I went for lunch, did not stay at the Inn. Instead we had lunch on the verandah overlooking the pool. The food and service was excellent. We are looking forward to spent a week there as we want to check out the spa.

If you haven't been here, you're missing out! Leaving this fabulous resort will be very difficult. The tranquility you experience is truly out of this world! The rooms make you feel like you're all alone in a private villa surrounded by nature. The property is perched high in the mountains and has incredible views both day and night. You experience walking in the most well kept garden with exotic flowers and well manicured lawns. Amazing staff that make you feel at home, from management to maids; teamwork at its best! Great restaurant; complimentary continental breakfast with Blue Mounain Coffee.... the best. The 'Gordon Town Trail' hike is highly recommended, an experience that is a true Jamaican history lesson with Dave, a very knowledgeable guide. He's simply the best! Aveda Spa has rooms with idyllic views. I can go on and on...... Book now; you'll be talking about this place for the rest of your life!

Room Tip: All rooms have fabulous views. You can't go wrong.

High in the Blue Mountains overlooking Kingston Harbor -- the nighttime view is stunning -- this oasis of a dozen "cottages" embraces visitors with a yen for beauty, peace and quiet. The on-site restaurant serves delicious Jamaican meals and the superlative coffee named for these mountains. It's so smooth and low-acid, even coffee-averse digestive tracts can enjoy multiple cups per day -- and you'll want to! Even after a treatment at the Aveda spa onsite, where an outdoor massage puts you to sleep. Besides advance-level hanging out, about the only activities for the restless are guided local hikes, tours of a nearby coffee plantation, and an infinity-edge pool. The creation of Island Records founder Chris Blackwell, Strawberry Hill plays unobtrusive reggae in the background all day, and the staff are friendly, unobtrusive and very responsive to guests' every need. Altogether enchanting, this is a perfect, romantic spot for a 3 to 5-day wind-down.

Room Tip: If you're older or have a bad knee, avoid the cottage called 59 steps -- there are actually more...

Thanks for taking the time out to write a review on Strawberry Hill. I will certainly pass on this information to all out staff. BTW we are taking 59 Steps out of regular inventory beginning October 1, 2013, when we re-open after doing our annual upgrades throughout this month.

Thanks for your wonderful and descriptive feedback; this is especially important noting that you are from a neighboring island with similar mountain ranges and natural habitat. So visitors from near and far are finding our experience to be really special.

I really enjoyed the views, breezes and accommodations. Really a beautiful location and worth the hair raising ride. The food was not up to par though. Lamb was over cooked and small portions. Brunch was decent but expensive.

WOW! We just returned home after a 4 night stay at Strawberry Hill for a combo business/pleasure trip. I had a business meeting in Kingston on day 3. We chose to rent a car for the whole trip so we could have mobility. The funniest thing about driving on the ‘wrong side’ of the road was that I always turned on the windshield wipers every time I wanted to use my turning indicator…Be aware most streets don’t actually have street signs, so you may miss a few turns in town. Once you make it to Old Hope Road, the rest is easy. Take it easy driving up the mountain and you’ll be fine.

Strawberry Hill is very much a ‘retreat’ type of vacation. The opposite of staying at a bustling beach resort. We never even turned on our flat screen TV! My wife and I completely entered into the peaceful vibe of the place.

Very personal service. Each time we left the gates for a walk, we were greeted by name.
We walked over to UCC Craighton Coffee Estate, and Jerome gave us a very interesting background on the history of coffee (Thank-You Pope Clement!), and a taste of their Blue Mountain coffee. We then walked up to the plantation. At the top of the hill, we left the official Coffee tour, and walked down past the elementary school over to St. Mark’s Church, and down into Redlight. We bought patties and festivals at Yatty Patty before heading back.

While I was in Kingston on business, my wife walked down to Café Blue for a Frappuccino and Rum Cake, and continued on to find two brothers that sell Jerk Chicken and pork at the next ‘store’. She brought the meat and cake back to our minibar fridge, and we enjoyed it for lunch the next day!

To get a real feel for rural Blue Mountain Jamaica take the Gordon Trail walking tour that they offer at the hotel. I highly recommend ‘Rastaman Dave’. He is full of stories, and points out all the different plants and fruits. Stopping at a waterfall, while we swam, he prepared fresh pineapple and papaya for us. He is really focused on the guest experience, and walking with him is like having a Gold Pass into the lives of the people who live in the mountains. ‘Bless Up Family’
The name of our cottage was Mountain View 1. The name says it all. Not on the Kingston side, our balcony was perched over a quiet valley with stunning views. Shangri-La. The rooms have French Press Coffee makers, so we enjoyed morning coffees on the balcony before heading off to breakfast. (We’d now like to re-do our bedroom in Jamaican Colonial).

Excellent, fast, very stable Wi-Fi is available everywhere on the grounds, including our own balcony. My phone and laptop were always connected.

Between my wife and I, we tried everything on the dinner menu. Salmon, Oxtail, Curried Goat, Jerk Chicken, Pork Tenderloin, Lamb chops, Shrimp, and the soups. Every dish was well prepared and delicious.

We 100% recommend Strawberry Hill for a relaxing, pampered, getaway.

Room Tip: Mountain View 1 is on a quiet valley, we loved it!
