“There is only one Jamaica, and that's what it's like.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 October 2009

There is only one Jamaica. I have been there three times now, once to Montego Bay and twice to Negril. All three times to a different Hotel. Sometimes it takes going on a trip far from home to find out who you really are. I think the people at Legends went out of their way to make me as comfortable as they could, and I appreciate that. So if some one asks me if I would go back I would say yes, even though I probably won't visit that part of the world for a while.

My advice:
-If this is your first time out side the USA go to Sandals.
-The snorkeling is good. Legends has a couple of guys on the beach running the water sport activities. They charge 25us per person which is preity good. you can go snorkeling in front of the sister resort for free.
-There is a free shuttle between the two Hotels, but if you don't feel like staying all day you can get a Taxi for 300 Jamaican or less if you are firm.
-You can walk to town in 20 minutes. There is a 24hr atm bank there ( Scotiabank ) and a Burger King.
-Bring your own Beach towels.
-Bring your own bug spray.

just terrible... the day we checked in we were shocked by the homemade beds 1 double mattress over a 8foot wooden base, making it impossible to enter the bed from either side. A family of cockroaches were living in our bathroom. The lights in our room blew but were repaired the next day. We found most of the staff friendly, but a few were rude and could barely raise a smile, in the end we felt unconfertable going into the resteraunt.

After one week we left and paid an extra $10 dollars a day to go to the sister hotel Samsara.

When we asked to be moved from the hotel we were not even questioned why we wanted to leave and we were the third couple to move hotels that week

we do have photos of room and roaches and will post on return to uk

We were over visiting relatives with our two small children. The people at Legends made this very special trip all the more so. They made us feel exceptionally welcome and they spoilt our two children no end. We will definitely go back to this hotel when visiting our relatives again

Me and my boyfriend went to Legends in august and we couldn't be more pleased about this hotel. It's not a 5 star hotel, it's basic. Nevertheless Legends has a great location, a great beach and there are stores and restaurants nearby. We have never met a staff that is so kind to you and Paul the hotel manager is the nicest manager you've met in this business. We also think it's a great service that someone helps you to cross-over when your room is on the other side of the road.
Legends is definitely worth going to when you don't want to spent a lot of money and want to experience the Jamaican way of life in Negril. We experienced the best holiday we ever had!!!

The only thing that saved this hotel is the location. The beach is an important factor and that it all that this hotel had to offer. Here are my complaints regarding my recent trip to Negril, Jamaica.
1. Day one our room accomdations were changed from one room with two beds/garden view to a room with one bed/ocean view. They felt it was an upgrade because we could see the beach. That's not what we reserved nor is it what we wanted. Basically they were unable to accomodate us with what we reserved so they gave us what they had. Call it what it is.
2. We planned to go out and needed an iron. We called the front desk and had to sign an iron out which we were restricted to put water in because of scotchtaped sign indicating no water. Did I mention that the iron cord was also taped up which made me very hesitant to use it. Later I realized that they only had minimal irons because they came to our room to get the iron before we could return it and sign in back in. Craziness!

3. We let the first few things go but this one really pissed me off. I'm in the shower all soaped up when all of a sudden no water. WTF??????? What the heck just happened? Yes. there was no water. After 5 minutes shivering cold I had to get out to call the front desk who exclaimed that "Oh the water would return in about ten minutes." They could have slid a note under the door stating that the water would be off temporarily. The water did return but I had to wait another few minutes for the water to get hot.

4. Another night we are getting ready to go out when oops.. no light in the bathroom. Then someone comes up to make the repair only to cause further damage. And nothing could be fixed until the next day.

5. I wasn't sure if I was going to make this number 2, 3, 4 but it didn't work to begin with. Our TV did not work from day one. I like watching TV but local channels and I didn't have that luxury. There was a repair man who claimed he fixed it by moving it and bringing it back with a different tint but no picture.

6. I complained onsite and none of my issues or concerns were resolved. So I would not recommend this hotel. We never even ate there because everything else was poor so we ate next door at Kuyaba's which was excellent maybe we will stay there next time.
