The grounds of this hotel are exquisite. The food is amazing- very tasty with wonderful variety. There are beautiful pools on the grounds, and the beach is right across the street. I felt pampered the entire trip!
The true beauty of this hotel, though is in the people. The managers and staff were so welcoming and friendly. They made the trip so much fun!

Be careful on the beautiful wood floors and steps when it rains. They are highly polished, and there are no anti-slip strips in place on the steps.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road.

The hotel is perfect for couples, well kept gardens and charming cabins. Swimming pool and lobby well decorated. Convenient beach grill. The beach is a 10 min walk from pool and rooms. sea is very tranquil. I only wish hotel had more activities and more food choices. Jamaican hospitality is wonderful!

We stayed for a week, and really enjoyed the clean, uncrowded beach and the laid back resort. Reggae music is in the background all the time.

We walked along the beach to check out the other resorts which are jam-packed several chairs deep with loud music, parents yelling at their kids, and other silliness.

Breakfast is a great start to the day. The beachside grill is fast and good. the beer is cold and you don't have to wait.

The dinners are okay but it gets boring, so two nights we took a cab ride into very nice seaside restaurants in Negril: $20 each way, plus tip, in addition to the meal.

After a hard day at the beach we enjoyed our private balcony in the jungle....snoozed there often, distrurbed only by birds.

The piano player in the evening is a true star!

Nighttime entertainment was okay; some are better than others; what do you want for free?

We found the pool to be small. Wifi only in the lobby.

Some of the staff are a little too eager for tips; just be aware that over-the-top friendliness, isn't.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the road; it can be noisy.

We stayed at Sunset at the Palms for 11 nights, at the end of May and beginning of June of 2014. My husband and I totally loved the privacy of our tree-house and the lush tropical grounds around us. It was fun to sleep to the sounds of nature at night, crickets, birds and cicades, wake up in the morning and have our coffee outside on our porch to start the day. We felt we could have our privacy or go talk to other people if we wanted, so it really was a big plus that the hotel was small and not crowded. I can recommend the grounds tour with Shorty, who is the hotel grounds-keeper, and very knowledgeable about all plants and trees, we did it one day and enjoyed.
We were a little concerned about food and restaurants before we came, but food was really good, dinner menu changed every day, so we did not get bored although we ate at the hotel restaurant almost every day. We attended Chef's table one evening and were glad we did, as it was an entertaining show, and had good food. They served up local specialties, like ackee and breadfruit, beside other things, and it was fun to taste it.
Staff was nice and helpful, restaurant waiters and waitresses very friendly and prompt, just remember that tips are always appreciated.
Hotel beach was wonderful, with white sand and calm waters, excellent for swimming and sun-bathing. We walked the beach from one end to the other, as we liked to walk, and it was about 1.5 miles, with lots of large hotels nearby.
One thing to know is that the Sunset at the Palms is somewhat far from Negril. We had to take a taxicab to go to explore Negril attractions and Seven-Mile Beach. Of course, plenty of cab drivers ready to assist you, but if you like to discover things on your own, then you just could not do it from here, plus it was a 30$ round-trip to Negril.
But overall, it was a great vacation in a wonderful hotel with a beautiful beach.

Room Tip: We were in a tree-house of 200 numbers, and our room was very quiet and private, next door to tennis and fitness center, with an AC unit not above the bed, but on the side wall.

We stayed at SATP June 7 - 14, 2014. What a great place!! It is a relatively small and quiet resort. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind then this is it. The staff are wonderful, the grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. The food is good and plentiful.

The treehouse accommodations are so private and nice. The only complaint about them is no door on the bathroom or they have a lattice type door – not much privacy. Took a little training but once we figured out the AC the room was great. Love the balcony with daybed and table for two. Again very private. We stayed in room 401 which was about 50 steps to the pool and had the most amazing view from the balcony. The room had a mini fridge with beer, pop and water.

After reading other reviews, I was concerned about the bugs but we took some natural repellant and only got a few bites. Not a concern at all. We were able to drink the water and no montezooma’s revenge which I normally get when travelling to the Caribbean.

Props to the girls at the front desk, Kemp and many other wonderful staff members.

Only complaint would be more music at the pool bar. It was very mellow music and not really loud enough.

We will definitely be going back again. Might just be our annual “unplug” trip!

Room Tip: 401 was close to the pool and buffet. You could hear a little noise at night but no big deal. Great view on the balcony and very private.
