“Awesome Trip”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

This is a must-do experience, a great alternative to an all-inclusive. Loved every single minute of it. The staff was wonderful to us and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and part of the family. The resort is small and cozy with beautiful cottages and grounds. Love, Love, Loved It! There is a new pool and they were about to open the new restaurant. We will be going back much sooner than we originally planned.

This is an adorable little resort. I loved it! Cozy little cottage, very nicely painted. Grounds were kept extremely nice. Beach is excellent, shade too. Many chairs and umbrellas . The staff is great! The property manager there is very hands on and it shows, lots of extra details. It's not Sandals, much more laid back, not fancy, but sweet, very clean and well maintained. They have a brand new pool that is small but very nice. Just opened a new restaurant and bar area that is very modern and cozy for sunsets. We loved the lunch menu but were not crazy about the dinner selections, so we traveled up and down the beach for dinner, which was perfect. The room service is excellent. "Super" you are great, thanks for everything! They have nice refrigerators in the rooms and king beds. They go the extra mile to make sure your happy! Very impressed with this resort. Well definitely be back here!

Room Tip: They all looked good to me, great view everywhere. Room 513 was on the very tip on the beach and bar...

You will not be disappointed staying at these cottages steps from the beach. The staff is great. They searched and found my son's lost i-phone. Monique helps with everything. The bartenders are cool and the breakfast is great. I guess I have to say one thing that wasn't so perfect, the construction noise from the new units was a bit distracting but they didn't start too early.
We have travelled a lot and this is a Favorite. Thumbs Up!

Room Tip: Close to the beach are a little better but all are good.

We decided to try a different thing for Jamaica and not opt for a all-inclusive resort. Based on reviews, we chose Country Country. We arrived in the evening and the first thin that hit us were the tree frogs and chicadas, our night choir! We were quickly checked in and shown to our cottage, the first one next to the reception desk.

The grounds are great, and the new pool looks great. With the beach a few meters away, we chose for the beach every day. It was the low season, so there was plenty of room on the beds. The sea was great, nice clear water and a daily visit from a couple of somekind of frindly stingrays.

Breakfast is included, and you can pick from the menu. After trying a few dishes, I kept coming out on the banana pancakes. They're everything the other reviewers said, delicious! They have some nice lunch and diner selections as well, but if you walk a few minutes towards Negril, there are more great places. We can really recommend Marley's at the beach for both lunch and diner, but Margaritaville for a quick burger is great too. Almost everyday between 12 and 1, 'the Indian' would come by with a big cardboard box on his bike with the greatest patties and coco bread on the beach. For $1,50 you have a great lunch patty without moving an inch from your bed. If you want to have a nicer dinner than the beach places, we recommend 'Rock house'. Great cocktails, food and service with a stunning view. Average prices for lunch are $15 and for dinner about $25 a day including a softdrink, so take that into account when comparing to all inclusive.

We did some tours inland to get to know the real Jamaica and see some sights. We also did the Mayfield Falls river hike (bring good surfing shoes), and it was amazing! The snorkeling was great, thanks to Captain Mike. We arranged the trip through Jason the security guard at Country Country, and Mike picked us up at the beach. If you can, book the luminous lagoon trip. It's a long drive from Negril, but the water glowing around you as you swim is worth the trouble.

We discovered there was a party going on almost everynight somewhere on the beach. One night it went on until 5am, and you do hear the noise in your cottage. The staff can't do anything about it, but it is something to keep in mind. Our cottage was next to the washingroom of the resort next door, so we had some noise from that as well. We highly recommend to breing plenty of bug repellant and bite easing cream. We were stung very frequently by musquitos (my record was 15 times on one foot alone), and they seem to be most active around dusk and sunset.

Jamaicans are really friendly and honest, and if you're honest and polite you'll have the best time. Our worst annoyance was the fact that fat tourist don't seem to get that it's animal cruelty to want a horseride. You'll get a lot of attention on the beach from salesmen, but a polite handshake and a 'No tanks mon', will leave you both smiling.

All in all it was a great relaxing vacation. If you want a break from the big all inclusive resorts and opt for a small cottage resort with the freedom to explore Jamaican beach dining at its finest, Country Country is your place to go!

Room Tip: Ask for a room halfway the park, not near the front or near the beach for optimum rest.

Awesome spot, close to all amenities, beach is gorgeous, swimming is excellent, nice white sand. We ate at the resort, breakfast is one of the best we've had in Negril. The meals are tasteful, affordable and. the chef Zumba is is very talented. Eat the jersey chicken at Aunties and the Negril Tree House and of course 3 Dives. The Hotel has beautifully kept grounds, pool is clean and secluded, most of the Restaurant employees are fantastic, some not...
Shall we say "overly accommodating or friendly", but in all fairness they probably have seen some really demanding Moronic ignorant tourists too lol. We are Canadian and for the most part we are very polite and love to talk to the employees as we would friends, this is a difference I believe, as it showed on our trip, we stayed 10 days, had a spectacular stay, and would return in a heartbeat, it's an unspoiled gem.

My husband and I stayed here last week for our honeymoon. This was my 3rd time in Jamaica but first time staying at Country Country.
The grounds are beautiful as well as the rooms, very relaxing environment and of course the beach is perfect. Everything was very clean and tidy. If you want more of a Jamaican experience and less of a big, crowded resort..this is the perfect place to be.
My ONLY complaint is the staff at the Restaurant. The women are have nasty attitudes daily. The men aren't much friendlier. I had read reviews about the staff there before we went and those were definitely true. When you go up to order something, sometimes you're given no attention at all for a while which is obviously awkward. The women in the restaurant really made me not want to order anything from there our entire stay just so I didn't have to deal with them! The other guests whom we mingled with during our stay felt the same way. Rude rude rude. Unfortunately, I don't think we would stay here again simply because of the women in the restaurant. For that, I have to rate the service very low.

All other staff at the cottages were extremely friendly, kind and always made us feel welcomed! Thank you!

We stayed here for 4 short days and loved it. The beach is beautiful and the property is small and lovely, with the friendliest staff you'll ever meet. Everyone made us feel so welcome and the security is great. The only drawback is that we had a cottage across the street and had to dodge traffic to get to the beach side. Whoever was on guard duty always made sure we made it safely across the street and the roomy cottage we had more than made up for it. Breakfast is nice and included in the price. The lounge area has wifi and that came in handy to check in for our flight. On the day of departure, my cousin's son left his carryon in the lounge area and did not realize it until we got to the airport. We called and talked to Serita who had it sent to us with a shuttle that was leaving at the time, free of charge. We are so grateful that our mistake was not as costly as it could have been. Thank you, Monique, chef Neville, Africa, Serita, to mention a few, for making our stay so relaxing. We hope to go back soon.

Room Tip: Try to get a cottage on the beach side to avoid the traffic. If you want quiet, avoid staying over...
