This was my fourth stay at the Negril Treehouse, and certainly will not be my last. I visit Jamaica frequently for work and vacation, and have stayed at numerous properties in Negril (on the beach and the West End cliffs) at varying price points. The Treehouse is a centrally located, independently owned property, with good beach space that allows you to relax away from beach traffic. The hotel bar is almost in the water, and offers one of my favorite locations for people watching. But thankfully, unlike some other spots in Negril, there's no "scene" at the bar and hotel security keeps hustlers at a distance (if you want a scene, Margaritaville is only two properties down the beach and The Jungle nightclub is within walking distance). I should also mention that, unlike another place I've reviewed in Negril, the liquor at the bar is actually what's on the label. The hotel owner, Gail, lives on property and is a friendly and welcoming presence. And, as other reviewers have noted, the staff at the Treehouse is fantastic!

The guest rooms are clean, air-conditioned, and comfortable. There is room for some aesthetic improvements in the guestrooms, but they are more than adequate and each time I return to the Treehouse there are new upgrades (e.g. flat screen televisions and iPod/USB charging stations). The restaurant on property has good, reasonably-priced lunch and dinner items. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention the great complimentary breakfast offering eggs made-to-order, fresh local fruits, and a variety of traditional Jamaican dishes. Once per week, there is also a festive manager's happy hour with complimentary drinks and tasty snacks.

Overall, the Negril Treehouse is a great value that's far superior to many of the all-inclusive options in a comparable price range. But, more than the value, the friendly, laid back, and inviting atmosphere at the hotel is makes it worth the visit. I definitely recommend it for couples and groups looking to just kick back and relax in Negril without breaking the bank.

We stayed at a five star hotel near the airport for one night after staying at Negril Treehouse for several days, and if I could turn back time like Cher, we would have stayed another night at the Treehouse!

PROS:
- Helpful, friendly staff - Janice is best! (We forgot to tip her before we left. Someone hook her up with some 20s!)
- Beach bar, pool, hot tub (although it closed temporarily during our stay for renovation)
- Jamaican breakfast every morning! Fried dumplings, grits, waffles, callaloo, fruit, coffee, etc. We miss it.
- Cool rooms.
- Local fisherman came everyday to deliver lobster, conch, fish, etc on his makeshift canoe. He'd clean the fish on the beach, and the stingrays (non threatening) would visit.
- The Beach is clear and the skys are beautiful
- Perfect beach for Sunsets
- Adjacent to many activities, snorkeling, jet ski, etc
- Although it takes getting used to, vendors walk up and down the beach, some sing to you.
- Fresh towels, maid service daily
- Next to small convenience store
- Jerk chicken/pork lunch from the Chef's grill next to the bar was great.

CONS
- Food from the bar was only so-so (there are many other places to eat though)
- Water pressure could be better
- You can hear muffled neighbors
- (also a pro) local vendors walk up and down the beach and frequently come up to you to sell you fruit, bracelets, jet ski rides, horse rides, weed, weed, and more weed. It's a PRO because it's interesting, but a CON because it gets annoying. There was a "cat in the hat man" who would give you a dirty look after you decline his very smiley pitch of cigarettes and bracelets. One man would just stand in front of you and play his guitar and sing Bob Marley songs. It's a little off putting, but you get used to it.

Overall it was a great experience! The 5 star hotel was so "sanitized" that why would you come to Jamaica to experience what you could in California or another secluded highly manicured non-descript yet expensive hotel?

Treehouse is not a fancy place, rather a nice, clean home-y place. From the airport, it's about an hour drive, which allows you to see a pretty good cross section of Jamaica.

The hotel staff was always willing to assist, kind, and welcoming. Facility was very clean. The location was great, and the atmosphere was warm. Thanks go out to Janice and the other receptionist for all of their assistance in moving around Montego Bay, particularly Negril. A beautiful stay and anyone visiting Tree House will not be disappointed.

The resort is located in the middle of the 7 mile beach. it allows you to walk in any direction and take in the sights and come back and enjoy dinner drink right on the beach. Ms Gail treats you just like family seeing her pick up a broom and sweep let me know the rest of her staff takes just as pride in serving the guest as she... Ms. Gail insisted my wife and I join her at a Chamber of Commerce function with all of the resort owners for drinks hor d'oeuvres. that night we hung like wet clothes.

I didnt actually stay at Treehouse, but my co-workers did and they had a wonderful time! The entire office chipped in and paid for their drinks and food while staying there. Gail and the staff pulled this off perfectly- surprising them at checkout with a couple jokes and a card that the office made for them. Gail even sent me a picture of them at checkin which was nice to see they made it safely. Its funny- I asked one of my coworkers if they are going back to Negril and she said yes... "but Im only staying at Treehouse!" So that says alot.

Thanks Gail for being such a good sport!
