“This is Paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 January 2014

We spent 2 nights at the SPA Retreat Boutique Hotel in December 2013. We have not been able to stop talking about it since then! Its wonderful. It's situated on the cliffs off West End road overlooking the beautiful Caribbean sea about 5 minutes drive from the Negril town centre and 10 minutes from Negrils famous 7 mile beach. The Resort itself is small and intimate, the antithesis to the large soulless all inclusive options we've tried before, there is a genuine concern for your wellbeing that I have never felt elsewhere. We came tired and left refreshed with memories that will never fade. Our only regret is we couldn't stay for longer in our fabulous Garden Hut No.5. The combination of handmade wood and stone enclosed by the most beautiful garden immediately transported us where we wanted to be...away from it all. Go sun lounging on their 'beach' patio overlooking the cliffs, and when it gets too hot go cliff diving or snorkling (they provide the gear for free!), then have some cocktails by the bar and watch the most beautiful sunsets imaginable. This is a haven from the world, there is no TV just peace and quiet in a place of understated luxery. The beauty of Jamaica encapsulated and concentrated for your enjoyment. The staff are ever attentive yet not intrusive, you're given a mobile phone with credit that gives you a direct line to each member individually even the owner, such a nice touch. Do yourself and loved one a favour go to Jamaica and stay here as long as you can here. Big up SPA retreat! we will return.

We spend four nights at the SPA Retreat and loved everything about it. The food at the restaurant was excellent, the staff was amazing - incredibly helpful and accommodating, including the owners who went all out. The setting was beautiful - gorgeous position on the ocean - wonderful swimming and just hanging out. Rooms were great, especially the balcony rooftops. Overall it was a lovely holiday - very quiet and relaxing at the hotel and close enough to the beach where we could walk and spend the day or get to any other night activities. Terrific from start to finish - would go back in a heartbeat!

We went stayed at three different hotels in Jamaica on our trip and The SPA Retreat by far was the best. Staff was always very happy, service was great, food was very good and the rooms were awesome! We hope to be back soon.

The staff is attentive, polite and will cater to whatever you need. The views are absolutely gorgeous and amazing. The food is to die for!! Perfect portion sizes and made to perfection. The bartender (Richmond) makes drinks like it's an art, and is gorgeous and funny also. The rooms are beautiful and all have private entrances as they are cute little huts. The owners live there and are Canadians (from Ottawa) who built the resort as they dreamed it up. The stones used to build it were all hand cut on the grounds. The dog they own is cuter than ever and wants everyone to swim with her <3 adorable!!! I have not one bad thing to say about this resort and I'm already planning my next trip there. 5 out of 5 stars! Amazing!

This place is like a jewel in negril , soon to be discovered .The owners ,Steve and Christine have really put a warm and great team to run the SPA. Right from Heather setting up our activities to amazing chefs, cabanas and finally to top it off Sunset SPA. Definitely worth every penny!

The staff are more like family that come with the room. Tacita, Rockie, Tones, Dwayne, Marcia and many names I know I forgot, sorry. We arrived on 11-28-2013 to Gail Force winds that were crashing over the cliffs onto the pool and the surrounding beachy area throwing fish, seaweed and various other sea creatures over the wall (I actually retrieved several light fixtures that were pounded of by the monster waves. the resort was pounded for a couple of more days while the staff worked tirelessly to restore it. the pool had to be drained, the ladder for snorkeling access had gone in the brink. so we pretty much just chilled and enjoyed everything Jamaica has to offer. the sunsets were beautiful as advertised. thanks again to everyone for such a wonderful stay.

This is way overdue but still so well deserved! As I sit here in -11 degree celsius I figured it was time :)

My husband Tony and I arrived in mid September, so it had just stopped raining but was still pretty hot. As soon as we arrived, while awesome Heather set up our return pick up with the driver, Marcia walked in with some refreshing drinks for us.

We had arrived on a week after a wedding had occurred, so it was a little bit quiet at the hotel, but the attention and service we received was absolutely phenomenal. We had booked the rooftop cottage but since they had other rooms available they upgraded us to the seaside cottage. We then got a tour of the grounds which I have to tell you, the pictures on their website are great but nothing can beat being there to see it for yourself!!

The staff are awesome and so professional! Please tell Shane we miss his ackee and saltfish and the dumplings! Marcia and Dwayne were so friendly and super professional. Townis, the security at the gate, was so nice and friendly as well. Everyone always took time to talk to us and give suggestions on places to go. It was always nice to see Nick every morning on our way to breakfast because he was always friendly and checked to see how we were doing.

The property is just gorgeous! The rooms are nice and roomy and the architecture of the entire resort is just beautiful. Tony and I went to seven mile beach just one day to check it out, and within a couple hours we were ready to go back to the hotel because we preferred the peace and quiet of the hotel being on a cliff and a little secluded. With the salt water pool, man made beach and bar just a few steps away we didn't feel like we missed out on anything at all!

The owners Shane and Christine are really friendly and always take the time to make sure their guests are enjoying themselves. They pride themselves on the customer experience and you can see it in how their entire staff carries themselves and the care that is taken of this wonderful property.

Rosa is the most chill dog ever! She would hang out with us by the pool and just do her own thing, never intrusive and just awesome.

Bottom line, the hotel is absolutely phenomenal. Everything about our trip was made that much better because of the amazing attentive service we experienced from start to finish. If you dont book this hotel you'll be missing out on an amazing experience! We are definitely planning on going back and cant wait to see everyone when we go back :) Thanks to all of you for a wonderful anniversary trip we will never forget

Room Tip: The seaside cottages are well worth it!
