“Fantastic Vacation, best staff ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2014

The property was beautiful and very well maintained, The staff was soooo friendly. I had the greatest time at the various bars and the bartenders, Leggon, Misty, June and made every drink we could possible want. We fell in love with this place and will definitely be returning in the near future. The captains of the dive boat and snorkeling boat were made sure that we got to see all the different snorkeling sights and we were amazed at how many things there were to see. They really took care of us. And our maid, Nadine, made the most wonderful towel art for us every day. It was amazing to come back to the room in the afternoon and see her creations. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience. The food was great and varied, something for everyone. The beaches were immaculate, as was the entire property and I just can't say enough good things about this place and all the people. You will enjoy yourself at this resort. Absolutely everything is taken care of for you. Truly NO WORRIES!

The room was spacious, and had internet and charging stations for our phones and tables. Great air-conditioning and huge bathroom. My wife and I and two adult children stayed in on room with no problems for 11 days. Now that's saying something!

Room Tip: Spend the little extra for the concierge service, it's really worth the upgrade and will ensure...

My wife and 6-year old twin boys recently had the best vacation ever here, and can't wait to go back next year! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful (and the entertainment staff was particularly terrific). I was most impressed by all of the dining options, and each place was fantastic in its own way. In addition, all of the free inclusions (such as snorkerling, glass bottom boat rides, drinks and snack for the room) were an incredibly happy surprise. Only downside was the shuttle ride to and from the airport was about an hour and fifteen minutes, which is less than ideal, but that aside, I can't recommend this place enough for a quality, relaxing family vacation!

This was the most amazing experience. The landscape alone is enough to pull you in; then add the hospitality of the Jamaican people. It's a first class vacation, all around.

You will not find a nice beach in Jamaica. 7.5 miles of the most pristine sand the island has to offer. And the water is SO calm; no raging waves or crazy undertoe. It's just a very relaxing atmosphere!

If you are bringing children, they will not be bored. There is so much for them to do!

I wasn't overly impressed with the food (except for the buffet) but then again, we drank more than we ate...and you can't beat the drink menus! :) Don't forget to check out the WORLD FAMOUS Rick's Cafe...cliff jumping at a bar...not as dangerous as it sounds.

We are already planning our next trip.

Room Tip: Savannah Bldg is close to everything.

We returned from Beaches Negril only a day ago, and already my family can't stop talking about it and when we will return. We knew we wanted to go to an island all-inclusive resort, and I spent at least 8-10 hours searching reviews and resort websites. We ended up choosing Beaches, because through all the other resort reviews, it was the only place that appeared to guarantee that the kids would have a great time. I did not want to spend so much money and risk getting there and dealing with run down buildings, poor food, or no entertainment for the kids. So, we spent the extra, and it was the best decision I could have made!

The airport in Montego Bay was beyond full, but amazingly we made it through customs on the way in and out within an hour. They really do move at a rapid pace. (And there were 9 of us in our group!) They had someone waiting for us, who escorted us into a lounge that was beautifully furnished and cool, offering us drinks. We waited no more than 30 minutes and they were ready to take us to the resort. Our first driver, Junesy, was amazing!! He took the time to talk to us most of the 90 minute drive to the resort, pointing out important facts and sights for us to see. Then we arrived at the resort. COURTNEY greeted us and went out of his way to make us feel at home and welcome. Concierge is definitely the position for him! He helped me immediately get to one of the restaurants to feed my 3 and 4 year old, and we hadn't even checked in!
We received an upgrade on one of our rooms and it was beyond belief. The room was easily 1200 sq ft, and had a King sized bed and 2 twin sized couches. However, they pointed out to us that the couches were actually day beds and they both also had trundles underneath!! The room could have easily slept 6-7. The bathroom double vanity area was huge and accomodated 2 full size suitcases and 2 carry ons under the counter, plus there were 4 closet spaces. The bathroom and shower was also more than spacious. The furniture throughout the resort was beautiful and they did not skimp!! Everything was extremely modern and kept in great condition.

Food -
PRO: Excellent! There were 5 restaurants that you could walk up to. The food at every single one of them was excellent. We had NO complaints. The Mill offered one of the best resort American buffets I've seen with so many choices. I only seen them run out of items at the BBQ stop that runs until 3am, one time. There are 2 reservation only restaurants that were fantastic as well.
CON: There is no room service, and several of the 5 walk up restaurants have strict hours. Arizona's closed in the middle of the afternoon at 3 and had incredibly long food waits. We waited an hour one afternoon, and it was less than full. The desserts were awful!! They really need to get the cooks trained on baked goods - the croissants were flat, pies, cheese cake, etc were some of the worst I've ever tasted. The ice cream was good, and I discovered that the gift shop had candy bars to satisfy my sweet tooth, so I did just fine. Last thing - the alcohol is very watered down. They have all the right name brands in the bars, but every bottle has the lid off and when they pull out a new bottle, it is already open. Throughout all the bars, we had 2 drinks where the alcohol was actually strong. If you want to know that you go real alcohol, go for the champagne and wine.

Service
PROS - 9 times out of 10, AMAZING! Jamaica is a very poor country and I found out that jobs are extremely scarce. So, most of the staff go above and beyond to be kind and friendly to you. And although I seen on many reviews that some resorts had few employees, causing long waits, etc... I would say that Beaches seemed overstaffed at times. Everywhere you looked, there was someone available to you!!

They really had some amazing people that my family fell in love with, so I have to take the time to recognize them:
The entire entertainment staff group was amazing. They have a great group of young, outgoing men and women that you can really tell enjoy having a good time. KENTON, and the other young men and women deserve praise for the great job they did. There also had a fantastic array of entertainment every single night. DO NOT miss the STEEL DRUM BAND!! (My only suggestion is that they should move them to the Beach Night instead of the Fire breather. It would have been an amazing concert on the beach!!)

NEISHA - AMAZING!! She looks so young and tiny, but has the heart of a lion. She took my children under her wings and always looked out for them. Hugging them, singing with them, bringing them into the activities. I can't say enough of what a great job she did. She is a hidden jewel at the resort.

RAYVON - Photographer that went above and beyond to capture over 200 photos for us. Even at times, we didn't realize he was there. SOooo friendly and personable!! He even went scuba diving with us and took amazing underwater photos. Made the kids laugh and got great shots for our family portraits.

LaTonya - So personable and sweet. Again took the time to know my family and helped look out for us.

CHARLES - Scuba Instructor. Incredible!! Took the time to train my 10 year old and taught the other 5 of us in our group things that we had never learned, even though we have dove several times previously. He was soo good that we upgraded and decided to all obtain our scuba certification. He knew just when to step in and help the 2 high anxiety members of our group and thanks to him, not only did we get certified in PADI scuba diving, we dove at least 6-8 times on this trip!

AGENT 007, LARRY (SCHOOL BOY), SAMUEL - The entire team of scuba divers was incredible and made us keep wanting to come back. They were friendly, made us feel comfortable and safe, and they knew what they were doing!! It was so nice to have people actually go out of there way to talk to you and tell you things about their country and water.

SUZANN - Dining at the Mill. Excellent and friendly SIMON - Made the best omlets for us every morning and was super friendly
ADRIAN - Super cute, friendly bartender at the Big Top

I could go on and on. But, what stood out for us, as we always travel with a huge group, was the service, the food, the entertainment, and the size. Negril is the smaller of the 3 Beaches locations, but it was perfect!! It was big enough that we actually felt like there was more than enough to do and places to go, but small enough that we trusted letting our 8, 10, 14, and 17 year olds run free. Even when we couldn't immediately find someone, we knew that we would run into them within a short amount of time, or simply ask some of the staff who started to know us by name.

SUPER HAPPY WE SPENT THE EXTRA FOR BEACHES AND WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK! We are already planning a family reunion there for our extended family!

Room Tip: None of the rooms will be a bad location, as its a quick jaunt from one side of the resort to the ot...

Travelled here in March 2010. Staff here are wonderful!! Resort itself was showing signs of some needed TLC, but for an older resort, it still was terrific.Jamaica is one of the best places on earth. There was much to do for our kids and we enjoyed doing as little as possible!

I've been to Jamaica many times and Negril is my favorite part of the island. We had 7 family members including my 6 year old granddaughter and 8 year old grandson. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beaches Negril. From the water park to the water sports including scuba, there was something for everyone. The resort is beautiful and laid back. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed Stewfish, the thatch roofed open restaurant located right on the beach. We upgraded to the concierge level which I would recommend.
In Jamaica they greet you with" Welcome home". I'm definitely looking forward to going home again soon.

we have traveled there with 5 kids thinking that we will be able to enjoy free time without the kids because they have amazing kids club and activities. it wasn't the case. the staff at the club were nice and attentive. the facility is clean and spacious. at the front desk felicia was very helpful and super nice, everyone at the resort was super nice!!! shelley, the cleaning lady was super efficient and nice, smiling and always attentive to our needs. our room was kept clean and stocked with the things we wanted and requested.
we are a kosher family and the executive chef Evan Lee, and chef ralston and chef Glen were amazing! they cooked for us every night in specific pots and pans and went out of their way to accommodate us in everything we asked.
