“couldn't ask for more!”
Reviewed 29 November 2011

My fiance and I stayed three nights at Banana's Gardens and it was absolutely perfect! We couldn't ask for a better value. Exactly the type of place you feel like you can unwind and truly relax. It felt like our home in paradise. There are several small, rustic (but very well maintained), cutely decorated cottages on the property which provides tons of privacy. The location is across from the cliffs but there is a nice pool and we had easy access to the cliffs at Banana's Shout. We loved our little cottage, which was unique, beautiful and minimalistic. Simple, but had everything we needed and then some. We don't like large, cookie-cutter resorts and this was exact opposite, which was perfect for us. There are personal, handmade, thoughtful touches throughout the property and it felt as if we were visiting a good friend who watched over us our entire stay. The wonderful bed, linens and towels were appreciated after a day in the sun and sea. We loved our open air bathroom and there was hot water available. The little kitchen with refrigerator was great.

Nicole, Opal and the rest of the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful and we missed them as soon as we left. Such wonderful people that we truly enjoyed spending time getting to know. The property is completely secure and the two night watchdogs made us feel completely at ease at night and were a welcome sight while we were missing our own dogs. Nicole had great suggestions about where to eat, visit and helpful tips for the area. The property is so green and lush and provides much privacy and beauty. The little lizards would wander by as if weren't even there. We sat on our little porch for hours. Location is great! The Westend or cliffs is much more laid back than the beach and offers a ton of variety of places to stay, eat and play. Banana's Gardens is very close to several restaurants and mini-marts. I strongly advise taking a very cheap cab ride anytime after sunset. The area was a bit noisy at night with dogs and partiers, but Nicole had ear plugs on hand for us if we wanted.

A wonderful breakfast, coffee and juice is included each morning, hand delivered with smiles and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! The perfect way to start a new day! A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone at Banana's Gardens! We loved it and will most certainly visit again!

Room Tip: We stayed at the Breadfruit cottage and it was perfect for the two of us. Towards the front of the p...

My gf and I had an amazing experience here last August. The owner Nicole was really warm and friendly. She was a great help giving advice about how to deal with cab drivers and what to do at night and what restaurants to visit. There is a pool at Banana's and cliffs and Ricks across the street...I highly recommend it.

We were greeted warmly by Stucky at the airport and so the hospitality continued for our four night stay at the Garden.

We were able to do everything we wanted in Negril while staying at the Garden. It's an easy and cheap taxi trip to the beach, and walkable to all the great west end views, eats and dives. The cottages are so comfortable, luxurious without excess. The pool is a great way to spend to day chatting with the Garden crew.

Nicole, Opal, Dennis and Bobby were always looking out for us and will be part of my fondest memories of Jamaica.

Breakfast is really something to experience, made even better by Nicole and Opal's smiling faces!

Can't wait to come back!

We were treated like family from the time we arrived till we departed. The cottages are cozy, comfortable and I loved the outdoor shower!! The breakfasts are delicious - serving fresh fruit and local dishes. Amazing cooks!! Nicole, Opal and Bobby made our trip very special and have become great friends of ours. Definately a must stay to experience the Jamaican culture. Much Love!!

We went to Banana`s garden in may 19th and stayed there for three weeks. This was our honeymoon.
I chose this place, cause Nicole (the owner) was so nice and told me all I needed to know before we get there, cause this was our first time in Carribean. The price was low and we got a ride from Kingston to Negril from Duane, so we didn`t need to take a bus or anything like that.
There is good people working in the garden. Every morning Nicole brought fabulous breakfast to our veranda at the time we wanted, so you don`t need to worry about getting up too early if you don`t want to. Once I decided to wash the dishes, and the cleaning lady, Lovely Opal, told me not to. She cleans up the cottage every day and even washed our clothes, cause she saw our white pants getting so dirty :)
Where ever we wanted to go or do there was Dennis. He took us every where and even came with us to the beach, cause we asked him to join us. And then there is Bobby. He takes really good care of the pool and the paths to the cottages and everything. In the evenings we had the best time ever! Me and my huband, we love to play different kind of games. Nicole, Opal, Bobby and Dennis played with us several evenings and they teached us few new games, we hadn`t played before. We became so close with these people, I cried when it was our time to go home to Finland. I`m sure, if you go here, you won`t be dissapointed!

I really recommend this place to everybody, cause it`s a small, intim and fabulous place to forget everything and just relax. This really is the best place to be!

We had an amazing honeymoon in our little private cottage (The Ackee), which had only a bed (flower petals on it when we arrived!), a kitchenette, an open-air shower and a porch, where we'd sit to have our (delicious! healthy!) breakfast every morning. Just about everything we needed (+ love).
The eight days we spent there went by so fast, enjoying the peacefulness of the garden, watching sunsets on the cliffs across the street at Banana Shout, having lunch and dinner at local spots on the West End and, of course, going to the beach, which is a 2$ taxi ride away.
If you're looking for a beautiful yet unpretentious place to stay at, feel like being taken care of as if you were close friends, and discover (or rediscover) Negril with a less touristy-oriented point of view than usual - Banana's Garden is definitely the place for you.
I'd go back anytime. Like, right now :)
