I returned from a great week spent at MBR (Yeh Mon! ) 24/08/04 contrary to what I anticipated having read the reviews of more "discerning" travellers. As the saying goes - empty vessels....
The staff were especially attentive and accomodating.
The rooms were extremely comfortable with great balconies and views and the food was excellent lots of choice within meals and varied throughout the week with Jamaican options available at every meal.
The food was well cooked and presented The staff also regulary monitored food temperatures and certain dishes were cooked in front of you which would suit even the most hygiene conscious
Red stripe and other supposed unavailable drinks were plentiful.
My only gripe was the quality of some of the evening entertainment, however there was good nightlife only 5 minutes walk away.
I would most certainly stay there again and recommend this hotel to other "appreciative"people.
PS. The so called graveyard was a small private family plot dating from the 1900's.

the montego bay beach resort a allocation showed in the brochure the montego beach resort as a pink hotel on our arrival we found the gotel in pink ggreen , white and yellow depending which wall tou looked at,
rgis once in atime hotel was a jack tar complex.

now its a cheap hotel claiming to be a all inclusive resort.

this is really a 2 star and nothing more.

there are two restuarants one a chinese which is closed.

the hotel claims a number of facilities a fitness room which has old old of date equipment all of which needs replacing,

the entertainment is limited and is the same each week lead by a compere who loves his own voice
entertainment finished at 10pm.

the beach has no safety facilities.

the pools and jacuzzi are dirty

none of the hairdressing , massage or beautician facilities were on offer as advertised

none of the patio doors had locks on in fact our rooms patio kock had been broken for some time.

the rooms had been decorated but the rest of the hotel was under refurbishment and decoration

the hotel is also situated 5 minutes from the airport and at the end of the runway for landing aircraft

the final feature which is not stated in the hotel information sheet or in any brochure is that you will be spending your holiday with other guests who never get to leave the resort as it is built on a grave yard and graves are at the front side and rear of the hotel.

the only good think was i only spent a week there the dead are there for eternity

this was a fantastic place. We only booked 3 weeks before flying to Jamaica and after reading some of the bad reviews i was very worried - but i really do not know where these people stayed cos it wasn't at the MBR that my family and I stayed at. Food was fantastic, drink was great everything available, entertainment good, rooms large, clean and airy with great air conidtioning. and the staff were absolutely fantastic, Dwight, Carter, Nadine are the best so are all the maids, bar staff waitresses, waiters. all i can say to those people who gave bad reviews is 'get a life' cos the place is wonderful and I will certainly be recommending Jamaica and MBR to all my friends and family and would have no hesitation in returning.

Fantastic rooms, polite, helpful staff. Very good service, however staff seem to vanish at the weekend. Food was acceptable, but perhaps a little too spicy for some tastes. Entertainment and menus were excellent, however with a weekely rotation, can get a little boring on a two week visit. The Bar staff were friendly and polite, however a shortage of glasses did occur on two occasions during my visit. CARTER! The life and soul of the party. Carter is not to be missed as are his catch phrases. Lets hope he gets his old brainbox in gear before my next visit!! A beautiful beachfront property. Marvelous views, facilities and above average service.

Ive just come back from 2wks(July 04) at the Montego Beach resort, I found my time there to be restful, the staff were friendly, the food was good, and plenty of it, bit boring by the second week, Only complaint that the did not have local spirits such as white rum, guinness, or dragon stout, that did not reflect its surroundings.
The staff work very hard. Evening entertainment - good. Not enough for children to do thou.
