“Nicest Beach..So Far”

First trip to Jamaica. Eight days from July 15-23. First of all, don't let anyone talk you out of travelling to Jamaica in July. It usually rains in the afternoon, or overcast, but still very nice temperature. Not too hot, or humid, like everyone assumes. Slightly cheaper rates over the summer. Prices for shopping, on average about 20% cheaper. Not busy, about 80% of capacity. Mostly honeymooners it seemed. Drinks were good and actually had some booze in them. Food was really good in Patois, Palms, and Lemongrass. Feathers was ok, but a little on the bland side. We ate twice at Lemongrass. I would suggest management upgrade the house red to something else, it wasn't good enough for a second glass. The white was ok. There was a movie night on the beach, which was cool. The beach party had great food and awesome entertainment, which included, trapeze acrobats, fire eater, juggler and contortionist. Oscar on the glass bottom boat was a hoot. Overall the staff was very friendly, especially if you take the time have a genuine conversation. For me the Jamaican people are the coolest cats on the planet, next to Canadians, of course;) Beautiful beach. We had alot of fun at the piano bar, could almost extend Ultimate Chocolate's time slot, though. Do not pass up the tour to YS Falls, it was the hi-light of our trip, Sheldon and Norman are top notch guides. We want to explore more of the Caribbean, first, but I am fairly certain we'll be back to Couples Swept Away!

Room Tip: 4313 is an ocean view room on the third floor, overlooking a koi pond with a pretty good view of the...

We had a great time in Jamaica. Sarah at Beach Bum Vacations helped us put it all together. I had used Sarah before for a trip we made to Cancun and both trips were easy and lots of fun!!

This all inclusive resort was for couples only and it included skiing, glass bottom boat, catamaran, scuba diving along with all food and drinks. Also included was Salsa dance class, hat and jewelry making, entertainment nightly and the beach is amazing!! The night before we left the resort provided entertainment on the beach with a huge bonfire. IF YOU MAKE THE HATS, REMEMBER YOU CAN NOT BRING PALM HATS INTO THE US. I learned that from a little beagle going thru customs.........

The cost of a taxi to go off the resort seemed a little extreme, but otherwise it was a great trip!!! I am sure I missed some activities, but check them out on line and give Sarah @ Beach Bum Vacation a call she does a great job!!! We are looking forward to our next trip!!

My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights last October. Our room was right on the beach. Amazing view with a beautiful beach. The size of this resort is intimidating at first, but we adapted and got into our rhythm. Staff could've definitely been more friendly for the most part. Water sports team was very helpful and friendly. The beach bar was always busy and would take a while for drinks. The room we stayed in should be updated. I know they are in the process of updating rooms. We heard the noisy sound of power Sanders all day, kind of took way a little of the peace and quiet. We would stay again if prices would ease up a little. Definitely liked the atmosphere of couples negril better.

My husband and I spent a glorious week at CSA the last week in May and we can't wait to go back again in the future. I keep telling people that the thing that makes Jamaica so amazing are the people. Unlike other tropical destinations where the locals don't seem to really care about your happiness; the employees at CSA truly want you to have an amazing trip. They are constantly checking in with you to make sure your happy and that there isn't anything that they can do to make it better. Our main man Omar at the tikki bar closest to our Ocean front room was amazing. He made the best Dirty Banana you have ever tasted and always knew what our next drink should be. We traveled with two other couples which was nice because there was always someone to do things with, but all of the other couples we met on our trip were all so much fun. Our sit down meals were all great and as a person who is a bit of a foodie I wasn't really expecting to be 100% satisfied, but I really was pleased. The dinner service at Feathers was impeccable. All of the signs I look for in a true 5 star restaurant were met or exceeded. We ended almost every evening in the piano bar. Singing with the boys was one of the highlights of our trip. We also took two snorkeling trips and a catamaran sunset cruise. We loved having all of these excursions included in the price of our stay and really made the overall trip very affordable. In reading the reviews before our trip I will tell you that it's true that they may be a little stingy with the number of cans of coke or Red Stripe that you will find in your room fridge, but as far as making drinks in the room, we never really saw the need to do it. With Omar less than 50 steps away from our room it was easier to head to the tikki bar for a really well made drink then a self made drink. The cleaning ladies all did a nice job each day and our turn down service left us a sweet towel sculpture. It was Fun to find what she made us at the end of each day. Although we were told not to give financial gratuity to the resort workers, there were some people that we just couldn't not give a little something extra to. It was easy to do, we just added a little cash to our thank you notes on the last day. Although it was clearly not necessary we could see that it was appreciated. We didn't have any mosquito issues on our stay. There was a rain each and every afternoon that gave us a good reason to hold our "afternoon meeting" at our tikki bar. Many great memories were made at those meetings! Bring your large Tervis cup and top along, the bartenders are happy to fill those up for you with whatever you are drinking. Much easier than the tiny throw away cups they use at all the outdoor bars. Don't miss the yummy martinis at the martini bar upstairs next to the Thai restaurant. Great drinks and more great bartenders up there. We got great rates and advice from our travel agent Kelly Pinto at Berwick Travel. I would recommend her also, she found us a better price a week after we booked and adjusted the price accordingly. We also used the priority transfers going both ways. If you don't want to deal with the slight confusion of customs and such and looking forward to starting your vacation as soon as the plane hits the runway then I would recommend that upcharge. The outgoing club is really, really nice. It was a good surprise. I am sure there are other things I am missing but in conclusion if you are looking for a wonderful get away with loving wonderful staff CSA will be a great choice for you.

Room Tip: second or third floor are great.

This is our second trip to an all inclusive and last years stay was much more on the elegant side; but this had something the other place didn't. Friendly staff who cared when things didn't go right, entertainment staff such as Rosie, Camron and Andre' among others who made us feel at home!
The food was good, especially at Lemongrass and the breakfast at either Patois or the buffet. I was surprised at how helpful the woman was in the gift shop trying to find clothes for a hard to fit man, but she never rushed him.
We did go on two excursions from CSA; one to the Martha Brae river rafting which was very relaxing and on another day went up to an organic farm called Zimbali's and walked over the farm and then sat down to a 3 course meal prepared specifically for us. A must see for anyone who enjoys food!
We are already considering when to go back again- very relaxing!

Room Tip: We had a premier beachfront suite and although it had no t.v., we didn't really miss it. We hear...

We stayed at CSA during the first week of July. Overall, we had a wonderful trip!
The food and drinks were great. Jonnoy at the swim-up bar was wonderful. He struck up a conversation with us immediately and it was great to learn a bit about Jamaican life. He made an effort to get to know us and what we like to drink. Dinner at Lemon Grass and Feathers were both good. We had reservations initially for dinners and the catamaran cruise. But, I don't like to over plan our week, so the concierge was great at shifting around our reservations throughout the week when things would pop up.
If you are beach people, you are in luck! The beach is amazing and you can walk/run for a good 2 miles in at least 1 direction. Security is great and always checks with guests coming and going on the beach. As a more "swim-up pool bar" person than a beach person, this resort falls a little short. The pool area is small and quiet. There are no pool activities in this area like at Couples TI or Negril. But if you are looking for a quiet, romantic spot, this is a good option.
The only 2 major issues we encountered were towels and staff. We did have some staff that went above and beyond, but in general, the staff was not overly friendly. Many seemed annoyed to be working or wanted to quickly be done with serving us. AND, towels were VERY scarce. At first this didn't bother me, but by the end of the week, I was very annoyed.
When staying at other Couples resorts, we always recommend the catamaran cruise. As expected since it rains daily, it was raining when we left for the catamaran. However, I wish the staff would have predicted the massive storm we were about to have prior to us sailing out. The rain was so hard, we couldn't see the land that was only approx. 200 ft away. It was a little scary, but luckily the rain stopped when we got to the caves and we could enjoy the remainder of the trip.
We also paid for the romantic dinner on the beach ($170). I would not recommend this for the price. The food was good and service was nice, but I would not say that it's a $170 meal.

Overall, I'd recommend this resort. It doesn't have the grand, new feel that many resorts have now a days. But the cozy feel is a great option. I would recommend the small upgrade from Garden view to Great House. The upgrade gets you away from the main road that runs through Negril and the Great House is a nice location if you plan to spend a lot of time at the swim-up bar.

Room Tip: The Great House is a wonderful location.
