“Fantastic Hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014 via mobile

After reading reviews before visiting this fantastic hotel and also since we unfortunately had to come Home all I'm going to say is this place is exactly as most people have described it. AMAZING!!

Ignore Marc a - "disappointing kids holiday" you will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here. The Italian restaurant is excellent, if you want a pizza there's a few dominos pizza outlets around the island. Ha. The food is probably the best I've ever had as part of an all inclusive (and I've stayed in plenty) It's on par with Sensatori Mexico.

Also the staff get 1 day off a week and work their butts off so don't worry if you have to wait a bit for an egg 1 day.

Everything is fantastic. If your about to go here then have a great time. I'm not jealous, honestly.

My wife and I have just returned from two weeks at the Sensatori Hotel in Negril, Jamaica and we have to say it is the best holiday we've ever had…….Thank you so much. We were excited at the prospect of flying on Thomson’s Dreamliner and we were not disappointed. Part of our check-in to the hotel was completed on the coach, first time this has happened to us. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with champagne and canapés in the reception area, followed by cold flannel towels to cool you down. Check in was completed smoothly and we were then accompanied by a member of staff who showed us to our room. We stayed in Room 4305, which had a superb view out to sea. The room was spacious, modern, nicely decorated with a large bathroom, with twin sinks. The best part of the room was the beautiful terrace with a day couche, and table and chairs.
The standard of food in the hotel is excellent and it was great that we didn't need to reserve a table at any of the restaurants. We enjoyed all the restaurants and the choice and quality was outstanding; the champagne was also very nice too. The buffet restaurant always had a wide selection everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A range of fresh fruits, salads and hot dishes were on offer daily. The quality of drinks on offer was excellent; all branded alcohol as well as local drinks including Appleton Rum. The range of cocktails was good, we tried most of them and can recommend the Bob Marley.

The hotel was nearly fully booked, however, it never felt busy and kept it's boutique feel at all times. The beach was never crowded and the restaurants were all quiet even later on in the evenings. The hotel is kept immaculately clean by the hard working staff and the grounds look beautiful, the beach is beautiful too…….best we have ever seen. The sea is so clear and warm and we spent everyday relaxing on the beach. We liked to be on the beach early in the morning and there were plenty of sunbed’s available on the beach throughout the day.
One of the reasons we loved this hotel so much was the fantastic standard of service we received from all the staff, they were all fantastic. The staff were all very professional but still were able to have fun and were so friendly. All staff were brilliant, but some who made our holiday were: Neville, Dwayne, Omar, Delmoy, Marion, Sheryl, and Prince has to be an excellent future manager in the making. He certainly pulled out all the stops to make sure we celebrated our Ruby Wedding Anniversary in style. The staff really can't do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble and we have to say what an asset all members of staff are to this 5* Hotel.
We did visit Rick's Cafe by booking a taxi ourselves and we had a brilliant time. The sunset from the cliff top was amazing and the perfect place to enjoy a patty and beer. Apart from that, we had a great time there, the professional divers were amazing, a band added to the atmosphere and the sunset was beautiful, well worth a visit. We really enjoyed the company of the people we met, especially our sunbed neighbours: Christa, Stuart and family and newly weds Sammy and Michael.
At the airport on our return flight we used our Airport Angel card’s to use the VIP lounge, which was called “Club Mobay ”. We were guided through security and check in very quickly and the lounge was lovely and relaxing with a range of snacks and drinks on offer.
We had the most wonderful holiday and we will definitely return. If you are thinking of booking this hotel, don't hesitate, read Trip Advisor Reviews and then book….. you will not be disappointed!

We have just returned from spending 2 weeks at Sensatori Jamaica (Negril), myself, wife and 2 friends, and we had a lovely stay at this resort and it is a fantastic hotel to visit.
The hotel has recently re-opened after a renovation and change of ownership, and this has been completed to a good standard. The options of dining are more than adequate, from buffet to fine dining restaurants, our favorite being the Italian restaurant.
The beach is incredibly clean and the water crystal clear, the weather was nearly perfect, we had 2 afternoons of rain around 4pm and 1 more afternoon of 4 hours, but this did not make our holiday any less enjoyable.
The management and staff are some of the best you will meet, and as always there are staff members that further excel to please.......Omar the pool and beach attendant was a credit to the hotel, the entertainment staff work tirelessly and waiters/waitresses work so hard, our favourites were Neville, Cornette, Audley and Fiona, our room was cleaned to a good standard every day.
The hotel does have some small issues, but the management team are happy to listen, and rectify/adjust with any recommendations you may have.
The (GM) Mario Chavez and the F&B Manager Danielle are always seen around the property making sure things are running well, and are always happy to talk to guests.
The Thomson Manager at this resort is Nicky and she always around the resort ensuring the guests were okay.
All in all this hotel is a fantastic place to visit and hopefully for future guests will only get better.
We travelled on the Dreamliner in premium economy and found this to be of a good standard.

My husband and I have just returned from two weeks in the Sensatori hotel in Jamaica and it has been one of the best holidays we've had. As soon as we arrived and were greeted with cold flannels, champagne and canapés in the modern reception area we knew we were in for a treat. Check in was completed for us and we were then accompanied by a member of reception staff who showed us to our room. We booked a swim up room in the adult section which was gorgeous. The room was spacious, modern, tastefully decorated with a large bathroom. The best part of the room was the beautiful terrace with a day bed, padded sun bed and table and chairs. From the terrace we could walk straight in the pool, swim around to the swim up bar and swim back with our cocktails, perfect! We loved our room and the set up of these rooms around the pool/bar area allowed us to meet and chat to other couples and we enjoyed meeting some lovely people during our stay.
The standard of food in the hotel is excellent and it was great that we didn't need to reserve a table at any of the restaurants. We enjoyed all the restaurants and the choice and quality was outstanding; the wine was good too. The buffet restaurant always had a great selection everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A range of fresh fruits, salads and hot dishes were on offer daily. The Italian restaurant was our favourite place to eat for dinner with great choices of pasta, risotto, meat and fish dishes. I am a vegetarian and I was spoilt for choice throughout the two weeks. The quality of drinks on offers was excellent; all branded alcohol as well as local drinks including Appleton rum. The range of cocktails was brilliant, we tried most of them and can recommend the Bob Marley, the Dirty Banana (ask for an extra dirty one!!) and the Mango and Basil, all delicious! The Nesta lounge in the evening was good fun with a disco and live acts, singers and Jamaican cultural show. We thoroughly enjoyed the gala evening and the beach party, the tables are arranged beautifully and a lot of care is taken by the staff to organise great evenings.
The hotel was fully booked, however, it never felt busy and kept it's boutique feel at all times. The beach was never crowded and the restaurants were all quiet even later on in the evenings. The hotel is kept immaculately clean by the hard working staff and the grounds look beautiful, the beach is beautiful too. The sea is so clear and warm and we spent most days relaxing on the beach. The local traders and entertainers were great fun, ask Ancel to sing you a Bob Marley song on the beach, he's great! We liked to be on the beach early in the morning and there were lots of sunbeds available on the beach throughout the day.
One of the reasons we loved this hotel so much was the fantastic standard of service we received from all the staff, they were amazing. The staff were all very professional but still were able to have fun and were so friendly. All staff were brilliant, but some who made our holiday were: Neville, Dwayne, Marion, Sheryl, Martino and Prince. A big thank you to Miklos for being so friendly, making the grounds look so immaculate and for bringing us delicious coconuts on the beach. The staff really can't do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble and this is such a strength of the hotel.
We did visit Rick's Cafe by booking a taxi ourselves and we had a brilliant time. The sunset from the cliff top was amazing and the perfect place to enjoy a rum! My husband dived from the top jump which he enjoyed, however, he was led into the caves by locals straight afterwards on the pretence it was the only way to get out of the sea. He was then led through the caves where he cut his head and feet on the sharp rocks and had to swim under the water to get out, a frightening experience. If you go to dive, please make sure you swim to the right to avoid this to exit the water from the steps safely. Apart from that, we had a great time there, the professional divers were amazing, a live band added to the atmosphere and the sunset was beautiful, well worth a visit.
I visited the hotel spa which was amazing. I was allocated a spa butler who accompanied me on the initial water experience of the steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. I was then taken to the relaxation room before my massage with Natasha, which was one of the best massages I've ever had. At the end of the treatment I was given ginger tea and given more time in the relaxation room. Again, the standard of service I received at the spa was excellent, the staff were so friendly and attentive, I would definitely recommend a visit.
At the airport on our return flight we paid to use the VIP lounge, the Mobay Club. We paid for this at the hotel, it cost $30 (£19) each and was well worth it. We were guided through security and check in very quickly and the lounge was lovely and relaxing with a range of snacks and drinks on offer.
We had the most wonderful holiday and we will definitely return. If you are thinking of booking this hotel, don't hesitate, you'll have an amazing time!

Room Tip: The swim up rooms in the adult section are fantastic, well worth booking.

Sensatori Jamaica

I am sorry for having to write this and if you are reading it just before your holiday but I thought you should all know, this is the first time I have ever had to feel I need to write a review on a holiday.

We have just holidayed here for 2 weeks with our 5 year old daughter as it was advertised as a family vacation.

The food standard is supposed to be gourmet, I am sorry to say it is not 5 star as it states it is more like 4 star and that is pushing it. There is no consistency in the food quality, standard or level of service in my experience of 5 star resorts. We had to wait 1 hour for our food at Garfields restaurant which only had 10 customers at the time which when it did arrive was very poor and we left not eating and so did another family. The restaurant times changed without any prior notice and even sometimes closed, also there are NO KIDS MENUS ANYWHERE which was very frustrating having a very fussy 5 year old.

There is a supposedly authentic Italian cuisine restaurant which does not do PIZZA not unless you ask, if you do ask you get a supermarket standard pizza base, I would have expected the to make the pizzas themselves maybe in a pizza oven? The good think about this restaurant is that it is air conditioned.

We never ate in the ACKE restaurant as everyone we spoke to said it was to humid and to appresive to enjoy your meal but apparently the food was ok.

The buffet restaurant was sporadic in its service level and food quality and quantity. I must say though the breakfast was great when a particular lady is doing the cooking (Hyacinth) but when she has a day off be prepared for a long wait for your eggs, pancakes or omelettes.
This is not air conditioned on the night time it's is very hot and humid but it is Jamaica.

We went to what they call a Gala dinner twice and found if you don't get there early you will get the response we got its all gone, we only wanted some prawns from the barbecue. I was horrified to see what was happening at the pasta station the chef? was making sauce for people's pasta and then when the next customer wanted something different he proceeded to wash the pan up in the filthiest water I have ever seen it could have been mistaken for sauce he then proceeded to do this all night, if you have allergies or a dodgy stomach this would have been a problem.
You had to sit around a table of sixteen people which we didn't mind as we are quite outgoing but the table was very dark and if someone else had previously been sitting there which they had the table was left with food over it as no one thought to clean the table. I will put a picture of the washing up water.

The kids club is not on all day the times are 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, which was not was expected there is little else to keep the kids amused part from the pools. The girls in the kids club were great though it must be said. They sometimes put on a film for the kids to watch by the beach but if adults are still using the pool behind be prepared for some adult language as this pool can be used till late there were also people in the pool with glass which was found in the pool the next day.

Be prepared to get up really early to get a cabana as they are no a lot of them and individuals see it as there right to put there belongings on them at 6 in the morning and then not use them until the afternoon.
There is no other shade on the beach as there a no parasols around the sun beds.

There is a small gift shop which is very expensive so if need anything go out you will find things half there price.

Our room was great and well kept, all of the staff are great and there level of service is good. Jamaica is a lovely place and we will be going back but not to this resort.

There is little entertainment on the evenings which needs to be sorted if this is going to continue to be advertised as a 5 star resort.

All of the above issues are management issues which need to be sorted urgently.

Stayed at Azul Sensatori by Karisma for two weeks at the end of July and am already looking at prices for next years summer holiday. I have travelled to many places and this has to be my favourite holiday ever.
As with many of the other reviews the staff make this place. From the bar staff, restaurant servers to the cleaners I feel like I made so many friends in this amazing place.

The hotel itself has a really boutique feel to it making it feel like you are staying in a small 5* village rather than a faceless 5* all inclusive resort.

Special shout goes to all the bar staff and dj in the Robert Nesta Lounge and 7 Mile Bar where we spent a lot of time being entertained and the swim up bar in the Adults Only Pool.

The childrens area (although not needed) looks a really good quality and well designed and the spa area is very tranquil. This is the first year of the hotels refurb and is spotlessly clean and has a new feel to it, I hope it stays this way!

Everyone I met on this holiday made my holiday special and I was sad to say goodbye.

The beach is amazing and swept every day, however I do agree that there are a few greedy guests that feel the need to reserve 4 sunbeds for two people usually reserving a cabana bed and not using it for a whole day but I guess there will always be some selfishness in the world.......

If you are staying and want to do any boat trips then use Stanley's Fishing Trips on the resort. The guys here were brilliant and so much fun. Especially Robert & Martin.

All I can say is try this place out it is amazing.

Returned yesterday after travelling with hubby, 18 year old son and 13 year daughter. What a 2 week treat, glorious beaches, friendly staff, good food and drinks and excellent weather made for our most relaxing break ever.
Travelled Dreamliner Premier both ways, which was excellent. First off the airline on landing and we managed to clear customs quickly, without using Mobay services. We had about an hour and half wait on the coach until everyone boarded and then an hour and half transfer. I'd recommend arranging private transfers if you're able, wish I'd done that. Check in was partially done on the coach whilst we were waiting, which made the process at the hotel very quick, almost immediate.
We had booked 2 separate rooms and initially was disappointed with our choice of a one bedroom suite, suitable for 2 - 4 adults. At the time of booking this was advertised as a one bedroom ocean front suite - which later changed to a garden suite. I think this was probably the worst view on the complex, overlooking a set of stairs leading to the loft rooms above. Having had various rows with Thomson from Easter onwards, which remained unresolved, basically like it and lump it, I resolved to get over this and not to let it impact our break. I'm so glad I did! The room itself was spacious, well set out but I missed our view and sitting on the balcony watching sunsets. My son on the other hand had a fab room and awesome view - typical!!
We made the most of the cabana beds and sat on the beach each day. We went for early morning walks and spotted rays and fish and pelicans getting their breakfast.
My daughter and I tried the Yoga and beach bootcamp and can recommend these. My son used the gym regularly which was functional and also loved the beach volleyball which encouraged people of all ages to take part and got competitive at times!!
We tried the watersports centre, took out the water bikes and paddle boards and hired snorkelling equipment. The people working at the watersports centre were really friendly and took us out on a boat snorkelling and to Ricks Cafe. It was fantastic, we met some lovely people and was really good value for money. The diving was done in small groups with a chaperone, excellent fun!
Entertainment in the evenings was low key, we missed it most nights as it's not generally our thing. It wasn't really aimed at entertaining the kids either, but the kids (older ones) generally met up in reception to chat, get wifi, have shakes. Possibly sounds boring, but my daughter loved it and that she was able to have her own space. There are no money machines here, no games rooms, just old fashioned socialising!! The hotel was mainly adults/couples.
Loved the food and restaurants and that you could access where you wanted without being limited to the number of times that week or having to book in advance. Breakfast started with cheery banter from Neville and Dwayne each morning, "No problems!", "Infused, not be confused!" Great selection at breakfast and the fruit tasted amazing. Loved Garfields personally, the setting was fab, loved the Italian and the Caribbean. So nice to be waited on rather than the buffet style, all the staff worked so hard and were so friendly.
Tried the lobster man that came along the beach, seriously tasty and also the lobster hut up near Sandals good too.
Would also like to mention Marion at Breakfast - she was so lovely, Omar on the pool - he works really hard keeping things tidy and always asks how you are etc, Christine and Christopher in the pool bar for their fantastic cocktails, Roydell at Garfields bar and also the 2 chefs in Garfields who would always come out and ask if you'd enjoyed the meal. The beach life guards too were always so friendly.
We don't usually return to places, but if I ever need a place to unwind in the sun then I'd not hesitate to return here, I'd even go as far to say that my husbands returned a new man, I've not seen him this relaxed in years!!!

Room Tip: If I was going again I'd choose a swim up room, just to chill on the outside beds in the evening...
