My husband and I would love to keep this place to ourselves, but the Nirvana experience was too spectacular not to share. We stayed in the Owners Villa which was well stocked with every amenity possible to make your stay there feel like home. If you didn't have something in the house, the staff was more than gracious to assist...Their saying was, "from a nickle to a nail, no worries..." Their fabulous staff was available 24 hours to assist you with anything you might need. The house was cleaned quickly and well as you lounged on the beach. The meal that the ladies made us was delicious. I regret only requesting one meal during our stay. There was so many restaurants and bars within walking distance, we were able to try a variety of local fare. After only one day in Nirvana, we became very grateful for our choice in accommodations. People stopped regularly to take picture and admire Nirvana's stretch of beach. We also had top notch security. Ehrol and Shine were always on guard to detour the vendors and lend advise on which vendors to trust. There was security 24/7, but they were never intrusive. Both guys were genuinely nice and courteous. Ehrol would even set out our lounge chairs every morning, and Shine shared Aloe from his garden for my husband's sun burn. Sandra greeted us every morning and made sure that all of our needs were met. She was really a pleasant to chat with about just about anything Jamaican. The whole staff's meticulous care for the grounds showed me that they considered Nirvana their home. During our stay, they opened their home to us and made us feel like family. I very much look forward to bringing my friends and family back to Nirvana.

Nirvana takes great pride that we are so well-maintained, clean and served by a friendly,
helpful staff who will take care of everything for you.

If you are expecting a luxurious resort, this is not the place to come.

However, if you want an unpretentious beachfront paradise, this is it!

Nirvana is a unique property, the last great authentic Jamaican vacation rental experience on Negril Beach... with only 13 rentals on our 2 acre property in the CENTER of Negril beach.

We know you come to Negril for the BEACH life & to meet the colorful local people who make it such a special spot.

Whenever you want to return & we all have a warm welcome waiting for you.

Stayed at Nirvana Dec /12. If you are looking for gourmet, traditional all inclusive, Nirvana is a no. But if you are looking for rustic but clean n comfy, incredible staff, magnificent sunsets, good home cookin, awesome beach, privacy and most of all relaxing, then Nirvana is what you are looking for.

Room Tip: Family of 4, owners villa, cottage 2or3. Beachfront studios are nice for a couple.

This was our 6th visit to Nirvana and each year I say I will write the review as soon as we get home and that should have been about five months ago.
We were here for two weeks in April and it was like coming home as we stay in the same cottage every year. I cannot say enough about the staff who are all so friendly, helpful and work so hard to make your stay enjoyable. Zemroy who now manages the property and seems to have everybody on board, Sandra who is public relations and if there is anything you need she will get it, security- Erol, Shine(glad you are back), Patrick, Rojan and Kevin make sure everyone is secure and chairs are put out for you in the morning, gardeners- Moses, Moses and Otis who keep the grounds and beach immaculate, and the cleaning staff Lynn, Joyce, Leoni and Joan who make sure your accomodations are cleaned each day and also will cook meals for you if you stay in one of the cottages, you provide the food and they are great cooks.
We met some great people again this year.
The property is small and does not have a restaurant but restaurants are up and down the beach and the grocery store is a short ride away to purchase food if you wish to cook in. Also there are vendors along the beach every day with fruit(Chordis), juice(Flex), meat patties & cocoa bread(Norman), banana bread and more.
It is like one big family here and we had another great trip but the two weeks went by so quick and it was time to leave again only to start counting the days when we will make the trip again, I hope.

We spent a week at Nirvana as part of our son's wedding party. I can't say enough about our experience.

Nirvana is a small property, and does not have swimming pools and fitness rooms and tennis courts nor a golf course --ideal for a relaxing vacation with family and friends.

The property has very nice accommodations (ours was a one bedroom apartment with eat-in kitchen and screened porch). And air conditioning, which I recommend for July.

The staff was superb, keeping the cottages and apartments spotless and the grounds immaculate. They were always ready with advice and suggestions and directions.

The staff also cooked one meal a day for all of us (about a dozen folks) using food we provided. We found fish at the local outdoor fish market (cleaned while you watch) and lobster from a fisherman who kept his plastic kayak (!) right there.

Gorceries and other amenities were readily available in the town of Negril (we had a van, which made shopping easy, but regular cabs and gypsy cabs are always cruising the road).

Our private beach was lovely, and Nirvana provided round-the-clock security on the beach and throughout the complex.

We were within three minutes walk -- along the beach -- of several good restaurants when we felt like eating out. Vendors of meat and fish patties, juice, fruit, cooked lobster, hats, and music went up and down the beach. (And could not come up from the water's edge without being invited.)

The only fly in the ointment was the presence of an outdoor concert venue just up the beach, which featured full-blast music until 3 AM. (This made A/C very handy, as we could close up our apartment. Cottage dwellers just had to get used to it.) Of course, the nearby venue did provide amusement for the younger folks.

We made three excursions from Nirvana, one arranged by the property -- a snorkeling, cliff diving, dinner at sea catamaran cruise.

What really sums up our experience was when the only rain storm of the week descended on us about 30 minutes before the beach wedding. One of our number nimbly arranged for us to use a pavilion next door for the ceremony, and the Nirvana staff turned to with umbrellas to escort the wedding party through the tropical downpour to the pavilion. After the ceremony, the sun shone....

Room Tip: A couple of the buildings front on the beach, with outside porches for the downstairs units. Worth...

Rating Niravana as the top 10 places to stay in Negril is unacceptable. Nirvana should not be classified as a Hotel but more of a B&B .

Nirvana has not Toiletries , No restaurant or cafe , Towels are almost 10 years old and to top it off my room had no Matress . Only Box spring and a pillow top.

Sandra and the staff make your stay wonderful , beach is serene and the service is great . But the experience with respect to amenities was very mediocre.

Niravana is not for couples . Potentially for large groups who have fun with themselves as there is nothing to do after 8pm.

Nirvana was a dream, the hotel staff was able to accommodate and arrange every activity we were interested in. As well as give recommendations on where to go, what to eat, and whom to shop from. I will without be back again next year. Errol was the best I actually met up with him later on in town and had a great night. They have the most immaculate property and beach on all of the seven mile. Recommend to any and all, enjoy.

The families of both the bride and groom stayed at Nirvana for a week for their Jamaican wedding. And I, for one, am hoping to return for a first anniversary celebration! I just loved everything about Nirvana and feel we got an authentic Jamaican experience. I miss walking down the sandy path to our private beach every morning! Just beautiful with not a beach umbrella in sight, made totally unnecessary because of the shade from the palm trees. And Erol had them perfectly positioned for the morning them moved them back for the afternoon sun. If a chaise is not your style, there are also hammocks. The beach is beautiful, private, and quiet. We got into the habit of buying Jamaican "pockets" from Norman for lunch. And the lobsters for a dinner made by the staff were caught by another of the beach vendors right off our beach. We also had wonderful dinners made by the staff, including Red Snapper and Jamaican chicken cooked the authentic way.

The setting and landscaping is completely natural with a wide variety of native plants. And naturally selected by native birds, including a flock of parakeets. The pathways are all sand and are raked every day in a variety of patterns. No concrete here! The gardens are immaculate and are kept picked up from falling leaves, fruit or nuts every day. It was wonderful to hear the birds by day and the peepers and surf by night.

The cottage rental includes one meal a day cooked by the staff there with food supplied by the guests. If I had one complaint, it was that the food was started at 1PM and by the time it was ready it was too late for lunch and too early for dinner. But we enjoyed it nevertheless. There are any number of restaurants going up or down the beach in either direction with a short walk of just a couple of minutes.

The staff at Nirvana are wonderful and ready to meet your every need. Leon brought us to and from the airport in Montego Bay for a fee that had not been inflated for tourists. A massage therapist came every other day and several in our party availed themselves of her services in the gazebo, which were offered at the rate of $1.00 per minute. The cleaning staff were gracious and accommodating and quite willing to come to service your room when you wanted them to. I found the bed a bit hard the first night but they provided a mattress topper for the rest of our stay there.

We stayed in one of the air conditioned cottages, which was quite completely but simply furnished. There were wonderful ceiling fans both in the cottage and on the screened porch which was a lovely place to sit and read in the evening. The kitchen was also very complete and more than adequate for our needs. The bath was very clean and modern with plenty of hot water.

We also befriended Oreo the cat who was very pregnant when we arrived and who had had her kittens by the time we left! She is very friendly and had a ravenous appetite, which we were happy to supply with food, which she eagerly ate. Any food we left for her on our door stoops overnight was gone when morning broke. Please feed Oreo!!!

Nirvana is just the kind of non-resort resort that I just love. VERY family friendly. And I would love to return!
