“The Perfect Vacation!”
Reviewed 22 March 2009

My husband and I would like to recognize the entire staff of Sandals Negril Beach Resort & Spa. The staff that work at this resort are extremely friendly. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We vacationed there the second week of March and had a fabulous time! The weather was perfect (sunny and in the 80's during the day and stary nights with temperatures in the 70's during the evening). The food was amazing and the staff was superior! This will definitely be a place we will visit again. Hopefully sooner than later! Thank you!

I lived on this website before my trip, I was nervous before going because of the negative reviews..Well I will tell you, this has been my second trip staying with Sandals the first being with Sandals regency in St.Lucia and now the second being in Sandals Negril. And can't believe the service you get. The people are amazing. The minute you walk through the door we were approached by the nicest front desk man,Jaemoi Jackson. He checked up on us everyday, with a smile and A "no problem" I really have never met anyone like him. We honestly felt like celebrities when we checked in. And let me also point out we only had the basic room. The staff were all telling us whenever you need something to come find them. If your looking for A relaxing holiday then Sandals is your place. I must point out some wonderful people. From Watersports let Seymour be your man. Jolene from the tour desk, thanx for being a sport during the beach party. Vivian from the grill every ,afternoon we had to get a basket of nachos and enjoy his company. So don't be nervous about the negative reviews just remember you are on vacation and you are in Jamaica. And already have booked to come back to Negril, this time we will bring the kids to Beaches.

We spent our Honeymoon at Sandals Negril February 23rd to March 7th and absolutely LOVED IT!!! Everything was better than we expected and imagined it to be. We went there looking for a fun, yet relaxing environment and that is exactly what we got! The food was great, we ate all day and night. The best food we had at the resort was at The Sundowner, Lobster and Filet Migon. The variety of the food and drinks from restaurant to restaurant is phenomenal. The service was wonderful, if you treat the staff kindly and with respect they bend over backwards for you. The resort is spotless and they take great care in keeping it well kept. The water is so blue and calming. The beach is a bit narrow but you can walk for miles down toward the two beachs properties in the area. "you have exchange privlages at these resorts so you can grab a cold drink on your long walks!" There is so much to do on the resort and if you wanted there were so many tours to go on. Fair warning some of the tours are over an hour away driving. The entertainment was good! The staff tries so hard to please everyone. I would recommend this resort to anyone who is looking to relax in the sun with great food and cold drinks!!! We loved it and are looking to go back next March.

My wife and I arrived on property about 1PM after an 11:05AM arrival in MoBay. Evrything at the airport was handled very well with no delays. We are finally getting used to the new set up at the airport and feel they have done an excellent job with the layout and attention to arriving passengers. After arriving at the Sandals lounge and filling my thermos full of Stripe, I heard our call for Negril even though they said it would be 20 minutes. I slightly opened the Womens bathroom door to let my better half know to cut out all the primping and get on board.
Once on our way we conversed with two other couples on the bus; one couple with their 2 grown sons accompanying them to Sandals Negril. Not wanting to get to involved in the accommodations, we just kept quiet and learned later that Negril had no problem with it , using the "don't ask, don't tell", "love comes in many forms" response to inquiries.
It turned out great with the sons attending a large Carnival concert on Negril Beach during their stay. More power to em' I say, as long as there are no "couple" problems.

Upon arrival we were escorted to our room by Charlamaine...I hope I didn't ruin her name because she was so nice. We finally settled on a room which was in the Romeo and Juliet block, just upstairs without the plung pool. The room was fantastic, with a deep whirlpool tub, double raised glass sinks on the vanity, a hugh separate shower, bed that was a cloud to sleep on, separate sitting area with another 32" flat screen TV, plus a large balcony with a long comfy couch for the two of us. Naturally the room had a full bar and special spirits for our own tastes.
Our first night was during the beach party which was very good. A large selection of foods which no one could not like and flowing punch, booze, and even freshly opened coconuts so you could refresh yourself with the tasty water held inside. Afterward, there was the required fire dancer which turned out to be one of the most exciting beach shows I have ever seen.
The next morning, having read on this web site that chairs with shade come at a premium, I ventured out at 7AM and found the perfect spot under a homemade palm frond umberella which we kept occupied for the next 7 mornings. You will see in the pics that it was a perfect spot. I am an early riser.
I went out on the snorkel boat 4 times during our stay and had a blast. DT, or Double Trouble was the greatest. He was the most fun even at 10AM in the morning. If you go, wait for the boat to return to the beach and listen. When the boat backs up, he is in the background going "beep, beep. the boat is backing up". DT made the trips so much fun with his rap songs and funny banter that it was a real joy though not expected.
My wife spent every 11AM aquasize and 7:30AM power walk trying to get her points, but no one wanted to get in the cold pool, so the aerobics instructor developed a special workout for the cold at heart. We ended up with lots of points and walked away with necklacess, rum, and a pair of love birds. Our most fun with the activities was playing cricket on the Palm lawn. I couldn't bat due to a bum shoulder, but could pitch with reckless abandon and scare anyone away from hitting. Cricket is a blast and you must check it out.
During our stay we went on one tour, the Riverwalk. We thought it to be the most Jamaican experience we could have gotten without getting saddle sores. The river is beautiful with lots of cascading waterfalls, deep pools, helpful guides, and and exquisite hot lunch on the edge of the river . We both had the Escovitch fish which we thought was the best we have ever tried.
Each day on property would start with exercise, breakfast at Bayside, lounging on the beach, awsome lunch with chef prepared sandwiches and mounds of salad, followed by plates full of the best sweet treats on Seven Mile Beach.
After lunch, more veg time by the beach and maybe even a nap before heading in around 4PM for some room service snacks before our 7PM dinners.
The returning guest dinner on Tuesday night was well organized and moved along at a good pace even with over 100 returning guest in attandance. We had beef tenderloin with lobster tail. Very good food, with baked Alaska brought out on the heads of some waiters which made for an extiting finale to the evening.
We ate only at Bayside and The Sundowner so we can't comment on 4C's or Kiminos.
Bayside and Sundowner were both very good with Bayside beating out the Sundowner by having more local flavor dishes, The shrimp/lobster skewers at Bayside were the best.
The playmakers were very nice and kept getting us involved which turned out to be a treat. I even got a chance to be in a steel pan drum band.
Overall our visit was fantistic, but I would like to mention a few people there who made our visit very special. Our housekeeper Dahalia was an incredibly attentive lady what even found something I lost and never thought I would see again. She was always in the background making sure our room was good and never missed a beat. We really enjoyed working with the playmakers, especially Altheia and Sheiree. The playmakers do a really good job of getting you involved if you wish or leaving you alone too. They are great dancers, singers and skit performers who should be approached if you want to get involved. Thanks to Horace, Rory,Jeffery, and Maylene for looking out for us as our week progressed, We even walked down to Beaches Negril twice and met up with our favorite GM Carl Hendriks. Carl looks great and says he is in good health. Good for you Carl!!!!
The food was good throughout. We like Jamaican flavors and food so much and were a little disappointed that we didn't get the selection we wanted. I only found peas and rice twice while there and found the best jerk to be at the grill vs. the restaurants. The pumpkin and pepperpot soup were adjusted for tourist taste rather than the taste of someone who knew the soups. The red pea soup was great.
All we can offer is that you go with an open mind, try the native foods, accept the fact that you are on Jamaican time, :soon come", and just let the mood take you to a relaxed enjoyment like you have never experienced.
Become new lovers and forget the future....live, love, and laugh in the present.

We have stayed at every Sandals signature property. Negril is our favorite. It is not the newest or largest property, but the staff is the best. In fact, after several days in the the new Sandals in Antiqua last summer, we noticed that a small nunmber of the employees were as friendly and as much fun as those at Sandals Negril. We learned that those empolyees were all from Jamaica. The other employees were absolutely fine -just not as personable. Our recent return trip to negril was as lovely as our first. The snorkeling is actually better than on many other islands. The food is fair to good, but you do not go to an all inclusive if fine food is a must. Mackey on the dive boat is one of a kind. Jerry, one of the butlers whom we met last trip, immediately remembered ournames. Even Elliot, the painter, proved to quite a conversationalist. We are off to cayman this summer, but when we choose Sandals again, it will be Negril. Feel free to emial me about the other sandals properties.

My husband and I stayed at Sandals, Negril for a week and had probably one of the best vacations we've ever had! This was our fourth experience with Sandals, and our second time at Sandals, Negril. The rooms were beautiful-newly redone and complete with Butler service which made the experience even more amazing! The staff couldn't be more accomodating, the food incredible, the drinks amazing, the beaches and pool areas meticulously clean. We can't wait to go back!

The service was great which made our stay quite enjoyable. However, night entertainment and food were less than what we expect from a 5-star resort. For example, at the piano bar where the disco dancing was being arranged, the dance floor is irregular and only 10 ft by 10 ft. Some shows were in poor taste such as two man dancing in lady cloths.

The resort was overall clean. However we have found a n insect 3 times the size of a cacorouch in our bathroom, once alive and once dead.

The beach was sandy. However, I was twice stung by weeds in the sea.
