My husband has never been out of the country and does not like the heat....disaster waiting to happen, but he came (didnt have a choice. LOL) We both loved it!!! The staff are all wonderful. They all addressed us by name. Our great bartenders Michael and Jason (to name a few invited us to watch them play soccer, way cool. Oshane was one of many great wait staff. Snorkeling was terrific with Smiley and Big Papa. The food during the day wasnt to our taste but several we talked to loved it. Supper was great. I dont base my vacation on just food though. It was fine we of course ate. Room was clean and nice. If you want to be busy the whole time you could be they offer lots but we didnt do much but relax. We walked just outside the resort to Fireman's to have fresh lobster, would do for sure again! Im crazy when it comes to travel time so had read it all. It was great and will go back. We did carry on only which worked wonderful. If you need sunscreen i suggest going just off property to one of the little shops its about half the price. It was nice to be able to go and visit Beaches too.

Room Tip: We were right next to the main pool which was a little loud in the morning, since we arent morning p...

This trip was one of our very best Sandals visits in all. We have been going to Sandals for 12 years and this was an all time favorite. Everyone there treated us like royalty. The food was great, the beaches beautiful. Warren, the soon come back manager made sure that our days were exactly how we wanted them to be. Taking care of everything for us.
The most memorable moment for us was booking a trip to Ricks cafe via boat. We booked our trip thru the Water Sports desk. Ask for your tour to be with Big Papa and Orian. (spelling) We called him Orange. Orange and Big Papa were great. They handled the entire trip for us. We went by boat and Big Papa gave us the low down on Negril and the caves. Awesome. Well worth the additional cost.
Chris the bartender was also great. He would see us walking toward him and our drink of choice would be made and waiting on us. I can't say enough about all the help. Not one person was not smiling and greeting us as we strolled thru.
Because of this, I have to rate this Sandals top on our list. We have been to all of the Sandals at least once, most two and three times, and this it it. We are missing trips to the Bahama's and the two smaller resorts in St. Lucia.

We just came back from 2 wonderful weeks at Sandals Negril, 1/22 - 2/5. The weather was excellent and the staff were great. During the 2 weeks we were moved twice and if we had known they were going to move us the second time, we probably would have said don't bother. 2 of the the rooms were very updated and modern, the third was into the Paradise building and it is a bit dated especially the bathrooms. However, they did say that the would be modernizing them this summer, pulling out probably a floor at a time and bringing them forward with an all new facelift. We were there 2 years ago and they have improved a lot on the resort. Beach had been almost wiped out and now is very nice. Some firepits added that were well used every night. Meals were for the most part very good, though one night at Barefoot we waited about an hour for seats and food was far below the normal fare. Came back 2 nights later and it was great. We never ate at Sundowner as there was never less than a 40 minute wait and we didn't think the menu was that great to wait for it. Also seemed like if you had butler service they accepted reservations but not for those of us who didn't. Best was Cucina Romano and ate there 3 times. The chef Danner told us he was expecting to be on Iron Chef. Had 2 meals at Kimona's and when Gion was chef, it was much better. We especially enjoyed snorkeling every day and Big Pappa, Smiley, Rickey and Gary (photographer) made the trips always interesting. They did their best to make sure we had a good variety of spots as we did it every day and sometimes twice. We also took advantage of the tubing and usually did it at least once inthe morning and afternoon. They got to know us and did their best to give us great rides. This was our third stay and without a doubt our best stay at this resort. People are always friendly and helpful (though this was the first time I noticed people actively looking for tips, which is highly unusal). Alos the welcome back dinner the first week there was the very best of any of the Sandals we've stayed. We asked the head chef at the second dinner for his soup recipe and we had it before we started the meal. As a number of people mentioned it is a relatively small resort and therefore a little more prone to noise. But we learned a long time ago to pack ear plugs and didn't find it an issue. Spent a lot of time thinking about next year and with easy access from Philly and all the things we love to do, it was easy to return again next year.

Room Tip: Depending on your level there is a lot to chose from. For reasonable rates, low noise level, close t...

Depending on what you are looking for, Sandals could be just what you are looking for or, leave you wanting for more. Having been to a larger resort before in Jamaica, I found Sandals to be extremely quiet and the beach very small. There were a few very large groups there for weddings and with the beach so small, they can get annoying and trying to find another spot away from all the chaos mid-day is hard to do . The food is adequate and small portions ( pizza was great ) and the entertainment lacking. The rooms are small, size of a regular hotel room, and need updating. They really need an outlet in the bathroom for a hair dryer and the a/c unit above the door is noisy.

On the brighter side, being a smaller resort, you get to know other guests, as you see them every day, mostly same time, same places.. There are no long walks to get anywhere, everything is close by. The water is right in front of you the whole time. The resort never seemed crowded and there was never a wait at any of the buffets or restaurants. The bars were never crowded so never a wait for your drinks.

The staff is great... you can tell they work hard to remember you and chat with you, which makes the experience all the better. Special thanks to Kendra, who always had a compliment and a smile in the morning..she is the hostess at the buffet.. and Leighton at the pool bar, and Tray at the bar at the Bistro.. they work hard and were always smiling... and if you stay there and don't run into Willie.. you missed a treat. He'll be by the pool mostly, getting you involved in activities.. He's a hoot...good kid !!

All that being said, it really does depend on what you're looking for. If you want the ultimate in relaxation, this is it. If you want luxury, really good food, nightly shows, wide beach, daytime pool activities, go somewhere else.

This was our third visit to negril and our fourth sandals holiday. we LOVE Negril so much, the beach, the staff, it's just amazing. We chose butler for the first time and it was just brilliant, big thanks to Neisha and Myron for making our stay so memorable and enjoyable. Our turndown made, Juliet, was a real sweetheart too. The food quality has really improved since our last visit in 2009. Our favourite evening restaurant was/is the italian and out of 14 nights we ate there 6 times, our thanks to Jermaine, Darren, Nicky Z, Nicholas, Christopher, Faithlyn for everything. Also big thanks to: Chris, Donovan, Andrew, Jason, Omar, Sandra, Shawn (smiler oshawnisun), Venice, Paulton and trainee Stephen (Piano bar) for all those special drinks! Thanks too goes to Kendra, Keisha, Dwayne, O'Neill, Wadea etc and of course bubbles (for smoothies, sandwiches and all the smiles) in the bayside, and to Stacey, Davita, Tovia and trainee (sorry honey, forgot ur name) in barefoot for all the laughs (we'll try and get you that kilt next time Davita)!!! Playmakers are such a laugh, thanks to Kevan, Vanessa, Willie etc. Watersports guys Dwayne and Datani thank you for all your support whilst trying to thrash my hubby paying pool! Our warm appeciation also goes to Managers Deavon, Andre (IT), Philp and Jamiene and to Warren and Gayonne (soon come back) and last but defo not least to Andre (the GM) for his outstanding management style, visibility, accessability and genuine interest and consideration. You have a fantastic team, they and the resort in general are a real credit to you, please don't change anything!! So sorry if we've missed anyone, it wasn't intended! Can't wait to return!

Room Tip: We had a ground floor honeymoon junior suite with butler in palms building. We loved our room. Yes...
