First of all: we're quickly satisfied. We travel on a low budget, so please don't take note of this if you're looking for great luxury. Our first evening there was a bit chaotic. It took a long time to check in, the food that night was not quite what we're used to (we're both picky eaters, but we shouldn't complain when we're 8000km away from home), the swimmingpool is really supertiny (au contraire to the picture on the site), you can't walk into the water, you'll have to jump from the cliffs (which aren't that high, we knew this before we booked this hotel, but i'm afraid of deep open water, so i spend my entire week in the pool), ... We booked a gardenside cottage, which was awesome! Tiny, mini bathroom, but a porch with a gorgeous view, and trust me, you won't be spending a lot of time inside (except at noon, around 2pm it starts raining uncontrollably, sometimes our porch would literally flood).

The first morning we woke up around 4am (jetlag!). We went outside (we're two years further now, and i still get goosebumps whenever i think about it). There were hummingbirds everywhere! At this hour it's also lovely outside (temperature).

But I can babble about how beautifull everything around here is for ever! So: the bar is nice, a lot of cocktails (included in all in), a lot of rum, had some great times there at night. Food became better after day 1, i'm still craving Jamaican Dumplings every day (i should learn how to make them), the hotel itself is simple, but you don't need anything else when you're in such a great country. Rick's cafe (worldfamous) is a 5 minute drive away from the hotel (don't try to go on foot, there's too many people who try to sell you stuff on your way ;) ).

I love Jamaica, would go back if i had the money :) Lovely people!

Room Tip: The gardenside cottages/the houses on those poles are way nicer than the hotel!

Samsara on the cliffs was a great hotel and the staff were also very friendly! If you don't know how to swim (like me) the cliffs is not for you. We spent most of our time at the beach when I wasn't visiting family. Legends hotel which is Samsara's other hotel I guess, so the all inclusive worked at both hotels so that was awesome. I would recommend this hotel for anyone interested.

I thought this resort was fantastic. You could not ask for a better sunset location. Resort is quiet so you can get all the rest you need!! If you want the excitement you can go down the street for a $5.00 cab ride and have the loud disco style spot. We had to wait 3 days to cliff dive & snorkel due to high tides at the time of our visit. So we just chose to go to the beach!! Negril Beach offers the wonderful blue water and sunshine. If you want to avoid the vendors soliciting you walk to the end of the beach (towards the round about) and have lunch at the locals and they will gladly give you a lounger and supply you all day long with drinks (cheap) and no vendors bothering you. They like to visit where the hotels/tourists are. We did not do the all inclusive and do not regret it for a minute. Went to 3 Dives for the best Jerk Chicken, Chicken Lavish for some delightful fried chicken, Pablos & Peewees for breakfast and what used to be Choices which is now Press up One Love (I think) and of course the yummy pizza and other dinner offerings at Ciao right across the street along with eating from the menu at the resort. Don't pay anymore than $5.00 to go anywhere - offer your payment when you get in the taxi so no misunderstandings. I recommend you ALWAYS have non slip sandles on at this resort as if it rains or water is on the floor it is ceramic tiles everywhere and we did see a few with some injuries caused by slip and falls. Just be wary and don't go barefoot and you will be fine!! I really enjoyed our visit to Negril and hope to be back again soon!!!

Room Tip: Upgrate to the Superior Ocean View - you want airconditioning!!

Fantastic place to visit, if you want to be close to the beach but far away from the evening noice. This resort offers you the best of both worlds, cliffs plus beach. They provide a shuttle to the beach for your great day events and in the evening you have the "best" spot to watch the sunset. The rooms are simple, food is simple, service is "great" and its clean! They great staff, been here two years in a row. Plus they have a great pizza place across the street if you need a change.

We went there in early October 2013 for 7 days on our honeymoon. We had a generally negative view of Jamaica in general and the hotel was no exception. In retrospect I would have booked a nicer place for our honeymoon. There was lots of shoulder shrugging from the hotel staff when things went wrong.

no power outlets in bathroom
pulling teeth to get towels, they only give you one a day and even though your on the beach or you may be taking 2 showers a day with all the activities.

Internet died after first day $36/week $12/day. Hotel claims no responsibility for internet and they claimed they had no idea where it came from so they could not call for repair.

food is not very good. You are offered 4 choices buffet style for breakfast 8-10am, lunch 12-2pm and dinner 7-9pm. It is low quality food and the same nearly every day.

The hotel extends across the street but the restraunt across street is not included in all inclusive and they don' tell you that until you get a huge dinner bill.

TV issue, remote didn't work. Maintenance man suggests I just get up and press the buttons on the TV. I had to firmly request a new TV which they reluctantly replaced. old 19" CRT by the way.

The bed was huge but hard as a rock.

We woke up in the middle of the night covered in ants. We called the front desk and the next morning they sent a lady with a can of RAID. We had to use our bug spray and towels that night to stomp them out. Otherwise they just shrugged their shoulders.

Sunday dinner was nice. better food selection, outdoor dining and budget live music
location is very private. no husslers, very peaceful

This resort was very nice and quiet. It didn't have some of the bells and whistles you get from other resorts, but the staff was very nice, the rooms were very clean, the food was good, and the view is amazing. It's a great place to just relax and spend time with you loved ones.
