We are a well travelled family never having been to a resort twice. However, our two teenage children are keen to return back next year because of the brilliant time they had. The beach and water is perfectly clear and warm. The resort overall was extremely clean and well kept with some amazing staff looking after your every need. In particular we enjoyed our breakfast with Diandra, Arica and Suzan who were genuinely warm and friendly despite all the hard work they clearly do. We also wanted to give a special mention to Jodiann and Brandon (the trainee) beach staff for being so caring, attentive and fun. We will really miss them!
I also was surprised that so much of the water sports was included which was great as my daughter tried water skiing for the first time. However, I didn't like the grading of the service on the beach i.e. having to pay a lot extra for a cabana and/or a butler service - very American!
If I was being overly fussy, I did find the food in Kimono's greasy and it was much too loud although fun. The food generally was ok but not amazing as a lot of the dishes seemed very much the same but I don't think Jamaica is renowned for its cuisine.
The room was adequate but for two teenage children was a little on the small side and definitely not enough drawer space or shelving for all our clothes but then we were trying to avoid paying out for adjoining rooms which would have made the holiday too pricey.
We went on a few tours which were very expensive for what you got (in particular Dolphin Cove - I didn't want to swim with the dolphins but just watch my daughter but the entrance price was $50 just to go in and watch).
We used a local taxi driver for US $10 each way for all four of us to visit Rick's Cafe instead of the hotel service which was US $20 per head so well worth doing that instead.
Despite my comments, which are designed to be helpful to other visitors, our overall holiday experience at Beaches was 5 star and we will definitely return.

We just returned from a 7 night trip with our 13 and 17 year old children, celebrating our 25th anniversary and renewing our vows. We had an amazing time and the staff at this resort really made our experience a memorable one.

Rooms - our standard double bed room in the Savanah building was adequate and the Savanah building is a nice proximity to most everything. Rooms cleaned 2x a day.

Beach - beautiful sand with warm, clear turquoise water and small rolling waves; you won't need water shoes here to go in the water and you'll see some smalle fish over the seagrass patches further out. Tip: get your beach towels early the first day and keep them in your room...they are hard to get each morning unless you are up very early. Just Frebreeze them each day and you'll be fine! You will very frequently be solicited by the locals but the security keeps them mostly at bay. We did have 1 child swim out to us and ask for lunch money but that only happened once. And when you are in the water, the boats go right along the swimming area asking you to go parasailing. A simple 'no thank you' was enough to keep them moving but you'll say it a lot! Try the beach area to the left of Dino's Pizzeria...it's less busy and cabanas #8, #9, and #10 are in that nice location. Great shout out to Damion who was our cabana server on our last day....he rocks!

Water Activities - our family enjoyed the paddleboarding, water trikes, canoes, bananna boat, and snorkel trips. Our kids loved riding in the big tube pulled by a speed boat...tubing at it's best! Sign up for the snorkel trips a day before. We didn't do the glass bottom boat or the small sailboats. All of this was included.

Food -typical resort fare but I'm a picky eater and was able to find things. One surprise was all but 2 of the restaurants are open air and it was HOT so be prepared. The Japanese and Italian resturants are A/C but you need reservations. Great shout out to Lesmond at Dino's Pizzeria and Venecia at Arizona's...both were awesome and great people!

Drinks - they don't skimp on the liquor and it's always served with a smile and good conversation. You have to look up O'Neill at the pool bar by Dino's...he's hilarious and great fun!

Entertaiment - Huge shout out to O'Shane and the entire entertainment crew! Those ladies and gentlemen do a wonderful job offering enteratinment and getting the crowd involved in the shows. Plus they are very genuine and fun people to hang out with. We will truly miss chatting with them and having fun. Check out the nightly shows and be sure to go to the show the night they have the steel drum band and the fire show...you'll be glad you did.

Re-tie the Knot -Our sincere thanks and appreciation to Tesch and Rosario in the Weddings department who helped make our vow renewal on our 25th anniversary very special. Our kids were able to be included, we did a nice sand ceremony where we each picked a color of sand and poured it into a glass jar as a keepsake. You can decline the full picture albumn and go with 12 pictures on CD as a memory of the event even though that option wasn't offered when we originally booked the ceremony. We got a little reception complete with champagne, snacks and cake plus dinner that night and breakfast in bed the next morning. Tesch and Rosario were the absolute best and we appreciate how special they made us feel.

Sandals Foundation - One night we had a auction to benefit the Sandals Foundation which reinvests into the community in all the locations of the Sandals/Beaches resorts. Please plan to bring a little extra to participate in this auction. Anyone able to afford to stay at Beaches/Sandals is blessed and this is a small way to share that blessing with others in the area you visit. The items are not expense (starting bids were $20-$100). We picked up a cabana for a day and a trip to Margaritaville with a cabana and food voucher included.

Tweens/Teens - our kids were always busy, met some new international friends, and really enjoyed themselves. We never went off resort expect a brief morning excursion to Margaritaville and the kids were always having fun. Between the dance club they use by themselves some each night, the teen hang out room, the ping pong, pool tables, water sports, pool volleyball, shuffleboard, life size chess, putt putt, basketball, xbox room, and game room, we had to drag them back to the room late at night.

To sum it up, a wonderful trip with lots of great memories. I would recommend this to families of tweens/teens. Adults and the kids will have a great time!

Room Tip: Savannah building is somewhat centrally located and our double room was adequate. We had a view toward the garden but really, you aren't in the room that much so it wasn't worth it for us to pay the extra for beachfront. 3rd floor of the Savannah building was quiet.

This place was amazing! Our family of four included two teenagers who had a ball. The drinking age is 18 so older kids can enjoy some yummy frozen drinks while chillin' at the beach! The all-inclusive water sports included diving! What a deal! It also included other motorized water sports like skiing and wakeboarding! We did it all! The food was great, too! You could sit down and eat or grab some jerk chicken at the barbeque. But the real special treat was the friendly staff. Ya mon! They made sure every moment of your vacation was special! PS the gym was great too! There were two . . . one with weights and one with machines . . . right next to each other. I could go on and on but you get what I am saying! Great family place with beautiful view of the ocean! One last thing . . . my family normally rents a car at each island to explore but there was sooo much to do at our own beach that we never left our resort (except on our morning jogs). We went in June and the weather was great (one morning of rain). Great place for making family memories!

My family and I recently went on vacation here in Jamaica and it was without a doubt the best vacation I have been on so far. I was able to bring my best friend and being two 18 year old girls it was the most fun I have ever had. Whether it was the entertainment staff or the bartenders the people here always made us feel wanted and special. Alton who goes on the snorkeling outings would go out of his way to help us find sea treasures and make our time underwater so enjoyable. More specifically I would like to say that O'Brian, O'shane, both Jermaines, Shaneka and Kenton all made our trip extremely memorable. They would even come talk to us off the clock and always keep us entertained. Shelly is also an amazing singer so I recommend everyone to go here her sing! I would say this resort is perfect for any family who have adventurous kids and like to experience different cultures. I cannot wait to visit this wonderful place again.

Room Tip: I would suggest not getting a room that is below Concierge level. The service is still good but it is more carefree and enjoyable if you have a higher level room.

Very beautiful resort, with nice grounds and beautiful beach. Lots of amenities included (like snorkeling etc.). Staff were very good overall.

The food was disappointing, considering the price you pay for this resort. The venetian was poor and the japanese restaurant, nice experience, but below food court quality food (oily/greasy etc.). Buffett was what you would get anywhere else too.

Would love to go back, if the food experience was better for the price.
