Yes, I agree - we've all seen the same tourist trinkets on sale elsewhere.....however......at Rutland Point, there's this guy who goes by the name of Roger..... and he actually does carve wood, right in front of you.
He doesn't advertise it, but he'll pick you the best coconut, right off the tree, that you've ever had. He picks it, lops the top off, gives you a straw to drink the milk and when you're done, he'll split it into two so you can eat it.
Now.... you can eat that and leave but he's well worth spending more time with; Roger's a well-respected really helpful sort and you'll get no hassle from his fellow vendors. In fact, as time passes and you might've drunk some rum or whatever takes your fancy, you'll get to meet them all as they call by and it's a joy to listen to the stories and tales!
After a "hard night" it's a great way to pass a morning!
