This was my first visit to Jamaica and I have to say it was truly an amazing introduction to an amazing country. I recently graduated from a masters program and a friend suggested a trip to Jamaica before preparing to reenter the work force. Travellers was so great they helped us set up transport from the airport before arriving - makes a big difference when you are in a new country! Upon arrival to Travellers we were greeted by great receptionists and later by the general manager and one of the owners. They were so kind and took the time make sure we had help with our heavy bags. After a quick lay of the land we headed to the bar where we had the first of many amazing rum punches (my favorite was the piña colada :-)...). The wait staff and really everyone at the hotel made being there for 2 weeks feel like home, always checking in on us and wanting to ensure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed the food so much we ate at least half of our meals there (probably more - because it was so good!). The wait staff remembered our favorite drinks and how we ordered our food, making our stay effortless and comfortable. The view from the restaurant to the ocean constantly brought smiles to our faces - simply beautiful. The staff made sure when we were ready for a little pool time or time on the beach we had our beach tools in hand. Security staff also helped to manage the beach vendors so we could enjoy the sun and waves and continue our relaxing stay. We also witnessed the onsite lifeguard save a little girl who's parents had turned away for just a split second. This was a safe and family friendly place that became home away from home in such a short time. The on site events such as karaoke, the managers cocktail hour, Jamaica night made for great fun at the resort. Everyone at the resort was really nice in providing us great suggestions on restaurants in the area, where to spend our evenings, spa services and activities to round out our experiences. My friends and I bought 3 bricks from the nonprofit NEET which is run onsite as well; the bricks will be used to build libraries and schools in the local community. This place was clearly a family run business with a mission to create an experience for its guest but also give back to the community, allowing the guests to do so as well. Within just a couple of days, my girlfriends and I were planning our next visit to Travellers hopefully later this year! I have been to several Caribbean islands but this experience by far was one I can't wait to relive!
