My husband and I chose Rondel Village largely because of many positive reviews on Trip Advisor and our experience there in mid-April definitely met our expectations. It is a place where many guests return year after year... we met a group of couples from Washington State who've been coming for 15 years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our chambermaid, Beatrice, was a real sweetheart and the security guards John-o, Carl and Edward were always smiling. Edward got a kick out of us trying to eat a mango and the next day when we awoke there were 8 of them on the table outside our villa door -picked from his backyard.
We stayed on the garden side (cheapest villas) and loved it - very private with a lovely pool and beautiful plantings. Our villa was clean and spacious; most nights were quiet and when the disco next door was operating (Thursday and Friday night) the sound of the air conditioner muffled any noise so we slept well.
The beach is lovely - incredibly warm, clear water, and great for walking. Once we got used to dealing with the vendors ("I'm good, mon. Respect.") we looked forward to long walks every day.
The restaurant at Rondel Village is nothing special and relatively expensive so we ate only one breakfast there and then went to dinner at places recommended by people we met on the beach. Our favorite was Best of the West (jerk chicken, fish, etc.) just down the road on the non-beach side. For lunch we ate patties from the beach vendors or from Niah's stand just down from the hotel. We made 2 trips to Negril to stock up on yogurt, granola, fruit and Red Stripes from the supermarket (refrigerator in villa kept things cold) and ate most breakfasts on the patio of our villa.
All in all, we were very pleased with our stay and enjoyed getting to know the local culture more than we would have if we had stayed at an all-inclusive.

rondel village is a beautiful hotel, my husband and i went and stayed in the villa tangerine on november 13th for the week. the first half of our trip was amazing. but then we com eback to our hotel rooma nd to our suprise there are multiple house keepers in our room just hanging out. visiting with our house keeper. we thought it was strange but didnt care much because everyone was so nice. but then we go into the safe that you have to pay $3.00/night extra for, and find that we have money missing. not all of it but none the less hundreds of dollars of money was gone. we went to the front desk and complained and they acted concerned but then proceeded to blow us off. then we got the police involved. needless to say the second half of our trip was ruined thanks to the personell of rondel village i would highly suggest NOT staying here.

Room Tip: stay away from rooms with safes that use keys.

We just returned from a one week stay in Negril, Jamaica. My husband and I went with our cousins from California and loved Rondel Village. This was the first time I have stayed there and we loved it! It is centrally located on the 7 mile beach and while right in the heart of the action, it is set back a little from the beach and relaxing and quiet when you want it to be. We had the Melon room which we thought was the best room on the property as it overlooked the beach and ocean and had a nice balcony where we had coffee every morning. The staff for the most part was courteous and friendly with the exception on one rude bartender at night (female). It was perfect beach vacation!!!!!

We just got back from a wonderful stay at Rondell Village. Check in and out were a breeze. We had a third floor Superior Room, beach side, with a nice balcony that look out over the pool. We opted to rent a coffee maker for our room and enjoyed early coffee in the morning, we provided the coffee of course! The beach was very clean and we swam everyday! Many helpful staff and beach attendants were avalible the ask questions and just talk to about their country. Very nice hotel for the price. The fruit lady , fresh juice guy and the fresh breads guy were awsome to buy from each day. Don't forget the Jerk pork guy also, it was great! The maid cleaned the room in the afternoon and was very friendly. Please leave a nice tip for her! This hotel is very quiet and relaxing. we walked the beach each morning and them just laid around in the afternoon and mostly read. The restaurant and bar are seperate from the hotel. You can set up a tab with a credit card to charge any meals or drinks there and settle up at the end of your stay. The breakfast was good and the dinners were too. We ate some meals there and also ventured out many times to try other places. You must have Niah's Patties, they are the best you'll ever have! It was very nice to walk up and down the beach and just walk into any bar or restaurant to enjoy what they had. I would surely stay at Rondell Village again!

Myself along with my wife and another couple just returned from Rondel Village located on the 7 mile beach in Negril. In the past we have usually gone to all Inclusive resorts but began to tire of them for many reasons.

So I did some research on various small properties in Negril and chose Rondel Village based on all the positive reviews. Let me tell you we travel often and this had to be one of the best experiences we have ever had.

The management, GM, Carolyn Wright has to be commended as the property is outrageous. I will begin with the room. We had a superior room which consisted of two twin beds, bath with a changing room and a wonderful balcony which over looked the pool. The room was spotless.

There is a restaurant/bar on the beach which I found out during my stay is not connected with the hotel. I must say you would not know that unless you were told as again they were also spotless and the food and drink were very good and resonably priced.

The beach was also beautiful and the man assigned to the beach either John or Carl were always there to assist you with a chair or any other needs you may have.

The location of the hotel is perfect as you are kind of in the middle of the 7 mile beach and can just walk up and down the beach and stop in for lunch a drink or a quick patty (Niah's-the best).

As I stated earlier the management of this property needs to be commended as the staff are great. They are so personable and will do anything to please you. It is amazing that in the short time you are there these people know who you are and also what your likes and dislikes are. That also goes for the people who work at the bar/restaurant.

We were in Run Away Bay Ithirty years ago and hated our experience and this was our first time back to Jamaica. Needless to say it will not be our last and when we return I would not even consider another property which was the same feeling expressed by the couple who went with us.

3rd visit to Rondel Village for a week away from the cold in February, as soon as we got out of the cab we were greeted by so many familiar faces it feels like we never left. Nothing makes vacation better than feeling at home as soon as you arrive. The rooms and property are always clean at Rondel Village and are constantly maintained. The superior rooms and villas are spacious and most of them have a private patio that overlooks the gardens or the ocean. The beds in the rooms are ok, the room we had last year was a little more comfortable, but i have definitely had worse at much more expensive hotels. Overall, Rondel Village is a great small hotel and would always be my first pick for Negril.
