My partner and I stayed here in September 2013. It is a quiet, private and pleasant place situated on the cliffs in Negril, Jamaica. The rooms are well appointed, clean, modern and functional. The room I stayed in Libra has ocean frontage and lovely views of the property. The gardens are beautiful. The hotel restaurant and bar offers delicious meals and drinks however they do come at a cost. Several other eating options are available only a short walk nearby. I recommend eating both at Catcha and trying those places nearby. The lifeguard (Derick), guard (Lewis), gardner (Jackie) and front office staff treated us like family. In fact, the receptionist stated when we left, "If you don't like it where you're going, come back home". I highly recommend this place!

Beautiful place, wonderful staff and food. My husband and I stayed for 5 nights in the Ares room. This place is just beautiful, romantic and peaceful. Also gives you a space to do your stuff and explore on your own. We are not the all inclusive people and this is exactly for us!!! I would come back. Pure joy

The photos you see on here are completely accurate! This hotel is perfect for a getaway to just relax. Everyone at the hotel is very friendly and accommodating. We were going to take a cab to the hotel, but Mauvette offered their hotels driver Wayne. It was probably $20 more, but well, WELL worth it. My best friend and I were in good hands. Wayne picked us up, let us play out iPod and took us to bars on the way back to the hotel. We had so much fun. As two women alone, you definately need a local for some type of security. I'm a tough cookie fully covered in tattoos and street savy, but the men in Jamaica are very very aggressive. It was great to have Wayne with us to keep us protected and to show us around.

The hotel is so relaxing and spacious. You can lounge anywhere on the property and be in heaven. Bradly was the bartender at Ivans and he was always so pleasant (along with everyone else). We went off season, late Sept and it was great that it wasnt full of other people.

Derek was our life guard and he gave us snorkels and we would spend hours down in the water below the cliffs. Derek was always helping us out from cliff jumping to showing us things in the water.

This hotel isnt around too much, but you really don't need it to be. Everything you need is there, and the food is impeccable. The staff is 100+ stars of excellence. I would go there again.

We spent 3 nights at Catcha Falling Star. The staff are very genuine and made us feel welcome right away. The accommodation is spotless, modern and very comfortable. We particularly liked the secluded sun bathing areas around the swimming areas which you don't get with the larger hotels. The food at Ivan's restaurant is delicious and the bar is great for sundowners.

One of the biggest 'plusses' all the cliff top properties in Negril have which the beachside hotels don't is that there is no hassling or touting from the locals who relentlessly try to sell you anything and everything (read into that what you will!). The cliff top properties are more private and secure IMHO.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone in particular to couples wanting some peace and relaxation.

Room Tip: Avoid the beach properties unless you like the higglers selling everything including themselves! If...

I have stayed at Catcha twice and it feels like my home away from home. The staff are amazing and feel like family- they remembered my husband and I from our first trip and it was fun to catch up with everyone. We stayed in the Sagittarius which is my favorite lodging on the resort. It is private and has the most spectacular view of the sea. The living/dining area of the room are on the porch and is the perfect spot to hang out and you can order room service if you wish. The room does have AC but I much prefer to leave the shutters open and hear the crashing of the waves on the cliffs. The atmosphere at Catcha is laid back and comfortable. During our stay there was a small wedding and the entire resort was booked, but it never felt cramped or crowded. There are plenty of beach chairs and private spots to lounge all day while reading a book or sipping a cocktail from the bar. The other guests have always been friendly, but there is no pressure to socialize if you choose not to. If you are feeling adventurous, you can dive from the cliffs, but I prefer to float in a small private swimming cove. There is a lifeguard on duty and he'll even go snorkeling with you if you are interested- the resort has snorkeling gear for guests to use. The saltwater pool is another perfect lounging spot and they have a cliffside hot tub which is great after the sun goes down. The gardens are meticulous and lush and provide a great deal of privacy for many of the guest rooms. The front office is very helpful in providing directions, arranging transportation and answering any questions you might have. If you are interested in arranging an excursion, you can't go wrong with Dandy- he works for Catcha and can generally be found there in the mornings. We've gone on excursions to YS Falls, Pelican Bar, Black River, Appleton Rum Factory, but Dandy is happy and willing to take you wherever you're interested in going. Catcha is an amazing resort- small, cozy and friendly you won't find a better view, better food or friendlier staff!

The nicest, most accommodating staff we have ever encountered. The grounds are lush with exploding flowers, palms and bougainvillea's. Every time I saw a catamaran go by, I felt so lucky that we were staying at Catcha. The cove is great for snorkeling, and the views are magnificent. It will be very hard to travel anywhere else now that we have stayed here.

Room Tip: Not all rooms are air conditioned, but our friends said it did not bother them.
