“Outstanding value, great food, friendly staff”
Reviewed 27 November 2009

Sips & Bites is a family restaurant that serves good, fresh-cooked Jamaican food for a very reasonable price. This is our first stop for dinner every time we go to Negril (8th time) . We "found" this place in 1999 when it was closer to town, followed it to a larger location close to Somerset Road, and now find it a couple of doors down from Sunset on the Cliffs. Brown Stew Chicken, Curry Chicken, various fish dishes, fresh soups, fresh juices, and cold Red Stripe! Service is fast and friendly. Patio-like area with a roof, and tarps to roll down if a shower comes along.

“Our favorite Negril Restaurant”
Reviewed 8 November 2009

We visited Negril in late October 2009 for a one-week stay at Citronella (see separate review). After reading TripAdvisor reviews, we visited several of the restaurants and this was our favorite.

We visited on a Thursday night when power was off in the Negril area for tree trimming operations. They had lanterns. We were there about 10 minutes and the power came on. My meal was delicious! I had jerk chicken, fries and some vegetables. We went there again the next night and they were unexpectedly closed. The sign indicates they are closed on Saturdays (for religious reasons). Anyway, it was my favorite Negril restaurant and prices are really reasonable.

“Real Jamaica---No Fluff”
Reviewed 26 August 2009

We spent 5 days at The Rockhouse (which we loved) and discovered that breakfast was not included (no big deal). So, we tried Sips & Bites which we had read about. Absolutely fabulous, This is plain, ordinary (well no, its extraordinary) Jamaican food. We had breakfast there every morning. If you want eggs benedict or something like that then please do not come here. What they had in a very plain setting was wonderful Jamaican food with a few excellent attempts at American fare. The French Toast is to die for and and the Jamaican breakfast with aiki (sp?) is beyond belief. We did not ever have lunch there , but the menu looked fabulous. Generally, there were 3 or so Jamaicans to each tourist. Does that tell you something.

“Great food, great value, great place!”
Reviewed 13 July 2009

We ate at several places in Negril, and this was one of the best! Doreen is very nice, and the food was great! We got so much of it on our plate. There were so many extras, too, i.e. fried breadfruit, two kinds of dumplings, pumpkin, and plaintains. It was one of the nicer outdoor places in the West End.

“Wonderful homemade food”
Reviewed 24 June 2009

Give Sips n Bites a try, it's a great little Jamaican restaurant ont the cliffs. The brown stew chicken is the best I've ever had, very tasty and is accompanied by yam and fried dumpling. Doreen is an absolute doll and really makes you feel welcome. I popped in on my recent visit and she recognised me straight away from the past year and welcomed me with open arms. Everything here is so tasty and you can't go wrong with the price. They offer two options for portion size. The sorrel juice is really good! They also do take aways. This place is always on my list while in Negril for my typical Jamaican meal.
