Fantastic place to visit, if you want to be close to the beach but far away from the evening noice. This resort offers you the best of both worlds, cliffs plus beach. They provide a shuttle to the beach for your great day events and in the evening you have the "best" spot to watch the sunset. The rooms are simple, food is simple, service is "great" and its clean! They great staff, been here two years in a row. Plus they have a great pizza place across the street if you need a change.

We went there in early October 2013 for 7 days on our honeymoon. We had a generally negative view of Jamaica in general and the hotel was no exception. In retrospect I would have booked a nicer place for our honeymoon. There was lots of shoulder shrugging from the hotel staff when things went wrong.

no power outlets in bathroom
pulling teeth to get towels, they only give you one a day and even though your on the beach or you may be taking 2 showers a day with all the activities.

Internet died after first day $36/week $12/day. Hotel claims no responsibility for internet and they claimed they had no idea where it came from so they could not call for repair.

food is not very good. You are offered 4 choices buffet style for breakfast 8-10am, lunch 12-2pm and dinner 7-9pm. It is low quality food and the same nearly every day.

The hotel extends across the street but the restraunt across street is not included in all inclusive and they don' tell you that until you get a huge dinner bill.

TV issue, remote didn't work. Maintenance man suggests I just get up and press the buttons on the TV. I had to firmly request a new TV which they reluctantly replaced. old 19" CRT by the way.

The bed was huge but hard as a rock.

We woke up in the middle of the night covered in ants. We called the front desk and the next morning they sent a lady with a can of RAID. We had to use our bug spray and towels that night to stomp them out. Otherwise they just shrugged their shoulders.

Sunday dinner was nice. better food selection, outdoor dining and budget live music
location is very private. no husslers, very peaceful

This resort was very nice and quiet. It didn't have some of the bells and whistles you get from other resorts, but the staff was very nice, the rooms were very clean, the food was good, and the view is amazing. It's a great place to just relax and spend time with you loved ones.

A 5 star view of the sea. Great location. An all inclusive vacation property which has the Jamaican population just outside its doors. Great location. My wife and I wanted the comfort of an all inclusive vacation property, but the opportunity to mix with the Jamaican people during the day.
We wanted an all inclusive property that was located so we could leave during the day and interact with the Jamaicans. Samsara was exactly that. We did not take the meal/drink package. We met a cab driver, Clover Walker known as "Congo". He gave us his cell number and he was our personal tour guide every day of the trip. He determined we were Christians and even invited us to attend Sunday church service with him. We did and the experience was priceless. We told him we wanted to eat at Jamaican restaurants that served the local population. He took us to several great roadside restaurants that he ate at. The food was excellent. I looked around for good food practices before ordering and they followed them. This was basically because all fruits and veggies were truly fresh and meats refrigerated. Most dishes took 30 mins to 1 hour to prepare as they cook to order. Nothing prepared in advance. Best American breakfast, omelet at the hotel, omelet lady excellent cook. Best Jamaican breakfast, Pressa/One Love, a Jamaican roadside restaurant just outside the front doors of the hotel about 200 feet to the left of the hotel. Best Jamaican dinner restaurant, 3-Dives, seats about 65 people at outside picnic tables. Caribbean lobster, curry goat and jerk chicken and lobster. 2nd to none. Samsara shares a sister relationship with Legends Hotel on the white sand beach so you can do the cliffs at Samsara or sand beach at Legends daily. Patricia at the front desk excellent service. Samsara does not advertise evening activities. Ask what is going on each evening as entertainment is not every evening. Some complained of mosquitoes, we did not experience any. Recommend you stay on sea side of property, not Samsara's rooms across the street, pay extra for air conditioner and do not get all inclusive if you expect 24-7 gourmet meals.

Room Tip: Request ocean side rooms as they have rooms across the street from the sea, pay for air conditioner.

Just spent jan 2 - 9 with my 22 yr old son at Samsara. the best part was missing the -30 temps that week back in Peterborough and tied for best part was staying in the West End in the Cliffs of Negril. I wouldn't recommend it for families of small children due to the danger factor I suppose but for kids 10+ who love jumping and are pretty good swimmers it is great fun. We loved the Samsara and stayed in a cottage across the street from the ocean. That part was a bit of a surprise but I suppose we got what we paid for. The room was very nice with a king and a double bed and a ceiling fan to cool (which felt nice and more tropical than sealed up in central air conditioning). We can't comment on the meal plan as we ate locally every day. There are lots of little restaurants to experience so that's how we did it. The road is narrow and fast so if cars driving fast past you as you walk along side the road scares you, you may be taking taxis instead of walking as we did. You could walk to the beach in about 30 minutes although samsara provides a free shuttle - which is a perfect way to spend a few days at the beach. You could also walk to Rick's Café and make stops along the way for a drink at restaurants and small cliff-side resorts. It was also about a 30 minute walk.

Samsara was clean, friendly, and relaxing after a day at the beach. It's a large property with a few dive/jump areas, and to nice clean swimming pools. I would go back next time and stay in one of the cabins on stilts overlooking the beautiful sunsets!

4 years ago I came to Negril for the first time and stayed at the Legends beach resort. Since then I have been back every year and this past trip marked my 3rd stay at Samsara. I haven't bothered to try anywhere else! Between the comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and stunning Cliffside sunsets, Samsara has everything you need for a perfect Jamaican vacation. If you get tired of the cliff jumping and snorkeling, a free shuttle bus will take you to Legends beach resort for a fun filled beach day. I can't say enough about this hotel. I have enjoyed each and every stay here. Feels like a second home! Look no further, save yourself the time and hassle, just stay here.

I just can't stay away! This was my third trip to Samsara and it was as lovely as ever. There's no better way to start your day than with a cup of the hotel's delicious blue mountain coffee overlooking the Caribbean sea. The main priority of my trip was to get my tan on, so everyday my friends and I set up camp in the loungechairs, grabbed a pineapple daquiri, and chillllled. The resort's beachside property--Legends--is only a 5 minute drive away, so when we needed to get some sand in our toes we headed over there. The hotel is run by an awesome family who, along with the staff, were incredibly accommodating with whatever we needed and knew all the best spots to hang out. Since Samsara is in the center of Negril we found it easy to take afternoon trips around town--usually to another beach or restaurant--and then head back in time to jump off the cliffs at sunset. For new years we ate dinner at the hotel-owned restaurant Catch a Falling Star. I stuck to Jerk chicken everywhere I went, but my friend's rasta pasta looked delicious. All in all it was a great trip! Can't wait to head back!!

Room Tip: The rooms are all nice but the birdhouses with the hammocks are super-cute and have a view of the oc...
