“The best place to stay if you're looking for a more authentic Jamaican experience!”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

This trip was to be an escape for my husband and I away from it all. I wanted a stay away from the package all inclusive resorts. The staff from begining to end was very nice and helpful from letting me know what chicken patty vendor was good to having great conversations with them. I like the fact this resort was built and owned by a Jamaican family. You could see the staff had a real pride in their resort and employer. The walks on the beach were spotted with vendors, a polite "no thank you" was typically sufficient to keep moving. Definitely recommend doing the snorkel tour with Desmond and crew!

We had a fabulous stay at rondel village on our second week of our honeymoon, fabulous staff, great food - the best cocktails especially the Delroy Special - Negril was fun with lots of water sports or sailing trips to the caves & Ritz Cafe. Also great for lovely rest on the beach fabulous.

My husband and i stopped here last year for a few days and we loved it, the place was very clean the location was fanstastic for the nightclub that is in Negril , it is right next door.

We had the room that was not on the beach front but over the road, and we loved it, i am hoping to stay there again, just a fantastic little place

Room Tip: the ground floor room over the road from the beach was really nice

My husband and I rented a 2 BR suite on the beachside of the resort we had several children with us. The property is well maintained and the staff is great!
-Check-in was swift and efficient
-The 2 BR unit was right outside the pool, which seemed like our very own pool!
-The property is well maintained and managed. The grounds are beautiful and it felt like we were alone most of the time, only occasionally seeing other guests outside our room. Though I believe the hotel was rather full.
-The unit itself was well equipped with everything we needed which came in handy with all the kids.

My only complaint was that the housekeeper/cook (the suites come with assistance of a cook for one meal a day) didn't seem to listen well when it came to simple instructions, she seemed to overwhelm easily. I, honestly, could have done better myself (my husband is Jamaican, so I do cook Jamaican food as well). Also we had several instances where we couldn't find her to let her know we needed her help. I was not impressed.

Other than that small situation, we absolutely LOVED the place! We would definitely come back!

Room Tip: The 2 BR suites are fantastic, ours was Grape, right next to the pool! Steps from the beach.

the room was like a clean roomy motel. pool view across the street from the beach side. 2 regular size bottle water, icebox, balcony for sitting. the bed was very very hard, hard stiff wash clothes & towels. great beach, location is in the middle of 7miles beach. a few restaurant & a small grocery store that will cheat you out of your monies. That grocery store next door to Sweet spot local restaurant. the hotel staff & owners are pleasant, it's a family run hotel/motel.... yes, there is 1 bar, 1 over-price restaurant. Food is decent..... the service charge is 10% & 10% tax on each restaurant bill!!! the young guy did not give me back ALL my change from a $20 bill. I had lunch there ..... a total of 2 meals there b/c the food prices were better in the same areas of walking distance along the road.... hotel mgmt. was told of the issue with the monies & I was offered 2 drinks at happy hours which is once a wk on Wed. from 5-6pm. there are a few cottages that are on the beach side as well as rooms. would l stay here again? NO. the daily charge for Wifi is $10.50 per day, $3.60 room safe. if u want a person to stay over there is an extra charge of $20 plus taxes. the security staff is very good.... felt safe here as I was a solo traveler. I did not stay here the entire stay I transferred (pre-arranged) at Samsara. the soap was so small I take it for washing hands and face only. happy I had my personal soap. bug bites are horrible in the room & on the beach, do bring plenty of bug sprays. worst at evening/nite. too many people trying to get you to spend monies on what they are selling. this is a VERY poor county and the people are making very very low wages!!!! Be aware, hotel taxis are expensive b/c they work for the hotel. not a bad place to stay, just the add-on is a big much..... the gate is locked in the parking area across the street at 10pm. u have to go around. a bit of how to get out b/c there is no sign saying go this way???? the nite security helped. good working a/c in the Cherimoya room

Room Tip: go 4 the cottages that are big. I heard u get 1 meal per day cooked for u by a staff. whirlpool is...

Rondel Village offers a beautiful, lush setting on Seven Mile Beach. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. There are rooms facing the beach but even the ones a short walk away have really nice views of the grounds. But the can't miss part of your visit has to be the beach front bar. Say hello to bartender Delroy and have him whip you up a drink and order a bowl of shrimp soup from the restaurant. Then relax and enjoy the view. (The restaurant on property is very good also, but you should really walk down the street to find some Jerk, it is necessary).

The grounds are very lovely & the rooms are very spacious, but need updated. The beds are hard & uncomfortable. Security guard Hugh, was absolutely wonderful, truthful, and trustworthy. Hugh will point you in the right direction on any question or concern you may have. Delroy was great & had a lot of fun with him, already miss those dirty bananas. Donna was excellent and kept every thing clean. Rondel village has a few problems though. Don't use their taxi, they charge way too much money. Use a local taxi with a red license plate, you will save money & be safe. When we asked the front security to call us a taxi, he refused, so we went to the front lobby & had one of the girls call for us. Printing our return flight tickets was very difficult. The computer & printer was very old & not working. After an hour and a half the girl in the lobby finally agreed to print it on her computer. The wrist bands they make you wear are very annoying, swetty, & cause you to get a white ring around your wrist due to the sun. Their reasoning for the wrist bands is safety reasons, but they know who is staying there. This is not an all inclusive hotel, anything extra you pay for; safe - $3 a day, internet - $3 a day, coffee pot - $3 a day. Rondel Village is centrally located which is great for walking the beach. Over all, we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Staying on ocean side was very convient. If you want to buy something off the hustlers, ask Hugh wh...
