“Can't wait to return!”
Reviewed 28 September 2008

As part of a week touring West Wales this was the highlight of a week full of highlights. Sadly we only stayed the one night, but will return.
Situated between Lampeter and the coast, tucked away down some small lanes, I initially thought the place would be hard to find, but it is quite well signposted locally, particularly the 'Tres Bijou' restaurant at the front of the premises. We arrived without having to search at all!
We were welcomed warmly by proprietors Melvyn and Eve, whose hospitality was excellent throughout our stay. We stayed in the delightful log cabin (slept very soundly with no other noise than the stream outside) and enjoyed strolling around the grounds to see the pet ducks and other animals.
The tiny 'gothic' style restaurant (pictured) had the right balance of informality and formality. A delicious and interesting range of home-cooked vegetarian dishes, home-baked bread and simple but sound wine list made it an evening to remember. I understand fish is available but to be honest the veggie dishes stand well on their own - by the way I am writing this as a carnivore!
My only hesitation in writing this review is that everyone will want to go there! Highly recommended

We stayed for 3 nights in the log cabin at Rhyd-y-Groes. Very clean, peaceful surroundings, very good food, both for breakfast and evening meal. Melvyn & Eve very welcoming and helpful. Would recommend as base for exploring mid Wales.

Far from the noise and speed of the city, you'll be warmly welcome by Melvyn & Eve who are running this delightful B&B and the Tres Bijou restaurant.
The rooms are decorated with taste, clean and are very bright. The restaurant offers who very good menu with fisch and veggetarian dishes cooked by Eve with local products. The surrounding is beautiful, calm and invits you to walks in the countryside.
On the property, you'll find 2 Shetland poneys, 2 sheep, few ducks and an outdoor cat. It's a real pleasure to walk around the house to see the animals wondering in their folds.
The owners will help you to plan your stay and offer you a wild range of possible activities in the region.
I loved staying there and I am looking forward to returning!
