If you thought you knew a lot about the great Bob Marley, you were wrong. This tour of his old home was very informative!

“Commercialized but worth a visit if that doesn't bother you.”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

By far the most commercialized place I have ever been.

From the minute you walk in its sell, sell, sell. Its interesting and I'm glad we have been but its just so commercialized. You are told that this is 'the last place to buy a drink' before you go on a supposed 30 minute hike. Its just not true, you walk up a small hill and look round where Bob Marley and his mum are buried and his childhood house. You are expected to tip the guide, the band. Surely when you have paid the entrance fee you shouldn't have to tip constantly.

Be careful of the sellers as you get off the coach. One tried to rip us off for $20 for an aloe vera leaf!

Its a great place to see but I'm not sure Bob Marley would like how commercialized it has become.

Reviewed 11 June 2014

It was about a 2hr drive,up Jamaican roads very narrow and non paved, and very bumpy one of the ladies we were with got sick from the bumpiness and had to,you know what out the window, but she was fine after that and really enjoyed the tour afterwards, but it was a great experience seeing where he grew up and the community it is in.

“Bob Marley Gift Shop”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

My husband is a Bob Marley fan and really wanted to go to the museum. Kinda disappointed. Felt like it was cheap tourist trap. Needed to be more about the man and his music, not selling tee shirts. Had a few gold records on the wall and some posters. Had to use their guide and he made sure he was tipped. Wanted to learn more about the man and his history and did not get this at the museum :( Now my guide in the van on the way to the museum was a different story. His name was Ras Shaka (?) and he was a Rastafarian and he was great! I learned soooo much. He told us about the history of the Rastafarians and the culture. He gave me the title of books to read to learn more but most important of all, he encouraged us to ask questions! I enjoyed listening to him more than the museum.
