“Take your safe key every where!!!!!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 November 2010

Jamaica is beautiful and I would go back but not to this resort. We stayed here for 9 days and got robbed of $190 over the 9 days. We reported it and nothing was done. We had locked our wallets in the room safe and then put the key in my purse, put my purse in my suitcase and put clothes in on top of it all. If you are staying in this resort make sure you take your safe key with you where ever you go!!!!

We stayed at Beaches Negril from Oct. 20-Oct 23rd. I had read the reviews almost every week before our trip about 3 weeks prior and I have to admit I was nervous. I was most nervous about the weather because I found out October is their raining season, but also reviews on the service were horrible, so that made me a little nervous too. I must say we had a great time. We traveled with our 2 yr old who absolutely loves Sesame St. and the Sesame St. activities were great. I will go ahead and say that it was not perfect. There was a weird smell always in the bathroom that I couldn't mask with Lysol. There also must have been another resort on the other side of ours and we had the rooms that were on the far end of the resort, so when we would retire for the night we were kept up by very loud music almost every night(must have been a couples/party resort?). It was hard to drown it out because the bathroom's small window has an open vent and a screen that you can't close, so you easily hear all outside noise. I'm sure there is a reason for this. We didn't necessarily like that the restaraunts were only open for dinner and not for lunch. So we had to wait until 530 to eat at these places. However the pizza at the Cafe Carnival was awesome. My son and I ate pizza pretty much everyday for lunch. The drinks were AWESOME not watered down and very plentiful. The food was really good. The entertainment at Kimonos restaruant was awesome along with the food. My son and husband loved the Xbox gameroom. The beach is beautiful. The people are so friendly and nice. The pools are great! There is always something to do. We love Sesame St. as much as our son, so we enjoyed seeing the characters as much as all the kids. So, all in all it was great. The weather worked out. The first day it rained and I was kind of bummed out, and it rained all night and in the tropics that makes the humidity unbearable; however the weather got better and better each day..by day two it was overcast which worked because the sun wasn't shining as bright...the 3rd day it was partly cloudy-still good sun not beaming and the day we left the sun was beaming and it was HOT, but the weather was starting to get bad because of a hurricane so it was a good time to leave. So the weather wasn't an issue like I thought. The shuttle ride there seemed like two hours. Idefinitely didn't really like that, but it was raining and there was local traffic so that made it longer. On the way back it was beautiful out with no traffic so it took about an hr and 15 minutes. The view is interesting on the way there and back, you really get to see how Jamaicans live. It makes you appreciate what you have. So anyway, go... have a good time. You won't regret it. We look forward to going to Turks and Caicos next time!!!

we had a great time at Beaches, Negril during the first week of November 2010. we travelled with our 3 sons, ages 10, 14, and 17, and three other families with children between the ages 8 and 18. The resort is beautiful, the food is really good and the weather was great, despite the threat of Tomas the entire week. Tomas didn't materialize into anything that threatened the vacation, but the winds stirred up and make great waves, which not something you see in Negril very often. This was our second stay at Beaches Negril and we are already booked for a third next year. From the moment you arrive, the staff takes over and cares for all your needs. The wonderful bellman won't even allow you to touch your own luggage, it remains curbside and is brought to your room after you have checked in. They never forget anything, and all your luggage will be there waiting for you when you get to your room. I recommend bringing a bathing suit in your carry-on, so that you don't have to get one from you luggage, as sometimes, you get to the hotel wellbefore check in and there is realy no need to wait for your room before you hit the beach. We stayed in a concierge level beach front suite, which is really lovely and big enough for our family of 5. There is a king (or two queens) and a full pull out bed, and they will bring in a cot if you want one. They knew from our last visit that we required a cot, and one was already in our room when we got there. The concierge staff was excellent, especially Lucine. (Rich sends his love). They will take care of everything from your room to your spa reservations and they do it all with a smile. The entertainment staff is outstanding and I have to give kudos to Natasha, Damien, Jermaine, Monifa, Rashana, Demar, Kenroy, and entertainment manager, Mona Lisa. And, Jevan, of course... you need to be entertainment full time! They had things planned all day including volleyball, games, trivia, dance parties and it just gets better at night. I recommend you get involved with the entertainment staff at the very beginning and you will never have a dull moment. They kept our teenagers busy the entire time. The even have teen dinners, which my kids never missed. The bar staff is also fabulous, Clau, Terrance (missed that hug!) Olando, Opal, Damien. They make the best drinks and will even remember your favorites!. The watersports staff is also great. Roquiche, Alshaine, Rose, Damian, they take care poolside and in the water sports area and always on top of everything. The pool and beach areas are kept spotless. There are roming photographers who take great candids of all of the activities and also the sunset photos, which I highly recommend. Collin did a great job for us. The resort will give a copyright release when you purchase the photos so you can use them to your heart's content when you get home. If you enjoy your stay, you can book with the SOon Come Back desk, see Andrae or Annakay and they will be make your next visit even better than your first.

We (my husband, 14 month-old son, and 2 grandmas) just stayed at Beaches Negril and had a great time! I highly recommend this resort to any family looking for a great vacation. Regardless of ages, there's something for everyone at Beaches. From the moment you arrive til the moment you leave, you are treated like royalty. The staff is always smiling and wants to do whatever they can to make your experience better! We had two rooms that had a connecting door, which was great for my son to have ample room to crawl around. Our rooms had balconies that faced the ocean, which was nice to step out on to and hear the waves crashing on the shore. We also had "front-row" seats (via our balconies) to the wedding gazebo, we got to witness so many weddings throughout the week. Overall, we had an awesome experience and will definitely go back in the future!!!

The staff was great. We had beautiful weather. The only thing that I would change would be how they operate the water activities.

We were a little nervous booking here because the reviews were not always perfect, but we're so, SO glad we booked our wedding here.

There were 20 people in our group, with only one small child (1 year old) and we had a fantastic time! There were tons of things to do for everyone, from the lazy river (which had a nice current going in it!) to slides(which were surprisingly fun) to Sesame Street activities for my nephew. He loved the shows & would dance with the characters even though he wasn't really familiar with the show. It's a great resort for everyone.

The rooms were very clean, tidy, and nicely decorated. Yes, they're not prefect - you're in the Caribbean, where there are bugs, storms, and humidity. Every teeny issue we had was fixed immediately. Our shower stopped working the day of the wedding, but they had it fixed in 20 minutes flat. We were really impressed with this.

If you tend to get bit, bring lots of bug spray. This is obviously not the resort's fault, there are bugs in the Caribbean. We didn't see one bug in the room though - no issues there.

The food was better than expected - the buffets were pretty good, lots of variety, and the restaurants were pretty tasty too. We ate ate the Japanese Steakhouse, the Tex-Mex spot by the pool, the snack place by the pool, and the Italian restaurant. All good. There was jerk chicken on the beach twice while we were there, and it was very, very good. Don't miss it.

The swim up bars were fantastic, the staff was really fun. They gladly get you whatever you want, with a smile.

Our experience with the wedding - excellent. We had a tropical storm come in the day before the wedding, & we were pretty upset. But we watched two weddings from our balcony, that were under a tiki hut in the sand despite the rain, and they were beautiful. The staff knew exactly how to handle it. We got extremely lucky & it didn't rain the next day, & we had a great wedding. Really smooth, easy, fun. We did a short cocktail hour/reception on the beach, & then went to dinner afterward. It was perfect. If you have any questions about the wedding, feel free to email me. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. (Plus we got to jet ski the day of our wedding - how fun is that??)

This place was much, much nicer in person than I thought it would be from the pictures. We had a wonderful time.
