahara, Juan Antonio, Warton, Franklin, thank you for excellent waiting service. You were always very helpful and knew what we wanted and always tried to accomodate our request.

Oscar and Benjamin, thank you for being all rounders. Always there to help whenever we needed anything.

Francis and Chily, thank you guys for keep us entertained and always being able to put everyone in a good mood.

Chrisitian and Christian, thank you both.

Joselo, for always laundering and Iron our clothes.

There are many more people that I woud llike to thank but may not know their names. So can I just say thank you to everyone at The Zooetry, i will almost certainly be returnign again.

place was a small boutique hotel... all the great things about a beach resorts with the peace and quiet and the special care of a small hotel. The staff was the best in all the Caribbean and they make you feel welcome and at home. everyone goes out of their way to give you a good experience and they are quick to address anything that you may not be happy about.

This place is definitely for people looking for a relaxing vacation... the guests are all like minded and the only noise you will hear is the ocean.

A few issues we had had to do with the air-conditioner not cooling the room properly and the mosquitoes... if you put on repellent and keep reapplying you wont be bothered... but not something I expected to do and paid the price for it!

Shout-out to Franklin, Juan Antonio, Victor Manuel Vargas del paraiso, Walton, Flor, Eduardo
Franklin... these guys are just AWESOME... they take care of you like family and cater to your every need. Chely - entertainment extraordinaire... always cracking a joke and having fun. El Torito - makes a killer paella and anything else you can think of!... finally Rosalia with the fastest coco delivery in the world!. All of it wound't be possible without Ambioris - food and beverage manager - being on top of everything... checking on all the guests and making sure everyone is being attended to and having a good time.

Room Tip: Aqua rooms are a must... look for those closes to the ocean.

Thank you for sharing with others your experience in Zoetry hotel.

We are happy to know you enjoyed your stay, despite to some issues, that we really apologize.

The A/C problem was fixed ASAP, and we are fumigating almost every day, plus the repellents in all suites, but sometimes that happen in caribbean countries like ours; but once again, so sorry for the bad moments.

Thank you for mentioned part of the staff, who make possible good times to guests, and we hope to welcome you again and show you our improves.

First off let me start by saying we are bot uppity or big complainers by ANY means.. But i did not get the bang for the buck.. I agree with the prior reviewer.. We where just at this resort from Oct 8th- Oct 13th..

Pros
- The food was great and there wasn't anything I tried that I didn't like
- The rooms are beautiful. I had the suite Caribe with private pool and it was mostly relaxing.
-The outdoor shower was AMAZING!

Cons
Where to start?
- I understand how language may be an issue, yes, we are in the DM.. BUT, I swear it's like they know a few key phrases, but don't understand a thing you say or ask back! Anything I tried to communicate about was an issue and a hassle.. With that said,
- They don't try to accommodate your wishes as much as they promise. Just going over to dreams (a 5 min SCARY ride) was 17$ USD each way. They wouldn't set it up for us the day we asked stating it was a 24hr notice. Then, I made plans to go the following day due to the "24hr notice" but when we showed up the following day they seemed confused and said they would call us a taxi.. Why couldn't they have done that the day before!?!
- BEWARE OF THE AIR CONDITIONING AND CONSTRUCTION.. The first two nights we where there the air did not work! Imagine, 90 degrees and humid with NO AIR.. I got plenty of different excuses everyday we where there.. They dont have any screens either so even when it was colder outside then in our room we couldnt get any breeze! The construction was annoying. Luckily our room wasn't too close but we still had the occasional loud cart going by our room. But that wasn't too bad. But the fact that our outdoor shower was right on the workers path was a bit sketchy. They do a good job to make sure it's entirely covered but it's still unnerving..
- Suite Caribe is not entirely "private" by the way.. There are open slates in the fence so if you get this room to do some nude sun bathing (hey, don't judge me!) it may not suit you.. People can see thru those slates (not easily, but they can) when walking by..
- we never got a "do not
Disturb sign." so when I made one and stuck it in the door, they came
In our front living area to leave a note anyway about not disturbing us.. Um, I was laying out in our backyard sunbathing.. I didn't want anyone to step foot in there for a reason. Hence the "do not disturb sign.. Anyway..
- DONT do the deep sea fishing.. Ill leave it at that..
- personally, the drinks at the bar where not so good. No consistency.. You could ask for a drink and depending on the bar tender you would get different drinks..
- DON'T forget anything like sunscreen.. I somehow forgot it and they wanted 34$ for a small can of spray 80 proof banana boat sunscreen.. YIKES.

Over all really what it comes down to is I feel like I overpaid for a so-so vacation..

I had to of read about 100 reviews months and months before this vacation and 3 big complaints where..

1) Mosquitos - I got a few bites but they honestly make a great Effort to fumigate..

2) air conditioning- its now one big unit for the whole resort.. They have temp controls in your room but the one employee explained that you can't change the temp to say "cooler".. So now when the air conditioning breaks the whole resort is screwed.. It's cooler but it's still never really got cooler then 78 degrees and muggy..

3) The food - its the same menu all week at each place.. It never changes.. So although the food is good, it gets boring really fast..

We are truly sorry your experience was disappointing and hope you can give us a chance in the future.

In the meantime, let us please address the major issues you mention, as follows, accordingly:

- The official language of the Dominican republic is Spanish and our Team-members take weekly English classes;

- Contruction to repair our unique walkway is only being done from 10 AM to 6 PM and exclusively in certain areas; most of our service carts already have tyres and so will the rest soon;

- Taxi-cabs are a third-party entity and they set their rates; so is the Deep-fishing Company;

- A/C is now working properly; we are installing new thermostats and are also launching Screens for our terraces and balconies next week;

- Indeed it is always good to take Sunscreen to a tropical destination...;

- We apologize for not being able to provide you with a Do not disturb ("No molestar" in Spanish) sign, especially as we have plenty of them...;

- Drinks are a subjective topic; still, we have already spoken with our head Bartender, as to better them;

- We have daily food specials, 3 restaurants in a 51-suite hotel, Thematic dinners throughout the week and Chefs who can always tailor-make any meal; it is always good to look for a manager on site when one has something to communicate on-site, so that we gladly & timely take the necessary measures, than once our guests have left...;

PROS:
- Food was amazing for an all-inclusive or otheriwse. A great assortment, numerous flavors, 24 hour options, divine desserts, etc.
- Staff is always smiling and really seem to love their jobs. They are great people to be around.
- It is quaint, small, intimate, and not a "party scene" or a "spring break" vibe at all.
- The rooms were modernized and bathrooms were open and gorgeous.

CONS:
- They do NOT tell you that they are under construction prior to arriving on site and finding out that the sound of the waves are masked by chainsaws and hammers. We are not complainers or knit picky people but every afternoon nap was completely ruined by extremely loud construction. --- When we told them at check in that this was not going to work and we would be happy to go elsewhere with no harm no foul but they promised the construction could wait and would stop immediately. When we asked again two days later if that noise would stop their ONLY solution was to comp our one couples' massage and to provide a "special breakfast" ... This is an all-inclusive resort. Offering us food is not a solution to anything. We have already paid in full for our food. [I have NUMEROUS videos of the DAILY Chainsaws!]
- We were woken up EVERY morning by 7:30AM by numerous "industrial carts" that lack rubber wheels and roll over the stone walkways all morning delivering items across the property. Sounds silly, but no joke we did not sleep in even once on our honeymoon.
- The A/C could not get the rooms lower than 85 degrees in most rooms. Many guests were sweating and complaining about it all week.
- The massages are offered in a beautiful openair spa. The Spa has great products and sweet staff but no matter how deep you ask the therapists to massage you, they will only rub your skin. In fact, we purchased our couples' massage when we arrived and planned to have our complimentary massages on our last morning but we ended up canceling our FREE massages.
- The "Free WiFi" in rooms goes out when it rains so do not plan on that.

I had always hear great things about Zoetry Resorts and was excited to go for our honeymoon. My review is not representative of all Zoetry properties or their affiliates, as I have not visited their other properties. But I'm appalled by what we spent on their Deluxe Oceanfront Suite vs. what we experienced and what the management offered as "solutions" in the end.

- Construction to repair our unique wooden walkway is indeed being done, but only in certain parts of the hotel and exclusively between 10 AM & 6 PM; although we tried to minimize the impact on you, we are sorry you found it as noisy as you state, since your comments on this topic so far have been the only isolated ones, respectively; also, we do not understand who you refer to as "They", when you mention an advice on this maintenance matter should be given prior to our guests travelling to our wondrous paradise...;

- Most of our service carts have tyres and the rest are being equipped with them;

- Our A/C system is now fully-operating;

- Massages are subjective;

- Our WiFi is now functioning properly;

The service at Zoetry is amazing. They make this resort a wonderful and relaxing experience. Juan (Pina), Ambioris, Francis and Franklin were especially memorable for how amazing they made our experience. We mentioned to Ambioris that it was our anniversary trip and at dinner the night of our anniversary he had them make a cake for us and the staff came out and sang to us. It was incredible. This is a great romantic spot for couples where you will want for nothing. It was an incredible vacation!

The hotel is gorgeous....Smaller hotel with individual suites.....Very clean, great food, amazing staff who is always at your service......Beach is wonderful and clean......Not a party hotel which is more than fine with me.......Quiet place to get away, relax, and enjoy a wonderful week with my husband.......Is family friendly, on the beach, and very affordable.....Rooms available either on the beach or with a garden view.....rooms with garden view have a pool in the backyard

Zoetry Auga was better than we could have ever imagined! The staff was incredible (especially Juan "Piña", Juan Antonio, and Chelly! There are so many other amazing staff members too!) and the property is gorgeous. It was nearly impossible to leave. The Kentuckians will be back for sure!!!
