“Awesome!!!”

I recently returned from Secrets St James after celebrating my 50th birthday. It was 4 of us girlfriends. The Jamaicans were such wonderful people, the food was great, and the beach area was so peaceful and very accommodating. I enjoyed everything about Secrets especially the Spa treatment. If you visit Secrets you must have a complete spa treatment with the hydrotherapy. Wow what an experience! Club Desire is a Karaoke and dance club with so much fun! Bordeaux is one of the finer restaurants with all kinds of live fun entertainment. I could go on and on. Really enjoyed my stay and is looking forward to returning soon. Nadia the check-in lady, Dwaine at the spa, Germaine in water sports were especially wonderful and help made the trip more wonderful.

My husband and I are just departing and sitting in Club Mobay. Club Mobay worth the $60. Free drinks, food WIFI and fat check in. Now about the hotel. Staff very friendly and hotel ,Beach ,and resort clean. Food was excellent. Rooms very nice. They may need more pool staff as the drinks came but we felt a little lacking and we are not drinkers. All resorts are the same but we dislike that towels reserve spots and you have to wake at 7 am to reserve a spot. We stayed at the preferred side which meant we were able to use our cell phones and tablets and get free wifi. I never figured out how to make a call but that was free too but only for preferred members. Spa was a Spa. We used the steam room the sauna the plunge Spa and then went in for our couple massage. Fantastic! Downfall was the entertainment. We don't need karaoke 4 times. The Dj was very good and like being in a club. But waiting a half hour in between drinks singing made us tired and we wanted to party. Ok HUGE PLUS no kids!!!!!! They really meant it!!! Or neighbor was Wild Orchid and it's kid free too. So, in the end they ranked first then moon Palace in Mexico then Majestic Elegance. Only Majestic and Secrets were adult only.

My husband and I have travelled throughout the caribbean and have decided that this is our favorite hotel and favorite vacation. It is a grand complex but with so many nooks and crannies that it feels intimate. The service is amazing and the food is the best we have had at an all inclusive. Especially the fresh coconuts, fresh fruit, and jerk chicken carts. Special acknowledgment to the staff at Blue Mountain Restaurant. We went there two nights in a row and were graciously accommodated by the manager Kenute and the chef Steve even came out to our table to talk and then made a dish I requested the next night. Talk about service!

Just back from Secrets. Stayed for 7 Nights April 8th - 15th.
Arrived and was given our room. Offered the upgrade to Preferred, and told of all the extras we would receive. We turned it down and was shown to our room. We opened the blinds to be confronted with trees. This is not what we paid for, as we like to be able to relax on the ballcany once we've had enough of the sun.
We returned to reception and said we were not happy with the room as it was not Ocean View.
We were told that this is partial View and that this is what is meant by Ocean View. This is Mis-Selling Accommodation as it does not state on the web-site anywhere that Ocean View is classed as "Partial or Side view".
We were then told the only way to get a better room was to upgrade to Preferred Club. We decided to do this. The only thing they done was to put us in a room higher up in the same block. Other people in these rooms were not Preferred Club. We went back and said we were not happy and they said they would refund our money( We are yet to see this money returned to us)
However we had to now move from this room with an ocean View that we had paid for. We were moved to a room lower down that again had the view of trees and nothing else 3245.
We again said this is not an Ocean View room but was told it was. We had moved 3 times and just wanted a nice time. We contacted our Travel Company, who contacted the Hotel. The Hotel told them they had moved us to another room with a better view and there was not a problem.
This was a complete lie.
Now for the place it's self. Clean, Tidy and the staff were Excellent. Leo and the Gang at the pool kept everyone entertained. The Top man was Arlando in the lobby bar. Made our Holliday.
This is a great resort. The front desk staff need to be less pushy.
I will be presuming the Mis-selling of our room type.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room on 4th or 5th floor

We just celebrated our 45th anniversary here and hands down it was one of the best vacations we ever had. From the stunning views of the ocean to the beautiful rooms and excellent service, this place left us in awe. The staff was friendly and seemed to only want to please in every exceptional way. The Food: Our first night was the lobster festival in the World Cafe where they served all you could eat grilled lobster tails! Just awesome. The breakfast and lunches at the World Cafe were delicious! We were surprised that all dinners were at the restaurants and no reservations were required. That was a plus. We ate at the Italian, Jamaican and Japanese Restaurants. Fabulous. The jerk chicken carts on the pathway everyday at lunch left our mouths watering and did we get water. Barrels all along the paths loaded with ice cold bottles of water was just what we needed after sitting on the sunny beaches. I have no words!. We paid the extra and went preferred and had everything at our disposal from the small dining room in the lobby to the private pool and beach. We never had to search for seating on the beaches and had as many towels as we wanted without having to sign for them or replace them. The details in the rooms were amazing from the rain showers with private stalls to the decks overlooking the beach with your own private soaking tub on the balcony. One item for improvement would be the entertainment. There were very few shows and what shows they had were so late that if you had dinner at six, 10:00 was just too late to hang around for a show. They need to have more shows and entertainment earlier. I would say there is room for improvement there. We also took advantage of the spa which was superb. We highly recommend this resort to anyone. If you want peace and quiet, the St James side is best since all of the entertainment and crowds are on the Orchids end. However Orchids is more beautiful.

Room Tip: Rooms in St James side are quieter. Views are better higher up.

We arrived of a long flight from England for 2 weeks to the Secrets resort, all the reviews I had read were true to the Hotel, it was a lovely Hotel, Staff very Friendly, we requested another room as the one we was given had not much view, but we finally got a better room, we did not go prefferred, there was no need as we had any drinks we wanted, but we did have to Pay for the internet for two weeks and this was the only Hotel Ive been to that does not have Free Internet. We paid £160 dollars for the two weeks and you can use the code on 3 phones/ipad, The best things about out stay was the amazing breakfast they had everything! the Fresh Coconuts everyday from Carlton were the best thank you, Carlton you were great!. And the Jerk chicken cart taste better than the restaurants. It was so tender, the not so good was, the shows repeat every week so the second week was the same, but I guess the Americans were only there for 4/5 nights as that wont be a problem for them, and mentioned on previous reviews were the drunks around the pool bar, yes they were but we just watched them from our sunbeds, I suppose when they are they for only 3/4 days they make the most of it. Also people come in off the cruise ships on wednesdays so it does get busy in the day times. We did the bob marley trip and the dunns falls, it was a one day trip which was a long day but I enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone, The jamaican people are lovely, which makes your holiday, because you know that they really do want to work there which is nice. We would have liked a buffet restaurant to choose from in the evening, and having spoken to the english that were there after 14 nights they said the same thing, I was annoyed one day when I wanted a drink at the barracuda bar within the opening times and they asked me if I was apart of a businness group which I wasnt so was not allowed in, this needs to be addressed as I paid for an all inc holiday and should be able to drink where I wish. Phillip at the Piano bar kept our glasses full, also Denolm and Dennis at the St james pool bar thank you :)

Room Tip: Higher rooms are best

Just back from a great vacation at Wild Orchid. This resort is absolutely beautiful. Very clean and great service. The only downfall was the night life. Unless you are there to absolutely relax, I wouldn't recommend this resort. Little bored at nighttime. Who wants to sit around a bomb fire and sing love songs. There was entertainers but nothing exciting, you can also sit around a piano and sing the same songs over and over every night as well.
Yeah I guess I really didn't like the night life at all.

Room to Improve:
Provide free Internet access to all guests.
Get rid of Ultimate Vacation Club upsell. This was very annoying at check in time.
Keep the Barefoot Grill open after 5 p.m.
Make sure all bartenders are consistent with the alcoholic beverages (nothing should be "watered down," especially in this hotel class at this price).
