“The Beach”

The beach was tidy and the water did have garbage in it aat the bottom, I don't like not being able to see in the water when I walk right in , however once you get pass the first 20 feet your ok. Not much marine life, a little disappointed in that

“Dunn's River Falls and Jeep Safari”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 December 2013

Great trip booked via Carnival. Ochoa Rios port seemed like a mad house but there were enough stewards around that we found our jeep without any trouble. The guide/driver was called Chin and he gave a running commentary as we drove around the island. There were frequent short stops when Chin would tell us about the flora and fauna and a longer stop at a coffee plantation where the owner, Mr. Black, gave a talk on growing coffee. Then it was off to Dunn's River. My group were all 58+ but all made the climb up the waterfall without to much trouble. It was grata fun and most of us thought it was the highlight of the holiday. Whatever else you do on Jamaica male sure you include the waterfall climb, it's a blast !!!

“River Rafting the Martha Brae”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 December 2013

This was an interesting raft ride. The raft is made from bamboo limbs and wired together. The raft captain poles you along this river for 3 miles. Scenic view of river bank. At the end of the ride the raft captain tells you he made something special for you...and if you show him "respect" with a $20-$40 trip you can have your choice of a carved calabash fruit bowl. Which he did not make! Hawkers were selling these things all over the island for $5. Never had a guide demand his tip amount before. For a poor country trying to survive on tourism it would seem they would take care with the tourists.

“Tour Guide for Ocho Rios area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2013

I visited Runaway Bay in March 2013 for 1 week. I was given a recommendation from a friend before I left Canada for a tour guide in the area. When we arrived in Jamaica we decided to give him a call to make arrangements for a day trip. Chris was awesome from the first time we spoke. We made immediate arrangements to be picked up the next day. He made lots of suggestions for local tourist attractions and was willing to help us book appointments so we could get into the attractions we wanted to see. He was punctual, trustworthy and knowledgeable. Chris would take us to the attractions, make sure we got where we needed to be safely and then wait for us to finish. I would HIGHLY recommend him to everyone. I will be contacting Chris again in all my future visits to Jamaica. We had such an amazing day with him! His email is: kplinton@yahoo.com or you can check out his website at chrisjamaicatours.com.

“Amazing beaches in Ocho Rios and yes they are a safe place to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 November 2013

There are plenty of beaches in Ocho Rios - James Bond Beach - Dunn's River Beach ( at the Dunn's River Falls entrance ) - Reggae Beach - Ochi Beach Club at Sandals Grande Riviera ( this is a private beach )
If your visiting Jamaica and spending some time in Ocho Rios you can visit all there public beaches in just one day. May I suggest Juta Tours - this is what we used while in Jamaica and they will stay while you dine or shop and they where on time. I believe this is a much safer way to take a taxi. They are a great company and they will not drive like the rest of the Jamaican drivers. And yes they do drive fast and a little crazy in Jamaica. But again this taxi company is great.
