I'd heard through the grapevine that this park was good for doing some exercise, so to work off all the delicious Jamaican food i'd been guzzling, I strapped on my trainers and went at 6am.

I wasn't expecting to see many people but I was pleasantly surprised to see lots of runners of all ages taking advantage of the cooler morning climate and handy running track around the edge of the park.

The park itself is beautiful with lots of information about Jamaica and a breathtaking statue at the entrance. We liked it so much we returned in the evening, and happened to stumble across a free orchestral youth concert. I'd definitely recommend a visit!

Didn't really spend too long here. But an attractive park with plenty to read about the history of Jamaica.

When the day is rough the tough get going and went the sunset the best place to relax is the Emancipation park. You can have cool red stripe beer or put on your running shoe and do couple a laps around the park.

Well maintained park very close to Altamont Court where we stayed. The park has a paved trail with information signs explaining national heroes and their contributions to society, such as Norman and Michael Manley, Samuel Sharpe, Marcus Garvey, etc. There is often live music.
