If you are looking for luxury this is not the place. I loved the location. I feel the owners are taking advantage of that aspect and not putting any money back into the place. The pictures in the photo gallery did not reflect my actual room!!! It was outdated but clean. .

I have stayed at this place 3 times over the past 3 years.

I would concider this more of a budget motel than a hotel or a resort.... I have stayed in the 1 bedroom and the 2 bedroom apartments. The 2 bedroom apartments are the best... they have a full kitchen and dining room and living and on the second floor a master bedroom with bathroom and the second bedroom has 2 single beds and then a loft with another dbl bed... there is a second bathroom in the hall way. One bedrooms are standard... bedroom with closet and bathroom.. and a room with kitchette, fridge, and small tbl and sofa with tv.

From what i see security could be beefed up a bit... but it wasnt anything we feared... the first two times we were there we did not have a bracelet but the 3rd time they had told us that they have no gone to wearing bracelets like the other surrounding hotels. This is helpful.

They have a little shop on the grounds which sells cheap alchol and snacks.. and they have coconut resturant attached to it - the soup is super good and the Jamaican breakfast is yummy... quite expensive.. i found that we went to John Crows bar which is about 3 min walk away the best place to eat casually and Evitas resturant 5 min drive for a fancy night out.

Location is great... loved it....

You have access to the local beach ... i love that beach.. shallow, warm and beautiful.. it is in a bay so the waves are almost non existance..

you can go fishing off the rocks in the marina if fishing is your thing... small little fish but whatever.. its fun!

the super market is a hop skip and a jump away . I loved this place cuz you can cook your own food since they have a kitchen and fridge....

You can hear the music from Margaritaville at night when outside...but not inside...

Check out Oceans 11 (across the street) any time but for sure on Sunday for Kareoke.

I have been staying at Fishermans Point since 2002 and it is one of my favorite properties in Ochi. The location is great, as Fishermans Point is across the street from Island Village and Ocean's 11 karaoke - but also keep in mind that the music and noise will be heard as well - not recommended for light sleepers/those that do not want to hear noise and music on a regular basis. For me, the music just adds to the charm and experience of staying here. Fishermans Point is walkable to local markets and shops, but for those that do not want to walk it is extremely easy to get a local route taxi, or go to the front desk and the staff will call a charter taxi for you. This property is very family friendly - there is even a play area and wading pool for kids.

My rooms for the most part have been okay. To date I have only had one stay where the room was in need of upgrading (the bedroom was fine, but the sleeper sofa in the living room was very uncomfortable). We even received free entry to Turtle Beach by presenting our room keys to the employees at the front booth.

This is not a five star hotel, however I love it as guests have the comforts of home (fridge and kitchen/kitchenette), but the option of having food delivered from the restaurant on the property, or from other restaurants within the area. Great value in Ochi, considering that similar properties charge a lot more for the same amenities.

I was here on Sept 19-26. It was so nice and relaxed. It was really nice to have a lovely balcony off my bedroom. The fridge and stove access was fabulous. The furniture is a little dated but it did what it was supposed to do. I got all the shows on cable and the movie network. The staff was wonderful and friendly and helpful. The guys at the gate were really protective since I was a single girl travelling alone. Try going to the bar Coconuts on site. It's a little pricey but the staff are friendly and attentive. Especially Anthony. He was a fabulous waiter and hilarious with the jokes. The cleaning staff was on point everyday and were very efficient. If you're looking for a comfortable, beautiful scenery and lots of friendly people. This is it. The pool was glorious and the beach was steps away complete with a beach pass. What more could you want. Very family friendly as well. JUST GO!

This was our first time in JA and we wanted to stay in town rather than at an all inclusive so we could experience the real Ochos Rios. Fisherman's Point was great and what we got for the price was lovely. It was nice to have a fridge and a stove so we could make coffee in the am (bring or buy some instant- no coffee provided or coffeemaker). and have somewhere to stash and re-heat leftover jerk chicken, beer, liquor, etc. We were on lower level, so we did not have a balcony but we did have a smll porch off the bedroom which was nice to sit on and drink coffee, smoke, etc. Staff was friendly, people at bar & restaurant very nice and helpful too. The rooms were safe, had no problems with intruders, etc. Air conditioning was in bedroom part which was fine. My only complaint was the noise level on the side of the hotel that faces "Oceans 11" nightclub. Yes, it was loud until about 1am, so bring earplugs. We asked to switch rooms but there were none available to switch into. The decor is not very updated and stylish but i don't really care about that! It was clean, they cleaned everyday, never saw any bugs or anything like that. Pool was great to have after spending a day in and about town to come back to and take a dip in, relax & have a beer. No beach on property, but it's just a short walk away...ask the front desk for a pass so you don't have to pay (300 ja?). Would stay there again if I could be guaranteed to be put on the "quiet" side. Having a kitchenette was great! Great location- close to main drag and a good starting point for any day trips.

My bestfriend and I visited Jamaica on a cruise this year in June. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided we would fly out to have a longer stay. We made reservations at Fisherman's Point for a week long stay! When we arrived, the room we had was terrible. The furniture looked like someone pulled it right out of the 60's, and it was hot as satans toenails. We then learned that they only put one AC in the room so the living room stays hot the entire time. The girl at the front desk changed our room for one with 2 beds instead, and we moved our things to another room. This is when we realized their idea of two beds was a queen size bed and a window seat in front of the window!! OMG the couchs in the living room was actually two twin beds with cushion on them. After flipping the switch in this room, the hot water didn't work. The mantinence man came and left and still didn't fix the hot water. So after taking 2 cold showers, we ended up moving yet again to another room the next day!!!!! At this point i'm highly upset, but I refuse to show out because the staff was being so friendly. The next room they moved us to had better furniture and it was much nicer. So we then assumed this would be the end of our misery NOT!!!!! This room was full of nasty little black bugs, the AC leaked on the bed, and the refrigerator didn't work! The women at the front desk were so nice, but do yourself a favor, pay the extra bucks and stay some where else!!! This hotel has a great location, but that's about all it has going for itself!! DON"T DO IT!

My partner and i stayed in one of the apartments in fishermans point for a weekend where i celebrated my birthday. I had to write a review because it was more than we expected. The members and staff were very helpful, and made every effort in fulfilling our request on every ocassion e.g. provision of towels, usage of the pool and assistance with directions in and around Ochio Rios. It is close to all amenmities in particular the cinemas, the local clubs and taxis are easy access just be careful not to take the robot taxis make sure their registration plates are RED. Overall this is a wonderful hotel the sea view, the balcony, the cleansiness of the apartment, and the security. I will say the words Fishermans Point is BOOMBASTIC
