“So much fun!”
Reviewed 19 January 2013

Took our honeymoon there just this past week. We'd now just love to go hang out with the people once a month!!! Food, atmosphere, fun, romance. This place has it all. From our favorite bartenders like Verna, Jagan, and Andrei, and the other gentleman, his name escapes me, but he worked most evenings with Andrei, plus, big Kevin from the pub (who could balance just about anything on his head). The weight staff, like Nichola, and Aesha, and of course: the entertainment staff: Ginger, Chico, Kara, Hollywood, Richy Rich, and of course, the talented Theodore. The entire staff make it the most fun. Their warm, engaging personalities make the trip as exciting, or as laid back as you like. Rooms were kept very tidy, restaurants always clean and well maintained. Great place to go.....we want to go back.

Room Tip: Base rooms are a little on the older side. Still maintained very well, but could really use a littl...

After being at 4 different Sandals Resorts several times, thus far, this Sandals is the best!! We had a beachfront walkout and walked steps to the volleyball court. The rooms were immaculate as well as the common areas. The pool and beaches are very clean and maintained all day long. Food....MMMM. Make reservations for the French Restaurant and Thai Restaurant right when you get there so you can pick your nights...they fill up fast! Great Staff and an overall great vacation

Room Tip: Go beachfront walkout of you can

Vacationed with hubby, brother and sister in law for five nights. A very nice experience was had by all.
The Breakdown:
Rooms: We had a beachfront concierge walk-out suit in the Balmoral Building. Room had plenty of space, was very clean and was represented correctly by the Sandals Website pictures. This was a prime location for us as we like tranquil spaces and thoroughly enjoyed the walk-out access to the beach and having coffee on our oversized oceanfront deck each morning. Furnishing could use updating but we didnt spend alot of time in the room so this wasnt important to us. Water took about 5 minutes of running before it came hot for showers each day and it only comes warm, never hot so remember to be patient, it will come hot after a few minutes of running.
Beach: Small but enjoyable, winds were too strong the whole week so all water activities at the resort were closed, we were truly disappointed to not be able to do any of the water activities all week.
Entertainment: If you go, do not miss the CHOCOLATE NITE! Homemade chocolate of every kind, delicious! Lots of fun with the Chocolate Girl and live entertainment afterwards, very pleasurable and excellent entertainment.
Food: Just okay for us, we found there could have been more choice for restaurants but did enjoy the daily breakfast buffet at the Regency and had a wonderful dinner at the French restaurant Le Jardinier, Thai Restaurant was great as well. We ate pizza every day from the Bella Napoli Pizzeria, excellent pizza, also enjoyed the spicy fries at Mariners on the beach. We were very disappointed as they will not give you bottles of water in any of the restaurants unless you have butler service included with your room. Also plan your diner restaurants carefully as some are closed on Mondays and Fridays.
Room Service: Tried twice, the first time was yucky, the food was all mushy from being covered with saran for the delivery, second time I ordered, I waited an hour and a half and never received my order, finally called down and they misplaced it due to shift change, this was disappointing. We did order coffee every morning and did not receive our coffee after waiting an hour and a half one day, we called them an had it sent within ten minutes.
menu was limited to three items after nine p.m., very little selection for room service.
Bars: Drinks were great, staff were more than entertaining all the time and very excellent service at all times. There is no such thing as a weak drink here! Our favorite drinks and write these down if your going here because they are the bomb: SKY JUICE (yummy) JAMAICAN SMILE (Mmmm) VODCA LEMONADE (delish!)
We also made good use of the help yourself cappucino and Latte machine at Elanors Restaurant at main pool.
Animals: Fed peacocks there are 6 and are so friendly. Lots of humming birds various types, cats, lizards, crabs, crains and more, very pleasurable experience.
Massages: We had couples massages beach side, I would these, they were incredible, what a gratifying experience!
Private Island: Visited the island a few times, very beautiful and fun.
SPECIAL THANKS TO THESE STAFF MEMBERS WHO ALL HELPED MAKE OUR STAY SO VERY PLEASURABLE: Andre (our concierge who made our stay perfect) Adrien and Odain at Mariners Beach Bar (spectacular personalities) Tremain (beach maintenace-kept our area so clean each day and made us laugh continuously through out our stay) The Chocolate Girl-was such a blast and full of spice, the ladies in the Gift Shop had us splitting our guts in laughter, Mervelyn who kept our room immaculately clean. Also Thanks to Denise McMorris (bartender at Sandals Carlyle in Montego Bay and to their General Manager there who made us feel so welcomed when we visited their property.
Over all a great visit, I would definetly recommend this resort for anybody in need of rest, relaxation and laughter.

Room Tip: Balmoral and Kensington buildings offer beautiful views, spacious rooms and very quiet lounging area...

We had such a good time! The staff was wonderful--they really made this trip more special than many of our other trips to Sandals have been. (And overall, we love Sandals.) I would like to esp. thank Danaree for helping my mother-in-law feel comfortable and for being SO sweet. It was the first time my parents-in-law had been to a Sandals, and Danaree took the time to chat with them, and she was just so caring and genuine. Cleaveland was the man--he was always super nice, always on the move, and so helpful. Whenever we saw him he remembered our names and stopped to chat for a second. The manager we met named Sheldon was helpful as well. When we got there, we decided we wanted a room upgrade, and he really went out of his way helping us get a good deal and get all settled in --and then out on the beach!
One thing I was so happy about was the snorkling. The water was kind of rough, but we went out anyway, and you HAVE TO GO. We went to a reef called Trader (or Trader's?). Anyway, there were hundreds and hundreds of fish. It was amazing. I would have gone out everday... but it was pretty windy.
We had a lot of fun meeting other guests, and we played pool volleyball almost everyday. This is the smallest resort we have stayed on, but it was also very nice. We stayed for 7 days, and that was the perfect amount of time for us.

We never had done something like this in our lives. My wife of 32 years and I never took a trip like this ever. After clearing customs in Montego Bay that's when it all started. My wife and I were directed to the holding lounge at the airport where we were provided with champagne and cold beer. We soon departed the lounge area and traveled for 10 minutes and arrived at our resort. The resort manager was waiting at the front entrance and greeted us with a friendly smile and warm welcomes. Our concierge showed us our rooms and took us for a brief tour of the resort. Well it did not take long for the party to start. I can go on and on but we want to convey our most gratitude to the staff and worker at this resort. Andre and Nicholas were our concierges and were extremely efficient at their job, always smiling. Adrian, Odane and Eugene were great at keeping our fluids up... ...never new we could drink this much. Nicola, Shampoo, served us at pool sides with their pretty smiles and were so much fun to talk with, I wish that I could have some of their energy. Karalie the chocolate girl, don't want to be rude but she was covered from head to toe with rich dark chocolate one night by the pool side what a fun time had by all. There is so, so much to share that forever will be memories for us especially the steel drum live performances. If you never have experienced the sounds of those steel drums in a live performance, when you do you will be moved in a wonderful way - just fantastic. We did venture to neighboring resorts, one where the manager name was Lance Parish, go figure... At this resort a bartender call Denise manage to keep us longer than we wanted to stay but well worth it, she has the knack of making wonderful drinks and what a smile. We did go horse back riding in the ocean, now that's an experience that we will not forget, the animals are so well cared for and are well trained for this, again wow. There is much, much to add but have to close by saying you will never regret staying at this wonderful resort.

Room Tip: The honey moon suite we had on the second floor of the Kensington building was quite elegant. Locat...

We have been to other all-inclusive clubs in Jamaica but the first time at Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort in Montego Bay the first week in January 2013. It by far surpassed the other resorts. We enjoyed many things about the resort: the small size of it, the delicious food, the limitless drinks (top shelf) the wonderful entertainment, the comfortable accommodations and especially the people. We especially would like to mention a few of the people we just loved: Adrian, Albert, Cleveland Broderick and Chef Walker and on and on and on! We certainly will go back.

Room Tip: For quiet and away from the activities, we would recommend the Kensington.

This was our first Sandals experience. As seasoned travellers of Caribbean Five Star resorts, our expectations for our Sandals get away were very high! We arrived at 12:30 pm on New Year's Eve and we barely had a chance to use the washroom in the club before we were escorted to our ride to the resort (which happened to be an Audi 8!). The trip to the resort was quick and impressive! Check-in was fast (we opted for the Concierge service when we booked our vacation). However, we were earlier than expected and our room wasn't quite ready so we were escorted to The Regency for lunch. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the ocean and thoroughly enjoyed our buffet lunch! Once finished, we were escorted to our room in the Kensington building on the third floor. To be honest, it wasn't the nicest room we had stayed in by far, but, we did have a view of the ocean and it was definitely clean and well maintained. New Year's Eve was a blast, an amazing buffet followed by entertainment and dancing until well after midnight! We did make a couple of trips to the private island. The food at the Thai restaurant was good, but, we preferred the food at The Regency. We also used the gym facilities and had a couples massage at the Red Lane Spa (which was wonderful). There is lots to do and the entertainment staff is very engaging and even encouraged us to participate in a few water volleyball games (which I am sure they were sorry for after the fact)! Although the beach isn’t great, I have to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our resort! The people who work at the resort made our stay! There is something to be said for a smaller resort as the personalized service was incredible and all of the staff were friendly, courteous and always willing to help! I would go back again in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Recommend the Concierge Service - it is worth the upgrade!
