“Welcome home to paradise...”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

After years of dreaming about coming to jamaica and lota of research about the island and its various resorts, my husband and I finally decided that banana shout was the perfect place for us to spend our 2 week honeymoon, and we could not have been more right. From the moment we entered the breath taking resort we knew it was just the perfect spot for us. We were literally welcomed with open arms by milo and Marrianne, who instantly became more to us than just hosts. The location is the most amazing I have ever been, to wake up every morning to sound of the waves and then to step out to lie on your hammock and watch what seems like your own personal ocean (with dolphins swimming) is really something special indeed. We spent most of our 2 week stay inside the banana shout resort, getting to know milo, marrianne, plug, Barbara, jah, aubie (who makes thw best burgers at his resteraunt down the road) ashmond (the most talented carver i have ever seen) and Noel the bush dr (who is the most fascinating rasta ive met, he deserves so much respect!)They were all so welcoming and really happy to fully emerge you in the Jamaican lifestyle. These people all became friends to us, and we already miss their company and can't wait to return to see them again. It really is a true slice of Jamaican perfection. I could write all day about our stay at banana shout, so many memories were made there which will last a life time, thank you so much to milo and Marrianne and the rest of our jamaica family for making our dream come true, we will be back to see you sooner than you think!!!

One love to all, I have a tear in my eye :( miss you guys!! Kerry and Rick! Xxxx

This place is a good value compared to others in Negril. It is not a resort in that sense, but provides great opportunity to mingle with people, to fall asleep to the sounds of the waves, and.. to fall in love with Jamaica.
At the time we were here, there had been some issues -like lack of water-/pressure, which we believe could have been avoided by going through a short checklist each day. It didn't disturb us, as we took it as a chance to get to know the daily problems of the island. Moreover, Milo and Marianne were always keen to make our stay comfortable; they were great hosts.
All in all, we spent 4 wonderful nights at Milo's place, and ever since dreaming of coming back one day- hopefully sooner than later.

Three friends and I stayed at Banana Shout and really enjoyed it. We had our own little house with two rooms and a balcony, and the place overlooked a nice little cove. The cove had cliffs to dive off (or a ladder for those less enthusiastic) plus a big 4-person float so relax on. Lots of room elsewhere too, places to sit outside and the like. The staff was friendly and helpful, making us coffee in the mornings and if we asked, Jamaican breakfast (plantains, greens, and so on.) They'd also run errands for us (make sure to tip) and there's also a driver, housekeeper and security guard. There was also a cool old Rasta guy who hung out there.

The place is right near a little grocery store with the necessities and next door to Rick's, a big, popular tourist bar. It's also walkable to a bunch of other really good local (non-touristy) restaurants. A cab down to the beach area costs about $10.

Milo, the owner, is also really cool and knows good bars on the beach to hang out at.

The rooms are definitely a little rustic (no A/C, but we didn't need it) but they were clean and the shower worked just fine.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view!

We were travelling as a couple (both 30 years) and we really loved our stay at the Banana Shout.
We booked our stay (including airport transfer) beforehand by directly contacting Milo, the owner of the resort.
When we got there we found out that the place is absolutely amazing:
Four nice cottages surrounded by plants, flowers and several artworks done by local artists. We stayed in the “treehouse“ which offers you a perfect view over the carribean sea from its veranda. The resort is located at the cliffside of Negril what allows you to jump directly into the water from its cliffs (it`s also possible to enter the ocean by using a ladder). There it was also possible to enjoy the sun in the “relaxation station“! Should it happen that the sea someday is too rough you can also refresh yourself in the cooling pool. Furthermore we really enjoyed the fresh water shower which has been installed in the cave down at the ocean.
But the most important thing which made our stay that excellent were the owners, Milo and Marianne, who really did everything to make sure that we felt at “home“ and enjoyed our stay to the max (don`t forget to try Milo`s fresh basil pasta!!!!). Thank you guys! If there was any wish left, the employees Barbara, Plug, Jah Round and Ashmond were very pleasant and helpful (even at night or in the early morning ;)). You should also grab the chance to enjoy an „AhhBee“-Burger which is really superb.
All in all, it was an excellent stay at the Banana Shout and we will surely come back next year!

We had a fantastic stay in Banana Shout! Only 4 rooms, so nice privacy, very nice owners, relaxed atmosphere in a very beautiful location. Milo and Marianne really do their best to make sure their guests enjoy their stay! We had nice dinner with them twice, which was really nice and made our stay something special. Really enjoyed our private Aaahhh Bees burger dinner (best regards to Aubie & Melody as well). "Cooling pool" is superb addition to the place if the waves happen to be rough! Banana Shout would absolutely be our choise always in Negril! All the best to whole Banana Shout family! One love.

Been to many places in the Caribbean& stopped searching when we arrived at Banana Shout in 2007. Property is beautiful, intimate, great sunset/view & great rate. Cottages are nicely done & clean. The entire staff is warm & welcoming, like family. Its not a full service resort and that’s what we love about it, you get to enjoy a more real Jamaica. Food & grocery very close w/all you need. Milo & Marianne are very caring, helpful & took us on an emergency visit to the Dr. Over the years, they have ALL become very dear friends to us. As far as service, we had no problems ever, they do all that they possibly can for their guests but we understand it's Jamaica, See you again in Dec.!

Room Tip: Front cottages are great but have stayed in all and love them.

This was our second time staying at Banana Shout. We spent one night here on our way home in 2012 and fell in love with the place. We stayed two weeks this time, had a wonderful time. Milo and Marianne are awesome host, they treat you like family. You get the sense that they really care about you and go out of their way to make your stay unforgettable.
So many awesome people coming and going, with interesting stories to tell. The staff is fantastic helping out with anything you need. Jahround is the cab driver on site, he took us to the most amazing destinations that we would never have found without his help.
Thank You all for making our stay unforgettable. See you next year.
