What a great way to visit 7 Mile Beach. Our driver, Cedric, took us to the Charela Inn, We paid $30 for 2. We received a ticket which gave us a $30 credit toward food, drinks, alcohol; your choice. We also got use of 2 beach loungers, 2 beach towels and a little side table. Great location on the beach, palm trees provide shade. Bathrooms available. Great food, great prices, perfect location, super friendly staff!!

A group of us stayed in Negril, Jamaica for ten days during March of this year. My husband and I stayed at Charela and our friends stayed at a hotel next door. We were very pleased that our room was comfortable, clean, and right off the beach. The people that work at Charela are amazing. So friendly and accommodating. Ken the bartender, Cheryl the maid, Althea at the front desk, and our favorite food server Moya were great. We loved the entertainment and the food was terrific. They bake their own breads, too. We almost didn't leave the property at all. So peaceful.

First don't tell too many people about this oasis. Keep it to yourselves and the dozens of us who come back year after year.

Owned by a Jamaican and French wife and run by their family they have made us feel like family for more than a dozen years. Staff remain loyal and they remember every returning guest.

The Grizzels continuously improve this gem. The huge beachfront has even been improved with palm trees we have wAtched grow from seedlings after a major storm. Their rooms are generous in size and each face a great view either the sea or the garden. Their landscaper is out there every day taking tender care of each plant or tree. New rooms follow the tradition of a mix of Jamaican with modern comforts. They even have four poster beds.

Breakfast has home made pastry. (Croissants to die for) and eggs, bacon and veggies almost all from their farm.

And wow those sunsets. With the property facing the seA due west, they are spectacular. The night sky is huge and I fondly remember my young children amazed the first time they realized they were the same stars from home just brighter.

This is a place to melt your stress away and be with a staff whose job it seems is to help you relax.

Recommended by dear friends who visit the Charela Inn yearly, my wife and I just returned after a 6 day stay at this most elegantly appointed Inn. Without a doubt, the Charela Inn is located on the most gorgeous stretch of "Seven Mile Beach." Sitting under Palm trees, sipping cocktails and reading a good book is what makes this Inn so wonderful. The staff is always smiling.....waiting to fulffill any of your requests. I walked the entire beach and most of the other hotels have limited beach front property due to beach erosion. However, Charela is blessed with the largest beach front where you are protected from the sun by towering Palm trees.
As recommended by my friends.....I highly recommend the Charela to you.

Room Tip: Junior suite is magnificent!

Their beach is one of the best on 7 mile Negril. Staff are caring and food is good. Rooms are clean and attractive. The lifeguard, Steve, is so friendly and accommodating, always asking if everything is alright. The waitresses are friendly and efficient. Thank you Alice for going the extra mile without us even asking! Thank you to the owner for making sure we were comfortable.

I don't write reviews as often as I should, but my short trip to Negril and The Charela Inn has propelled me to do so. My sister and I met for my birthday weekend, leaving 2 husbands and 5 kids behind. We were looking for a beautiful spot on the beach, a place we felt safe and a nice, clean room. Charela provided this and so much more.
First off, it truly was the best spot in the beach; Charela's beach is about five times wider than any of the surrounding properties. With palm trees instead of umbrellas, it truly is a tropical paradise. In fact, the lush gardens throughout the property really added to the ambiance.
Second, safety was very important. And to this end, we not only felt safe, but well-taken care of. Security was there, but in an unobtrusive way. In fact, we left feeling like friends with the beachfront team, Reuben and Steve. So many people complain of "hawkers" in Negril and while this never bothered me while walking on the beach (a firm and friendly 'no' always works), it was very nice not to worry about this while spending the day on a beach chair. If we wanted to buy something we could (try the Coco bread and cheese every morning, delicious), but if we wanted to be left alone, Steve and Reuben would kindly send people on their way for us. I can't thank them enough for adding to our trip.
And finally our room: we had a beach front deluxe and the view was fantastic. I would certainly recommend one if it's within your budget. However, we did not spend much time in the room and the garden view rooms look out to really beautiful gardens. The rooms are lovely, not fancy, not trendy, but clean, safe and comfortable.
I also want to mention that this hotel has a European feel and while we were there, the guests were mostly from Germany and Italy. We ate in the restaurant a few times, but we really enjoyed trying different places on the West End and on the beach. I had a wonderful massage with Janet (Jeannette?)-she's the one dressed in white-it was outstanding.
All in all, this place met all our needs and then some. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ocean view was fantastic.

Charela Inn the discreet charm of peace & tranquility, good company and fine food. Nothing more ... Nothing less. CHARELA INN resort sits elegantly on the famous Negril Beach, by the Caribbean Sea. Beyond the sand lies a lawn and two large patios to dine "Al fresco" or simply sip cocktails while watching the sunset. All 47 rooms are built around an inner court yard in an Hacienda style with a round fresh water swimming pool in the centre of the yard, and a lush tropical garden with hibiscus, night jasmine, bougainvilleas etc. As well as many birds including our national doctor bird. Each room has either a private patio or a private balcony. All public access at Charela Inn are designed to accommodate the physically impaired, along with three dedicated ground floor rooms.
