I have been on several charter boats fishing before, but never have I met a captain that is as plugged in to all aspects of his business as Captain Howard is. I run a fly-in fishing camp myself and understand the challenges and logistics in booking, marketing, and of course customer service. Captain Howard only started up less than 2 years ago, but you'd better go fishing with him soon before business is so busy he'll be booked up years in advance!

We were fortunate to find an available morning at the very beginning of our trip in Jamaica. We were only there one week, so on the first morning we were picked up by Leroy and his cab. He took us right to the marina, and minutes later we were heading out onto the water. The fishing is easy so you don't have to worry about being a professional. You drop a 3lb weight down to the bottom with a snell that has 6 hooks on it. You fish in 400-1200 feet of water. The bites happen pretty much as soon as you hit bottom. You use your hand to feel the bites and set the hook on the braided line. the fun part is trying to catch more than one fish. We were able to bring up 4 fish on several occasions. I also did bring up my line once with no fish, but also no bait left on any of the 6 hooks but I got the hang of it after that.

We wanted to try for marlins, and so Captain Howard was kind enough to work a double shift several days later. He normally doesn't do afternoon fishing because the ocean can get rough, but we had a good forecast and calm weather. He had his regular charter booked in the morning (fish 7AM to about 12 noon), but he scheduled us in for the afternoon and it was a beautifully calm day. We got picked up at our hotel at 1PM by Leroy once again and fished until the sun went down (about 6PM).

Trolling produced a nice 20lb Wahu. We then stopped to get some fish deep-drop style because we wanted to have another "Catch-And-Dine" at the yacht club's restaurant... we highly recommend that option so you can eat your fresh catch right there!

We had a big shark (guessing 300-400lbs) hit on a fish my wife was bringing up. She fought it for over an hour but unfortunately it broke/cut the line when we were just starting to see it's shape and color come up from the depths. What a thrill it was!

Anyway, like I said Captain Howard is the entire package. He is personable, honest, hard-working, and genuine. He cares about his guests, and about their experience. He will make sure you have a memorable trip. Even if you (or someone in your group) aren't really into fishing, don't worry about it. This is a fun and easy experience and you are well taken care of.

Fished with friends Feb 25th and we had such a great time that we fished again on Feb 28. We can't recommend Deep Drop Fishing Charters highly enough!!! The day starts when you are picked up at you hotel and promptly shuttled to the marina where you depart from. It doesn't take long to get to the highlight of the day - The Fishing - and it is a blast. A great time pulling up all sorts of fish from depths of over 1000 feet!!!! The fishing is easy and therefore suitable for even the most novice fisherman. A great excursion for couples, friends or families with children. Howard and Man O'War are very experienced, knowledgeable, personable and will guide you along the way. The first day we focused on deep dropping and enjoyed a busy morning as we brought in Goldeneye Snapper, Silky Snapper and even a Lionfish!!! The second time out we decided to troll for Marlin. We didn't catch a Marlin but did however catch a nice Wahoo. We then did some more deep dropping, catching more Goldeneye Snappers. Even had a large shark take one of the fish on the way up. A member of our group fought it for an hour before its razor sharp teeth cut the line. What a thrill!!! We also highly recommend you to do the 'Catch and Dine'. Howard and Man O'war will filet the fish - and the fine folks at the Seahorse Grill will cook it up with your choice of sides. We opted for this both times and was it ever awesome. Beer batter and Cajun were our choices. Yum !! What a fantastic way to finish the day. Dine on fresh fish while you overlook the marina. As mentioned, we can't recommend Deep Drop Fishing Charters highly enough. You'll love it. Thanks again Howard and Man O'War - we will be back.

Howard and his first mate "man o war" (can't spell it) did a great job! He is very quick and professional with his communication and knowledgeable on fishing. He wanted to make sure we had the best experience (and we did)! We had to reschedule a couple times due to weather and he was very helpful and flexible which was great!

We ate one of our catches at the yacht club and it was so good and a great value!

Everything was great and we would do it again next time we come back!

Captain Howard was welcoming & co, made my four children feel great on the day. Captain Howard is honest & friendly, his fishing method is not hard work which made it fun & easy for the kids. Catching fish with out the hard work put a smile on the kids face each time.

Once docked Captain Howard made sure the food was cooked perfect, at the right price.
