“Low class hideaway close to a great beach!”
Reviewed 6 June 2013

We stayed there for 5 nights. The place could be really nice, but it looks like nobody took really care of it for quite a while. There were holes in the mosqito nets, cockroaches coming out of the drawer in the kitchen twice!!, lots olf mold in the fridge, oven with no gas to cook (poor and dirty equipped kitchen), dirty bathroom, which wasn't cleaned at all during our stay. There is one extra small kitchen place for all to use which also looked very dirty: after seeing the moldy left over of coffe in the machine we decided not to use it! Besides that the location is close to one of the best beaches in Jamaika. You walk about 10 minutes over an adventures trail to reach the Winniefred Beach, which is not touristik at all. Only the beach is worth it to stay at Mikuzies!

When my friend and I arrived at Mikuzi, we were immediately impressed with how cute and colorful the cottages were. We took a quick tour and decided to book two nights. However, once we got settled in the room we realized that it was filthy. tub had dirt and a used up soap bar in it. spider webs and dust were everywhere. when we tried to let down a curtain that had been tied up, there were spiders living in it. needless to say, we quickly retied it. This place has such potential. I hope they get it together soon.

We (2 English girls) stayed here last week & loved it. The location is perfect - 5 mins walk from Winnifred Beach which is one of the most beautiful in Jamaica.

Rooms are colourful and basic, a great budget option for young travellers, couples and families alike. Steve is super friendly and helpful and made us feel safe.

I stayed there with my boyfriend for 2 nights and we had positive experience. Basic accommodation but, as far as I m being asked, it's all u need when travelling around. Clean bed, bathroom, good location... Steve is, just like other reviews say, very nice and friendly guy who will help u with anything u need.

Room Tip: Well, we had a cottage on the left :9 if u want some privacy, that's ur cottage :)

We stayed for 5 days & absolutely loved it. Accomodation is very basic but missing creature comforts is more than made up for by the vibrant colorful feel of Mikuzi, the proximity to some of Jamaica's best beaches and Steve, the incredibly warm, charismatic manager. He is incredibly helpful and considerate. We stayed in the most basic rooms with 2 young children( external cold showers!) but I think the others have warm internal showers? In short, if you want to feel like you're in real Jamaica, visit superb beaches & don't mind basic living I would highly recommend Mikuzi Fairy Hill.

Rented the 3br cottage for my wife and 2 daughters 7 and 10, and a couple of locals. The hospitality is awesome!!! Steve is great. Chalice who takes care of the gounds is a WONDERFUL man to be around and talk with. Winnifred beach is very close by and offers a wide variety of food and swimming opportunities. The cottage is clean and basic but very nice vibe and chill place to use as a home base to explore the area. Will be back I am sure of it!!!

Room Tip: They are all nice but the cottage has a kitchen!

Mikuzi in Fairy Hill outside of Port Antonio is affordable, clean, and has everything you need for a great time near Winnifred Beach- one of the cleanest most beautiful beaches in Jamaica. The rooms are small but perfect for travelers who are out and about during the day and need a homebase to be comfortable in at night. Comfortable beds, cold showers, fun and funky decor and bright tropical colors. A shared pleasant verandah area with kitchen to use. Steve is a friendly and helpful host who keeps the place clean and safe. We will def. be back.

Room Tip: all rooms vary- some have bathrooms, some have a kitchen, some shared amenities.
